We often over look the teachers that teach our kids in the most subtle and profound ways. I wanted to take a moment to recognize two of these teachers in my children's lives. Three of my four children have been attending Jin Martial Arts for almost a year. Master Brett and Master Jeff never fail to amaze me with how they teach, guide and run their school. Both Master Brett and Master Jeff have unwavering patience with children of all ages. I have had the pleasure of watching the Tiny Tornadoes class while my 6 year old was in it and their ability to keep 4 -6 year olds focused and showing respect is impressive. Master Brett has a remarkable way of speaking to kids, especially this younger age group. He speaks to them on their level while not speaking down to them and puts some of life's most valuable lessons in words that they can process and understand. Master Jeff is equally patient and kind. As the kids move up in classes, the expectations change while always remaining age appropriate. Students' personal growth is the focus. The growth I have seen in my children since starting classes at Jin Martial Arts has been tremendous. It goes without saying that they have grown physically, my 11 year old daughter can do push-ups. As a parent, the growth that may not be as obvious; confidence, respect, taking responsibility for their actions, treatment of siblings, just to name a few; is invaluable. Master Brett and Master Jeff truly care for their students and want to see them succeed, the theme being to improve yourself and try your best. They have created an environment that parents can feel welcome in and that we are all there to support each other and the students; they have created a village. It is hard to find words to describe the positivity and kindness that Master Brett and Master Jeff have created. Positivity and kindness feel like a cliche that doesn't fully explain the teaching style and community that is Jin Martial Arts. It is so much more than that. Master Brett and Master Jeff are true leaders and teach above all else by example of how they conduct themselves. They are teaching more than martial arts; they are teaching how to be better. They give our future hope. Watching them interact with our youth is refreshing and humbling. To Master Brett and Master Jeff, thank you. Thank you for all you do for our kids. It matters. -Emily Ciarletto (Landon, Valerie and Everett's mom)

Great environment for children to learn Tae Kwon Do, gain strength and confidence, learn respect along with practical self defense skills! As an adult student of his, going from second to third degree black belt, I am truly developing into a better martial artist with each class! I'm gaining strength and flexibility I didn't think I could acheive at this age (late 30s). Master Jung really pays attention to detail, sees what areas you need to work on and brings a plan to help you reach those goals. I'm getting a great workout, learning new self defense techniques and having fun. Since working with him to fine tune certain skills, I've gone to a couple competitions, including ILLINOIS STATE, and brought home a combination of gold, silver and bronze medals. If I could give him 10 stars I would. Hoping his business continues to grow, he's a great addition to the area, I hope families take advantage of his presence!!!

He is shy to new situations but Master Jung is very engaging with his students and the Little Tigers classes are so well taught. Master Jung is pleasant to be around, always with a warm smile and welcomes families and persons of all ages and levels into his studio. The location is great with plenty of parking and just off route 30.

Sparring class is getting hazardous big kids taking advantage when they spar with younger kids and lower belts not a fair match. Too many students 20kids to 30+ in 1 class with 1 instructor or 2. They pass every students on belt testing even w/o knowing the forms and kicks. You can walk by and get your FREE Black belt even w/o any skills. You paid for it! Best place if you are just looking to babysit your kids for 45 mins. Though you can find a cheaper ones for sure. They charge $159/monthly + $70/ belt testing and $60 Uniform + $150 Membership fee( Idk what's the membership for) The Facility is very legit when it comes to nastiness, chairs, mats dirty, carpets smells. Not to mention the obnoxious Moms who chitchat during the class when you couldn't hear what's the instructors are saying bec of the buzzing sounds in the back. Annoying. Best place to waste your $$$. Eventually a heavy set man came out of his office and started shouting commands, I think once he realized that there was some one else watching that was new. There were a few parents sitting on a bench which seemed a little tacky. I had asked one of the parents what they were paying and could not justify paying the cost that was mentioned for such a bland looking facility. There was very little energy. I have 2 kids that are very interested in getting involved in martial arts and we found a great place in St. Charles that has a totally different energy when you walk in. My advice is this is not the place for your kids or even as an adult which it looked liked both kids and adults were together, very odd.

We were not impressed. This is definitely not somewhere that you should bring your kids to teach them morals and ethics. From what I can see by the other ratings, these people must know the owner because from what we've sen, they are not being truthful. he seems to be more worried about growing his class sizes then paying attention to the kids and their needs which is a shame. It's all about the students but not in this case. The pictures below are of his own kids.

While after 6 years, my daughter has moved onto Cheerleading full-time, Ha's training served as a good basis to build up other skills. I, on the other hand, continue to go today (9+ years later). Originally it was a great way to de-stress from my day and learn some new skills. As time has gone on, I have found (and continue to find) it helps me to grow both physically and mentally. The Grand Master and his instructors want to focus on personal growth and becoming a better person as a result of the training. Having talked to people whom have gone to other gyms, what stands out about Ha's TKD (unlike other gyms) they are not just trying to 'push' you through the process to get a black belt as quickly as possible. They are more focused on character and skills development. They like to ensure you learn the skills to take you to the next (belt) level prior to going to that level. You promote to the next belt when both you and the instructors are confident with your skills. When I think about the amount of growth in skills, flexibility, strength, focus over the years, I am amazed why I did not start sooner! Thanks Master Ha!!
