The staff are loving and warm to the children and very accommodating toward parents, who are always welcome to drop in to visit their children or talk to staff. Religiosity is never excessive, but in line with age-appropriate Catholic teaching. Hitting and conflicts among children are not overlooked but dealt with immediately in a firm, fair manner by staff. Aggressive children are referred to senior staff for intervention and generally this is sufficient to avert problem patterns developing. The staff are compassionate about pottying and the children have very easy access to a child-sized lavatory whenever needed. Parents are not chided about accidents, incidents or threatened with expulsion because a child displays minor issues common to their age. The center is very supportive of allergic children, posting their needs in classrooms so staff are reminded to be aware. Medicines are not dispensed without a doctor's note, and can be stored on site. Children running a fever will be sent home to recover until the fever has been gone 24 hours. Sniffles and minor colds are tolerated. Families are diverse in background, as is the staff. Catholics registered with a parish receive a significant discount, but all are welcomed. Demand can be high for slots, particularly for infants through 3 years. There is often a waiting list for infants, so apply well before birth. Children are admitted as early as 6 weeks. Graduation occurs at the end of the spring term in May for 5 year olds going to K in the fall. Tuition varies by age, but our preschooler it was approximately $1040 a month for full-time care, 5 days a week, 7 am to 6 pm. Part-time arrangements are available and flexible. The programs operate on a semester basis (Fall and Spring) with a Summer term. There is a weeklong spring break and two weeks off in the summer. The facility is fully accredited by the State of Maryland under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Washington, and billing is done by the FACTS company, with ACH deducation available. In sum, this is a long-running, well-managed, child-friendly daycare facility with an excellent reputation. Highly recommended.

Each teacher there also made sure to know each child. My child every morning gave hugs to all the staff to start their day and a hug at the end as well. Field trips were arranged, the curriculum is awesome and fun. Not only did my child learn math and reading, but also culture lessons, Spanish, nutrition, but also had a physical ed class as well. During play the children were learning. The center reaches out to parents and gives the parents tools to help at home as well with educational growth. There is a nap time or quite time for those kiddos who no longer nap. I just can't say enough about how wonderful the staff really is because I never worried about my child while they were at the center.

I went in the room and found Mrs.G on the floor with my son and her arm around him, comforting him after a long day. I could see from several feet away that she truly has a passion for what she does and she greatly cares for the children. The center enforces healthy meals and snacks, ensures proper hand-washing of the children constantly to prevent the spread of germs, and the security protocol implemented is comforting, knowing that my children are safe when I leave them in their care. The kids loved having swimming 3 times a week and swimming lessons as an option. My only concern was the price, especially when I had to pay double the tuition for 2, however you can't put a price on a quality facility like GCC. I love GCC and hope that I will be able to afford several more summers there for my children. The experience was unforgettable.

And the playground is safe and wonderful for the very youngest of learners. They use an app which provides updates including photos and videos. As a new parent, leaving my child at daycare made me very nervous. But the staff has my full trust and their stellar communication has given me great confidence. I see my child being social and exploring at such a great pace. I really think it takes a village to raise a child and I consider Primrose a part of ours. We are very grateful.

Prior to enrolling my child in your facility I must have visited close to 30 centers and quite honestly none came close to giving my then 18 month old the time, attention and demonstration of love, as she and her staff did. On the first day, I cried, even more so than my 18- month old. Ms. Burgman consoled me and told me I could call and check on her as much as I wanted. Halfway home, I received texts from her of pics of my daughter playing with the other babies, laughing and smiling. Just the reassurance I needed to see. I cried some more. I'll never forget how she put herself in my shoes as a mother and understood what I needed at that time. A few months into being at the center, my child generally began to refuse to eat basic foods - especially during the standard lunch times for the children. This was a very stressful time for my family and I. After being overly focused on this issue, I managed to stop attending to my own needs and consequently became ill, erroneously believing that I had failed as a parent. Ms. Burgman sat with me and reassured me that this was a phase and that we would get over this hump together. I really needed to hear that. I can recall coming in during the children's nap time one day from work just to check on my child and I saw Ms. Burgman and Mrs. Mitchell taking turns eating lunch so that one of them would be present to sit with my child to ensure that she would eat. I never asked them to. My child's picky eating habits went on for a few weeks actually, and I know that this interfered with the eating schedules for her and a few of the staff (smile) - but no one ever complained. It meant more to me than I could ever express at that time to know that they were sacrificing their own lunch for the sake of ensuring that my child would eat. I'll never forget that either. There have been many times that when able to do so, Ms. Burgman and staff have worked with my family and I in limiting circumstances and for that - I thank you. Honestly, I can go on about the wonderful things Ms. Burgman and her staff have done for my family and I over the years! So much so, that at some point, I even began to think "I must be receiving special treatment". After speaking with many parents during our time at KinderCare I was impressed to learn- that I was not. Almost every parent I've spoken to at one point or another has had their own unique experience where Ms. Burgman and her staff have went beyond the call of duty in the care they have provided for the children. I also know that if it weren't for Ms. Burgman, the staff would not be as empowered or enabled to go above and beyond in placing the needs of the children above their own. It is often times overlooked and easily forgotten. As many times as I've walked in and out of KinderCare, I've never took the time to say thank you. And, although there have been a few occasions where I have been quick to express my frustrations over the "Kindercare" way of doing things - Ms. Burgman still listened and heard me out, even going so far as to express some of those shared concerns with Kindercare Corp. I have no doubt that she has probably been a "voice" for many other parents as well. So on behalf of my family and many other families, I tip my hat off to you, Ms. Burgman and Staff. I was very nervous as she is my first child, and I was sad to go back to work and leave her every day. Every member of the staff has been welcoming and warm to us -- not just when we first started, but every single day since. The facility is clean and well-organized. They take security very seriously and have a two-lock system to get inside. They also regularly update me throughout the day, from pictures of my baby playing to notices about menu changes or when they have a fire drill. My daughter has learned so much more from the teachers here than she ever could have learned at home with me. I also think socializing with the other babies and the teachers' constant support and encouragement gave her the confidence to learn to crawl and walk in her first year. More importantly, they genuinely care for her and she clearly loves them and feels comfortable with them -- she'll even reach for them when I drop her off and is excited to see them every morning. Every day when I pick her up, she's happy to see me but also quick to blow kisses and wave goodbye to her teachers with a big smile on her face. I cannot rave about this center enough -- it's pricey (as all DC daycare centers are) but it is worth every penny.
