All special needs parents that struggle with trying to involve your kid(s) with a sport or…read moreextracurricular this is exactly what your kid needs. Mason my 10 year old has been with Master Yu at Yong-in Aurora for 2 years now. My son has more or less moderate functioning autism. He struggles tremendously with friends and peers and thrives on structure and goals. He is an amazing kid however we felt like he lacked a sense of extracurricular socializing. We live in a bubble those of you I'm sure can relate and ever since the day he met Master Yu his eyes had been forever glowing with learning Taekwondo. He has accomplished becoming a red belt as of today and I kid you not Master Yu has a gift to form this bond and trust with my son that makes me as a parent Soooo happy. Mason has idolized Master Yu so much that if I feel I have any concerns at home or at school he is able to relay that to him during his sessions. Let's face it our kids don't always listen to mom and dad but the discipline and structure he is able to grasp from his Master is mesmerizing. I can go on and on but honestly my son has been blessed to have met such a kind, caring, motivating and extraordinary person that's definitely leaving permanent footprints in his life that will go with him into adulthood and really give him a sense of belonging to something he cares for with all his heart. We don't ever want to part with Master Yu as he's been a godsend for us. It's worth it you won't believe me until you try. Trust me Go for it!

Prior to this class, I never had any other training so I was a little nervous but everyone was very patient and kind and made this a fun experience. All the instructors, helpers, and Master Yu did a great job on teaching us different self defense techniques. I would Highly recommend going here for classes !

We often over look the teachers that teach our kids in the most subtle and profound ways. I wanted to take a moment to recognize two of these teachers in my children's lives. Three of my four children have been attending Jin Martial Arts for almost a year. Master Brett and Master Jeff never fail to amaze me with how they teach, guide and run their school. Both Master Brett and Master Jeff have unwavering patience with children of all ages. I have had the pleasure of watching the Tiny Tornadoes class while my 6 year old was in it and their ability to keep 4 -6 year olds focused and showing respect is impressive. Master Brett has a remarkable way of speaking to kids, especially this younger age group. He speaks to them on their level while not speaking down to them and puts some of life's most valuable lessons in words that they can process and understand. Master Jeff is equally patient and kind. As the kids move up in classes, the expectations change while always remaining age appropriate. Students' personal growth is the focus. The growth I have seen in my children since starting classes at Jin Martial Arts has been tremendous. It goes without saying that they have grown physically, my 11 year old daughter can do push-ups. As a parent, the growth that may not be as obvious; confidence, respect, taking responsibility for their actions, treatment of siblings, just to name a few; is invaluable. Master Brett and Master Jeff truly care for their students and want to see them succeed, the theme being to improve yourself and try your best. They have created an environment that parents can feel welcome in and that we are all there to support each other and the students; they have created a village. It is hard to find words to describe the positivity and kindness that Master Brett and Master Jeff have created. Positivity and kindness feel like a cliche that doesn't fully explain the teaching style and community that is Jin Martial Arts. It is so much more than that. Master Brett and Master Jeff are true leaders and teach above all else by example of how they conduct themselves. They are teaching more than martial arts; they are teaching how to be better. They give our future hope. Watching them interact with our youth is refreshing and humbling. To Master Brett and Master Jeff, thank you. Thank you for all you do for our kids. It matters. -Emily Ciarletto (Landon, Valerie and Everett's mom)

Master Lee is terrific with all ages and levels of experience & growth. His classes are well rounded in that he rotates around developing form, calisthenics, general athleticism, all while concentrating on the tenets of respect, confidence and focus. We couldn't be happier that we chose Master Lee and his dojang for our son's black belt pursuit. Our many thanks and gratitude to Master Lee for helping our son achieve something amazing. It's an achievement for life that cannot be taken away. Cheers.

While the classes can be strict, the instructors find a way to make it enjoyable which in turn motivates many including our son to keep striving to be better each passing day. Alexander is always excited to come into class especially on days when they do sparring or when it is belt testing time. Grandmaster Lee accolades are very impressive and his main instructor (Ben) along with the leaders are all professional and caring of everyone's success. Alexander has definitely become a better listener, more confident, and respectful since he has joined the program.

We've been coming here for 4 years and I watched my daughter go from crying in her first class at the age of 3, to now being a black belt and telling her friends she can't play because She's going to TKD. I would and do recommend this place to everybody. I can't praise them enough...

After paying $139 a month…read moreand an additional $60 every 2 months (to pay for the belt test, which did not make sense, whether they learn the kata's or not they give them the belt so the parents are PAYING for the belts instead of the kids EARNING THEM) i quickly noticed that the kids are not learning self defense. When i questioned Master Jung about this his response was that Tae Kwon Do was not for self defense but that he teaches self confidence within a kid and how to make them feel good about themselves. Well for $139 a month i can pat my son on the back and tell him he is great but that is not going to help should he get in a fight. The so called black belts looked as though they could not fight there way out of a paper bag. Making the kids FEEL GOOD is great but how are they going to feel when they find themselves in a place were they have to defend themselves and they get beat up! that burst of bubble will have the kids questioning everything else in there lives. When i sent the email that my son will no longer attend his dojo, i still got charged the following month, even though my son had not attended. I also received an email that i will be charged an additional month as they had a two month cancel policy. So they charge me $279 for a kid who is not even attending the school. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art. It combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. For a Master to tell me its NOT used for self defense but only for self confidence REALLY made my head spin. I took 2 years of karate in college and i learned more in my first month than my son did in the time he was at this school. If you want your kid to FEEL all warm and snuggly inside this is the school for them, but if you want your kid to actually LEARN something about SELF-DEFENSE then i would look else were. BYT when i asked about the 1980's trophy and if they actually do have sparring with other dojo's so that the kids can actually practice what they learned the master again said NO not really as that is not what they teach....REALLY! Very unhappy mom
