Our son has been there since he was five months old, and is thriving in the preschool prep. The school itself is sun-filled, clean, and meticulously planned. There's a gym that they use for all kinds of activities, from yoga to riding trikes in doors on cold days. The playground is lovely and the kids are encouraged to play and get dirty. We get lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. The director is active, communicative, and transparent. You can tell the team loves each other, and all the children. Obviously there will be turnover every now and then, that's the nature of early childhood education and having a young staff, but much of the staff has been there the entire three and a half years we've attended. All the food is organic and offers many allergy-friendly options. There's music classes and STEM enrichments. Every day seems like the best day ever -- art, singing, sooo many activities. They do lots of little performances and parent-involved events, and you really do build a community of families. There's a reason there's a waitlist -- once you go Kensington, there's no going back.

More importantly, we love the teachers and admin at KLA: Ms. Tiffany has been my 4 year old's teacher from the very beginning. She is down to earth, fun, and really connects with the kids. When I asked my daughter who her best friend was the other day, one of the 3 people she listed included Ms. Tiffany. My 4 year old is very shy but over time has opened up a lot more at school and improved her social skills with the help of Ms. Tiffany. Ms. Lisa is my 2 year old's teacher. She has young children of her own and she treats my daughter as one of own. I can tell how much she cares for and looks after my little one. Ms. Melissa is the art teacher - she works with all the children at KLA. She is incredibly nice, creative, and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the kids. Ms. Heather is the principal. She is very responsive to parents and has been a pleasure to work the past 7 months. Martial arts and music class is part of the curriculum. I am also impressed by the Spanish exposure the kids get. My 2 yr old surprised me one day when she started counting her toys in Spanish without being prompted. My older daughter has attended 5 different daycares, and by far we have been the most impressed with KLA. I never worry about the quality of care my girls get while I'm at work. Ms. Gaby (3 yr old class) is a great teacher - she is warm and deals well with all of the different personalities of the children. My daughter loves going to school there and since the stay at home order has gone into affect, the school has done a great job with conducting lessons via Zoom. This has really helped keep some normalcy for my child and they have gone above and beyond to prioritize the kids over all else. I highly recommend KLA to all my friends with children.

He's learning to interact with his friends and be part of a group. All of those pre-k skills like colors, shapes, the alphabet, numbers, etc are part of the curriculum. The very first day they arrived, upon picking them up my son had marks all on his arm as if he was bitten several times. I brought It to the attention of the front desk and they managed to calm me down and reassure me they would review the cameras - they never did. As a parent, I should have trusted my intuition and removed them from this facility that very first day. My son would come home and tell us that his teacher, Ms. Amanda, didn't like him so we requested a classroom change with Ms. Jezera who was absolutely amazing. My daughter had a consistent revolving door of teachers; her nose would be completely crusted upon pickup as if she wasn't being tended to. Jezera and her sister Jasenia, who later became my daughters teacher, as well as Ms. Brittney are easily the only teachers in the entire facility that I trusted with my children. Once my son aged out of Ms. Jezera's class he was placed into a classroom with Katie's son, the director. All of a sudden they claimed he was having behavioral issues when in actuality he was being bullied by Katie's son and other classmates and management refused to do anything about it despite our continuous requests for a classroom change, which was once honored previously. Katie shows complete favoritism towards her children and would make inappropriate comments to my child. There is a current DCFS investigation as well as attorneys involved due to an incident that occurred on 7/12. Upon picking my children up from this facility, my son had marks on his hips telling me his teacher, Ms. Terrah was pinching him ( as part of disciplinary measures) upon review of their cameras and an exam of my child these accusations proved to be 100% correct. The only thing I commend this daycare on is their swift response as Terrah was terminated within the hour, however, their continuous lack of due diligence in hiring competent staff and addressing issues at their core would have prevented the continuous mistreatment of my son during his entire enrollment here. This facility over the course of the entire 18 months continued to lose my trust and the ONLY reason I kept putting faith in them is due to the strong relationships I had with the teachers listed; their promise to ensure my children were safe was appreciated but they of course can only do so much. This is the first and last daycare my children will ever attend!

The director and staff at COA in Oswego are so unprofessional on many levels. I am going to start by saying my son (who happens to have mild Autism) was hired as a Teaching Assistant. This was told to them on his resume, as well as discussed at the interview. He was hired at COA about 6 months ago. Since being hired, he has been picked on, made to do work that other TA's are not made to do ( ex. clean all floors and toys in all classrooms). Written up for incidents that were embellished by other staff as a means to get him in trouble. Treated with disrespect and now after today called a racist because of a mis-pronunciation of a last name. His own family is comprised of 4 different races. He doesn't have a mean or racist bone in his body. My son, even through all of this, has continued to show up and work every day. He has taken the 10:30 am lunch even when he got to work at 9 am and others have been working since 6 am. He never complained about this unfair treatment due to feeling like he could lose his job all the time. It was evident in his anxiety that he felt left out and not supported at all. He recently had his hours cut, supposedly due to lack of enrollment. Although the center hired 4 new staff since he was hired and he was the staff with hours cut to 15 hours a week. They have treated him like he wouldn't know better and continuously pick on him. They expected him to be alone in a classroom, and because he spoke up and said he wasn't comfortable with this, his hours were cut. What a sad and unfortunate work experience for a young man who just felt he would like to work with young children. As he comes from a family who fostered other children throughout his life. He has had experience working and caring for kids quite a bit, just not in the daycare setting. As his Mom, I really felt this would be a great opportunity for him. How sad of COA to treat someone who is "different " with such disrespect that he no longer wants to work in an environment like that. I doubt you would want your children attending a place that treats their employees this way either. I know I wouldn't. If I thought my son could have written this himself, I would have him do so. His disabilities don't define him. His heart does. We will move on from here, but not without speaking our TRUTH.

No accident/injury/illness/issue goes without advanced notice to the parent directly and a written report for home and school files. Lots of opportunities and events to engage parents and extended family. And the curriculum in each classroom has proven to help my child succeed in all of the developmental stages and socializing with others. I always know my child is in incredible, loving, nurturing hands at Children of America!
