The manager and front desk employee are not properly trained on how to cancel memberships. My husband went in to cancel 3 memberships. He was told I needed to COME IN to cancel mine and my son's as my name was on his account. This was back in May of this year. That was not the case. When I went in to cancel, I was told the process to cancel is thru email. I discovered after several attempts that I could not cancel my son's account or pay the balance as it had been sent to the collections agency. I had already asked the front desk employee what happens with an account that was sent to collections. She didn't understand that because my sons account was sent to collections already, I wasn't able to cancel and pay the fees. The front desk employee also did not explain to me that I would need to set up user names and passwords to access both of these accounts. They sent an email with the reference number but they do not explain that you need to access your account to do this. Very time consuming and beyond frustrating. Clearly, these people do not know how their own process works. We ended up paying an additional hundred dollars to this collections agency because my husband was told the wrong information back in May. Very unprofessional, they take no accountability. read more

the staff here is so disappointing. They are rude and entitled. Each one loves to have a power trip and take advantage of their positions. If your thinking of joining don't. As a college student I have been a member here and at the Marietta location on and off for the past 3 years. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. There are tons of cardio machines, weight machines, and a large area with free weights. The bathroom/locker room area is clean. However, if you decide to leave your stuff in the locker room, I do recommend that you bring a lock (just to be safe). I have worked out here both late at night and early in the morning and have felt safe. There is usually at least one other person working out here at any given time of the day. I tried the abs class once with Shane and it was awesome! Can't say anything about group fitness because its relatively new. Overall, the vibe here is great and the people are really approachable. There's a good mix of people too: husband/wife, singles late 20s-30s, college, recent college grads, a few high schoolers, 60s-70s. To Ricky and Scott, I am truly sorry that you had a bad experience with membership cancellation. This gym collects payments for contracts, just like many other gyms, with a third party. When you sign a contract, they submit your info to a billing company who charges the monthly amount. If you look at the contract, it says that unless you mail a termination request to this billing company 30 days before your contract is up you will continue to be charged. Calling the gym to cancel won't help you because they cannot send this request to the billing company on your behalf. I am pretty sure there is a clause on the contract that says after your membership is up you will be charged on a month to month basis. You can make your contract NON RENEWABLE, meaning it is only for the term specified and you will not continue to be charged. You must ask for this option. All of this is spelled out on the contract. It seems daunting when you first look at it because there is so much info but don't be afraid to ask for some time to look it over before you sign. Ask questions! They are more than eager to help you understand the terms. read more

I have been a member of Workout Anytime since they opened. There is no way that you can find a place with better equipment, customer service or price anywhere. So I went in to check in on a membership, which they advertised for $15 a month. The club is decent, nothing great and people seemed friendly. But that's where the good news ends. The $15 a month, doesn't include a $49 enrollment fee. So what is the point of month to month if you have to pay $50 to enroll. And then the kicker is, in order to guarantee the $15 a month rate, you have to pay another $30 every year. So in order to save the money, you have to spend more money. What a scam. I just joined the gym down the street. The month to month is a little bit more expensive. But no enrollment and no fees. Much better to deal with than these guys. read more

While the gym is fine and very convenient for me and the employees are friendly, it needs an upgrade. Last week the one and only flat bench fell apart, many pieces of equipment are loose and wiggly, bolts missing etc. They provide floor mats but they are all torn and worn (I mean how expensive could it be to replace them occasionally). There are pieces of the flooring baseboard peeling off and it's been that way for weeks. There is a chewed up piece of gum on the window sill that's been there for weeks. The paint is flaky and peeling, and dust bunnies all over. Like I said the gym is fine and has most of the equipment one needs to get a good workout, it's just old, outdated, and dirty. The owner does not like to replace equipment and is not typically open to purchasing anything new. I mean you get what you pay for, so for $19 a month I guess this is what you get. A deep clean would go a long way. read more

I was a member here and there are few things I regret more. I tried to cancel and they continued charging my account for 2 extra months. Had to dispute through American Express (was refunded) and then somehow my membership was activated. Just got a letter that states that I'm about to go into collections for lack of payment. Never join here. Either their payment and membership systems are haywire or they are fraudulently attempting to get payment from canceled members. Either way, it's a horrible operation. read more

I typically don't write reviews, but this place was SO awful that it deserves one, and I must let the generally public know about this place before you join. The equipment is good. Nothing fancy, just typically stuff really. They do not have a power rack, and upon joining, they told me they were working on getting one, and it shouldn't take more than a few months. I could live with that. A little over a year later and still no rack. I talked to the manager who said it was a liability issue with them being open 24/7. No worries, but is was this same manager who told me it was only going to take a few months before I was a member in order for me to sign up... hmmmm..... But lets get to the good stuff, the billing. This is a no contract gym membership that I paid month to month. After my card got lost a first time, I was yelled at through the office to come inside. Very professional.... Apparently, I forgot to update my payment information and was past due, and was charged an additional $19, more than a months membership, because the payment didn't go through. I asked for them to waive it, but its a third party billing company and the actual brick and mortar gym can't do it. So I paid, and went about my day. Fast forward a few months and my card again gets stolen, and I don't update my information. At this point, I'm not really working out because of my two jobs and being a full time college student about to graduate. Unfortunately, I figured, like many others I'm sure will, that if my card is not allowing charges to go through because it was stolen, that the gym membership would simply be canceled, seeing as you can't access the gym after you're overdue anyways. Low and behold, I have been getting charged for a few months despite their charges not going through, and they've now threatened to go to a collection agency, as if their billing company isnt one... So not only do I have to deal with school, and two different jobs, making ends barely meet, but now I have to pay off this debt that has accumulated for no apparent reason. My phone is month to month as well, and if i forget to pay, it simply gets disconnected until I make the next payment. Not here. They continue to charge you and will send to collection. DO NOT JOIN. Pay a little extra and go to anytime fitness on Barrett Pkwy, or planet fitness on cobb pkwy if you need 24/7 or 24/5. if you need regular gym hours, the YMCA is great, as well as youfit. I doubt that any of these places will be as horrible as workout anytime in regards to billing and cancellation. This has to be illegal... read more

I called the location in Kennesaw in July of this year to cancel the membership. I have my name and personal information and was told it would be terminated per my request. The location is at 1600 Kennesaw Due West Road NW Kennesaw, GA 30152. Today, I see yet another billing for $15.00. I call again and am told by someone named Michelle that I have to fill out a form to have this done (first time I am hearing this), everyone there knows that (not my problem), and I have no recourse. This is wrong. I have filed a complaint with the Atlanta Better Business Bureau and the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs. I have opened a fraudulent charge investigation with Visa. Visa suggested I demand the immediate refund of $75 to my credit card that has been charged for July, August, September, October, and now November. I have waited and been more than patient. They have taken money from me fraudulently and I demand it back. I know it's only $75, but this company has no right to steal it from me. read more

This place in under new management lately, and everything has been "overhauled" (for lack of a better term. Everything looks better after some renovations, and I think that the new management cares about the place a lot more. In any case, the price is low and more of these are popping up all the time in GA, so I would certainly recommend it. read more

Workout Anytime in Kennesaw has a great group of health fitness professionals waiting to train you and motivate you. They offer ZUMBA Dance classes, and an array of other fun quick step with rythum workouts. They have tanning beds for you to use which makes it conveinent when trying to look your best for the bikini season. But best of all the great service and personalities that work there. I joined because of the location and the fact that I can literally workout anytime that my schedule allows. I have found that it's not worth the monthly price, plus there are a bunch of "hidden fees" when you sign up. The gym seriously needs some updating -- everything from flooring to equipment. It feels grunge and dirty. They have spray disinfectant and towels to wipe machines. However, the towels are super wet and disgusting. They should be changed out around 3 times a day, but I think they only do it once a day, so you are stuck with wiping machines in a nasty soaking wet towel that has been filled with sweat. Speaking of sweat, I don't know if I sweat more for my workout or the lack of air conditioning. They need more ceiling fans, especially around the cardio area. I have not had a good experience in dealing with the owner/manager. No customer service, no personality, very standoffish and impersonal -- doesn't even express a greeting when you walk in or when you leave. And he's sitting right there at the front desk by the door. So why do I keep up my membership? Exactly what I stated above... good location and the ability to work out on my schedule. Wish there was another conveniently located gym. read more

I have been a member for 5+ years and during that time have witnessed the facilities and equipment slowly deteriorate. The cardio equipment is (and has been for some time) begging for maintenance if not replacement as nearly all of it squeaks, grinds, creaks, sticks, is missing parts, etc. Most of the strength training machines have similarly seen better days with the weight stickers on many of the plates missing, seats not adjusting properly (or worse, adjusting themselves mid-lift) along with being just generally finicky. Despite there being an additional annual club upkeep fee (which per the posted signage is for club improvement and equipment upgrades) i have yet to see a single new piece of equipment show up. Early on i do recall some facility upgrades including a handful of ceiling fans (which now wobble and squeak) and window shades (which have seen better days) but there has not been a single obvious investment made into the facility in several years. On the plus side, the staff is nice enough and the other members are generally polite and considerate. read more

The trainers are ass holes. One lady trainer yelled at me for a weight that I had nothing to do with dropping. God for bid my grip gave out on 315 deadlift she yelled at me for that. Also I asked another trainer to spot he was just standing there doing nothing told me I don't pay him so he doesn't have to. The workers there are rude asked a guy about the wifi three times and he got bitchy with me. God for bid I expected them to have their shit working. Then the same dude refused to change the channels on the tv cause of other members I was the only one on the treadmills I wanted to watch first take. read more

This gym started out being a great place but lately things are going down hill. The gym is lacking cleanliness in the restrooms, dressing rooms and studio that they offer group fitness in. There are never paper towels or any soap in the restrooms which mean people are using the restroom and then touching all the equipment and spreading germs which is how people get sick. Most facility's are cleaned daily but this is not one of them. The group fitness studio has no air condition what so ever. I can't believe they won't turn the air up or on and we are paying customers. We should not have to suffer from heat exhaustion as we try to get a productive work out. The price has even went up since the spring for classes only to $59 so we should at least get the same comfort as the other half of the facility that has equipment and air conditioning blowing all day long. The staff is friendly but it seems the management or ownership is too busy cutting corners trying to save money on things that actually make the gym a cleaner and more appealing facility. I really wish they would make the improvements to make it a better place here because it does have the potential to be a great place like it once was. read more
