Fairfield Island Plumbing - Pressure relief valve installed by Fairfield

Fairfield Island Plumbing

We all make mistakes, although when you don't take responsibility and lie about it, that's where I…read morehave the issue. I had Fairfield Island Plumbing (Chilliwack) install a new water heater in 2017, they did a great job. Fast forward to November 2024, I had them attend, same tech as before to replace the pressure relief valve on the water heater. After tech leaves I was cleaning up the furnace room, and noted the pressure relief valve was used. These are the following emails: " I have a question wasn't this valve supposed too be new?" "I'm not in on Mondays, so I wasn't able to speak to Shawn until today. He said the part is new, it was in his truck stock. Unfortunately, the parts do not come wrapped and sometimes get scratched as there may be multiple parts in the bin together. If you have any other questions, please let me know." "I can understand parts getting scratched, although this is rust even on the shaft it's rusty. Here's a better picture. This not a new part " "I can understand your concern, I know the part itself does not look pretty. I did confirm again with Shawn that he took the part from his truck stock and it has never been previously installed. I will send Shawn to the wholesalers and pick up another new one and install it for you. Our reputation as a business and as licensed & bonded commercial plumbers is very important to us and I can assure you that we do not install used parts. We never want our customers to be unhappy with the quality of our products or our services and would like to make this right for you. I have availability next Wednesday and Thursday to set up a time that is convenient for you. Let me know and I will get it on the schedule." "With all do respect, I had another plumber attend today and it was also stated the pressure relief valve is used. I have also attached the manufacturer's part for reference, which is completely different in condition from the one installed.I would like you to pass this onto to the owner for feedback." "I have forwarded all correspondence to the owner for his review. He is unfortunately away this week but will be returning next week." This week has past and they did not reach out to me. Judge for yourself from the pictures. The part Fairfield installed and the mfg part I also reached out to three other plumbers for an assessment, all three stated part was used. Also when they installed the water heater they made sure there were no air lock(s) in the system, after recent installation I'm now left with air lock(s) that are banging through my pipes when I'm gone for mare than a day. I have replaced the pressure relief valve on my own and will remove the air lock(s) I did not accept their offer to come back and replace the pressure relief valve, as they have lost my trust to do an adequate repair. In closing I would not recommend Fairfield Island Plumbing to do any plumbing work, and if you do, check all the parts before installation, ask lots of questions, and definitely watch their work, as you don't want to be a victim, that may cost you more money in the long term.

Vedder Residential - The Vedder Residential Service Van

Joseph Arnusch with "Vedder Residential" installed our A\C unit in 2021. I paid $10k for a heating…read more& A/C system with two headers, for our townhouse. The first year was good, although the job was somewhat shoddy. Lines/pipes visible. Black electrical tape holding things together. But, we overlooked the presentation, as we had glorious AC in sweltering BC heat. In less than a year, the unit started leaking. In our kitchen. Above our cabinets. The cabinets were ruined from the water leakage. I tried to call/email/text Joseph for follow up maintenance work. All contact attempts failed. Phone no longer in service. No calls returned. What should have been warranty work, has cost us thousands in out of pocket expenses, to prevent a shit unit & install from calving completely. Not just leakage, black mold build up, cold air blowing outside, not enough fluids, ice build up internally....absolutely brutal. This is not a cheap investment. If you want quality work, stay away from Vedder Residential and Joseph Arnusch to have work done. You'll be on your own. If I could give a zero Rating I would. Shame on you, scammer.

Not only was he less expensive than the competition but he corrected a problem with the original install! This company gets a big thumbs up for prompt, polite service and no hard sales tactics. The other guys tried to sell me everything from a $500+ furnace filter to a hot water on demand system, rather than just fixing the problem - no heat!
