Charged me $100+ for that, then promised me the vehicle will be done same day, also was a lie. Cathy is the only person in that business that knows what she's doing. The owner is extremely rude and left me a nasty message about my car being in their lot after he said it was no problem. He was looking for any reason to hike up the price on me. I saw other reviews with the same context but I always try a place before I judge. Well here it is. DO NOT GO HERE! Vandike auto repair is leagues better and their labor rate is lower than this god forsaken place.

We had taken our Kia Sorrento for an oil change while visiting the Albany area. It needed 6 quarts of oil to complete. We thought they probably forgot to reset the Oil Change indicator message afterwards so we reset it. Three days later, started getting dashboard messages for oil low, then today red check engine light. We did not see any visible signs of a leak but dash warnings were glaring. Looked up Yelp reviews for most reputable place and it said Central Auto service. They were closing soon but said bring it in. Sure enough, when they checked the dipstick it was dry, no oil. They removed the engine guard panel and oil began spilling out everywhere. The previous place had used the wrong size seal. I was hours away from seizing my engine. They let me take videos of the entire process so I can send back to previous service center for reimbursement. I can't thank this place enough for saving my car and my weekend as I need to travel out of state tomorrow. I highly recommend Central Auto for their honesty, transparency and help

They said it would take about 90 minutes and it was ready on time. However, when I went up to pay, there was now a gentleman quoting me $210. Great okay. I swipe my card and go on my way without realizing that they charged me $229. I call when I get home and explain the discrepancy. The woman responded and said "sure can you come in?" I thought it was plausible I would get the additional money back but when I get there she said "oh it's because we charge 3% on credit card payments" which is a crazy statement because I used a DEBIT card, they did more than a 3% fee and they couldn't tell me that on the phone before I wasted 30 minutes? This place is a joke, you're better off going somewhere else.

Bringing my car somewhere for repairs I've felt uncomfortable and in over my head, wondering if I'm getting ripped off. A few days ago someone side swiped my drivers side mirror while it was parked on the street. I did some research on local mechanics and called Maggianos. They picked up immediately and said they'd be available that day to take a look. From the start I was given great, honest, friendly service that included price estimates and regular updates on my side mirror. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly, and within two days I had a brand new side mirror installed. I'm thrilled to have found a reliable mechanic in my neighborhood, and couldn't be happier with my experience.

This is my third visit to Ken's Automotive…read more I brought my car back to Ken's for an oil change and made a separate appointment for brakes. I was shocked by the price of an oil change (it was higher than Jiffy Lube and Midas) but the price for brakes was less than what I have paid in the past at other auto shops. I'm still in sticker shock of the oil change but the upside is that I'm a 5K mile change instead of a 3K mile change due to the limited driving (car is 11 years old with 93K miles). I have an appointment to replace my car brakes which barely based the annual inspection so at the time of this review, my car is with the shop awaiting for repairs.

Recently my car was hitting bumps really hard and I took the car in to get looked at. I told them that I think its the rear struts but they insisted it was the tires so I replaced all the tires at their recommendation. After replacing the tires I thought the car was fine for a while until I got on the highway and heard a loud humming sound. I took the car back in to get looked at and they tell me that the sound is coming from the tires wearing uneven. Now im getting angry because I just replaced all the tires. He tells me that I have to REPLACE THE STRUTS AND SHOCKS to resolve it. I assumed that the new tires woul be covered by them for misdiagnosing the car in the first place. He tells me no the tires are not covered and on top of that they want another 243.00 just to flip my DAMAGED TIRES to make an attempt at reucing the tire damage. UNBELIEVABLE!! So not only do i have to buy shocks and struts that i suspected was the issue in the first place I have to pay for them to try and reduce the tire damage on my new tires. Needless to say I wont be going back but I hope this review helps others. I see there is another review of them doing the same thing to someone else. Damaged their engine and didnt take responsibility. They wanted to bill the customer for more work.
