This is just my experience, so make your decision AFTER you tour. All parents are different, and some families have different wants/needs. Our needs were met and our expectations were surpassed! They had a lot of events which allowed us to be involved with the teachers and other parents too! Trunk or treat, Easter Bunny, Cookouts, etc! The review that I made 11 months ago when we unenrolled I just noticed a response and it said that we had never enrolled or been part of that school. I then started to look and noticed that several of the reviews that were one star had a similar comment about not being legitimate. I'm here to say that that is 1000% false. Please see our enrollment and disenrollment information Make your own decision by reading reviews, but just also know that the one star reviews are more than likely accurate especially with the level of specificity that was provided. This is a bold face lie saying that negative reviewed. People are not part of the Childrens Lighthouse records.

Mind you, not that I had any issues with them, they were great and loving with our baby but I don't deem it babysitting if the TV is doing the work. @_@ So out I went online looking for schools near our home that's affordable. Of course, I had my list of schools we went to and of course, we went to all the tours but the tour we had at Smart Steps was great. The only reason I said that is because my son reacted positively towards Jamila, the director of the school. The school left an impression on me as far as the teacher-student ratio, the simplicity in the school, and the attitude Jamila had about her program. After talking with my husband about it, we were convinced that this is the school for our son. We had some sort of issues with the pediatrician (who is no longer our pediatrician because of this) that our son had a speech delayed and was encouraged to go see a speech therapist to help develop his speech. Of course, being a first time mom I went ahead and started up the program. But after hearing what others had to say and the firm conviction of Jamila that my son did not need it as he will be in the school (and of course that he was still a bit too small) that he will develop the speech skills he need. And indeed he did! He says so many words now at the age of 2. He speaks English and Spanish as well as signs and this is because of his environment at school and being around children his age gave him the learning experience to start his speaking skills. In only 7 months did my son start speaking well and picking up things so fast. When he's home, he picks up his toys and puts them back where they belong without me having to ask. He listens very well and at the dinner table, he waits patiently for me to bring him a plate of food. There's so many things I can list it'd be endless! My husband and I are truly satisfied and truly happy to have decided to put our son in this program and wouldn't have had it any other way!

Global is a happy place of fun and learning with great class room setups and a really fun outdoor space! All the staff here are lovely and kind, and I never met anyone who gave me bad vibes. The scheduling is flexible, enrichment classes such as music and dance are included, and there are plenty opportunities for families to be more involved; my husband and I both signed up to read to the class during Literacy Week, and I had a blast volunteering during a Valentine's Day party. Its obvious they love what they do, and you can see the attachment form as they get to care for your little one. They have a solid curriculum, even for the little babies! Every week, they would have her focus on expressions, shapes, developing the senses, and community play. The sleeping situation took a bit of getting used to. There are strict guidelines laid out by the state, that they have to follow, so while our baby didn't get a dark and quiet nap space with a sound machine and blackout curtains (due to the state mandated guidelines, you wont get that anywhere), she did develop skills to fall asleep in more difficult situations, and learned how to self soothe to sleep. WIN! The front office is also lovely. Kayla and the crew are always welcoming, and the communication is stellar and consistent. They have an app where they share daily updates on food intake, nap times, activities, and pictures of your baby. It's scary, putting your infant in child care. This place makes it easy on everyone. From the first day I left our baby, I felt she was in excellent hands. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I would happily recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nurturing place for their children.

In their reply, they referenced "previous ownership" -- THIS IMPLIES THEY ARE DISTANCING THEMSELVES FROM THE INCIDENT AND SUGGESTING IT OCCURRED BEFORE THEY TOOK OVER, which is completely false and misleading. so as of july 9,2025 there is another "new owner"?? --------- We've been with Primrose School at Vista Ridge for nearly two years with no prior issues. We always paid on time, had a good relationship with staff, and trusted them with our son's care. Unfortunately, that trust was completely broken by how they handled repeated biting incidents -- especially the most recent one. Over the past few months, my son was bitten multiple times. We accepted the incident reports and moved on, thinking these things happen. But every time I asked my son who bit him, it was always the same child. On May 6, my son did not attend school because he had a fever over the weekend and was still recovering. He returned on May 7, and that same day, he came home with a bite on his face, just under his eye. As a parent, that's terrifying. You don't get a bite like that unless a child grabs and restrains another -- this wasn't a minor mark, and it wasn't something that should ever happen under proper supervision. And yet, the child who bit him was allowed back in class the very next day like nothing happened. All I received was a vague checkbox-style report with no narrative, no real explanation, and no documentation of what steps were taken. When I told staff on May 8 that I didn't want the same child seated near my son, I was ignored. The very next day, I saw photos showing them seated right next to each other again. To make matters worse, the school's solution was to offer to transfer my son -- the victim -- to another class not even his age group, away from his friends. When I asked why the other child wasn't moved, I was told the other parents were "willing to work with the behavioral plan," while I was the one complaining -- so my child was the one they offered to relocate. I guess you can truly measure a childcare center not by how smoothly things go on a good day, but by how they handle a serious situation -- and whether they stand up for the child who was harmed. In this case, they failed completely. Since then, I've toured several other daycares in the area. Most charge around $305 per week, including meals. We were paying $370 per week at Primrose. I realize we were being overcharged for substandard supervision and no accountability. Parents, please be warned. If something goes wrong here, don't expect transparency, accountability, or any effort to truly protect your child.

Primrose is a dream! The owner Jerry is there everyday and is extremely involved in the day to day operations to make sure parents and children are happy. The director Liz always has a smile on her face and willing to help in any way shape or form she can! They aren't the most affordable option in brushy creek but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. they pay their teachers the best so they end up with the best quality out there. They also have a director of curriculum and other operational specific staff. This means the school runs like a well oiled machine. Things I love about this place: 1. My 14 month old son has a young toddler specific safe playscape that they go out to twice daily. He LOVES the outdoors and climbing all over the place with friends! 2. Teachers are qualified and super sweet 3. Friday family memo goes out every week which includes weekly school activities (dress up days, celebrations etc, school calendar) 4. The chef is fantastic and my kids love the food she makes! 5. Low turnover. Director and owner know everyone both parents and kids by first name 6. Daily app explains what food they ate pictures, curriculum etc. 7. my children love going there! My daughter recently started kinder and though we like not having a daycare bill we really miss the insights and pictures and summaries of activities throughout the day.
