I had work done by Works Plumbing due to a leaking water heater. They came over, quickly assessed the situation and contacted my home warranty company to ask for the needed water heater. The whole process was relatively quick and they were attentive to the fact that my house didn't have a shut-off valve for the water heater and so I didn't have any water for 2 days(they fixed the shut-off valve issue too). They were there once the home warranty company got them a water heater with three guys and made quick work, about 3 hours, to fix my water heater, flue, and reroute the pipes so that they were all accessible to the shut-off valves of both gas and water. The inspector came by and gave it a thumbs up and I was happy with how they cleaned up the place and did quality work. read more

I was a previous 5-star reviewer for Works but today had an unsettling experience. Maybe a year or so ago Works came to our house, unclogged a drain and charged $125. I gave a rave review and filed Patrick's card. This morning we found our basement drain was plugged and I called Works right away and was told we'd have a tech between 1PM-3PM and they would call first to say they were on their way. About 2PM, we heard someone calling "Hello! Hello! in our garage and it was the Work tech (Douglas). I explained we had a simple plugged drain, probably toilet paper, and that the whole main line had already been replaced the year before so we knew it wasn't anything major like tree roots etc. Douglas informed me it would be $475. to snake the drain. Right. $475. I told him we had it done before for $125., and still had the paperwork and Patrick's card and couldn't believe he was quoting $475. Douglas said he'd call the office and "..they'd send the other guy" ~ whatever that meant. I also called the office, questioned the quote and said I was a previous customer. The lady said she'd call back...and did in about 10 minutes with a new quote of $275. to clean a plugged pipe. We took a pass on something that has never cost more than $169.00, from any number of "rooter companies" in Daly City. As it turned out, we tried a 1/2 gallon of drain cleaner...waited and hour, stuck the garden hose in the drain and it cleared. We were lucky. But, maybe for a senior citizen with no other choice, this $475. quote in the moment seemed a bit over the top. Just reporting. My suggestion to Works is they might mention their pricing schedule over the phone for simple rooting. read more

We had an issue with our sewer pipe. Angel came out and asked me about what my concerns were. He brought out his rotocamera and placed it in my sewer pipe. As the camera went down the pipe he thoroughly explained what the camera was showing. A prior rooter company tried to tell me that I had a cracked leaking pipe. Works Plumbing & Rooter, by far, is the best plumbing service we've had - and we've had a LOT of plumbing work done at our house over the years. Our water line underground pipe developed a leak late Saturday and water was coming out through the foundation. We were frantically calling plumbers Saturday night to come that same night, if possible, to diagnose the problem and propose a solution/estimate. It's a nightmare when problems like this arise on a weekend. We also called friends to recommend plumbers they used as we didn't want to go back to those we dealt with in the past due to unfavorable results and experiences. We got hold of two that evening who showed up (separately) one full hour or more from the time of our call. A third plumber said he'd come Sunday afternoon but was a complete no show. Not satisfied with the evaluation and horrified by estimates given, we called other plumbers and finally got hold of Works Plumbing on Sunday afternoon after checking them out on the internet. Jorge Besinga (the boss) was at our door within 20 minutes from our call. He evaluated the problem immediately and proposed the best, most economical and expeditious solution. Jorge is knowledgeable about his work, articulate, polite and respectful. You just knew in your gut you're dealing with an honest and competent person. His price is fair, acceptable and a whole lot less than what others quoted. All work was COMPLETED TO OUR SATISFACTION within the time stated in spite of bad weather during their scheduled work days. I interviewed several plumbers and the only plumbing contractor that took the time to diagnose and confirm that the hot water line was broken is Jorge.
