Not only did I find something he was more happy with, but also I found extremely adept caretakers at Trillium Montessori. The teachers are the real gold here. They are steady and consistent and have been there many years. They know their age up and down and truly care about children. The infant teacher we met first put me right at ease. She is hands-down one of the best humans I have met. Every teacher after is reliable, consistent, and educated in Montessori and development. The teachers made my experience going back to work much less stressful. I have full confidence in them. I have a second child now and happily sent her through the same set of teachers. In fact, I frequently asked the infant teacher for advice and input. There is are double locked doors to enter the center and there is a check-in and out kiosk where teachers can message and upload pictures after you check-in your child. I have never worried about my child's safety here. There are shoe drop caddies outside every room. No one wears shoes in the rooms.

In her class, my oldest went from not reading to reading in less than six months. Within three months he was writing full sentences with punctuation. I know she won't be there forever, but I hope she stays for at least three more years to teach my youngest! In just six weeks of elementary, my oldest has advanced in math and has been working with something called racks and tubes, which I learned is for long division. Recently, he brought home pages and pages of Roman numerals that he suddenly knows and was so excited to show me. My youngest isn't quite two and a half and he's already picking up books and trying to tell the story, counting to ten, and singing most of his ABCs. We're still working on a few letters, but I love that he loves learning. Oh, and they have chickens! We get fresh eggs often, and my kids love telling me how to take care of the chickens and explaining why they do all the things they do. I get quite the chicken education. My oldest has ADHD and was having some sensory issues last year. They sent me ideas for items they could order for him. I picked some out and honestly didn't think much more about it, but they actually ordered a wish list for my kid. They put those things on the classroom shelf like they were a normal part of the environment, so he didn't have to feel weird about needing them. He attended five different daycares before we found The Nest, and we never experienced that kind of support for his need to move and fidget. They listened and bought things to help him feel comfortable and participate. That honestly meant so much to me. They also have two dedicated special needs teachers to support kiddos like mine. Fabiola has been such a godsend. She's gotten to know my son and our family in such a short time, but somehow it feels like she's always been part of our journey. Having someone who really knows him and stays in touch with us makes such a difference. I also happen to know the owner bought extra clothes for another kid in my son's class when their family needed some support. She doesn't know that I know that, but those little things are part of what sets this place apart. They also started a fundraiser for my friend's daughter when she needed major surgery. The school contributed $2,000 themselves and offered her two months of free tuition for her daughter. They do food, diaper, and other supply drives a few times a year, too, and match donations from families. I've helped organize some of those drives as a parent volunteer, so I've gotten to see firsthand their genuine love and care. Last year, I joined a parent group chat hoping to make more parent friends, but I eventually stepped away because the conversations had become so negative. Most of what I was hearing didn't match our family's experience, so I met with the director and owner and asked my questions directly. They made time for me and talked everything through. I can't speak for anyone else, but I've always felt comfortable bringing concerns to them, and they've been open with me. They use an app to send pictures and updates, and I get weekly and monthly newsletters on top of daily communication. Beverly, the new director, is friendly and approachable. Whenever I have a question, she responds promptly and usually gives me a call right away. Both she and Fabiola reach out proactively, too, so I'm hearing from people who know my children and are paying attention to how they're doing. They do not answer their phones. 2. They are vague via email. 3. Can guarantee you as the parent, will have more professionalism and better customer service than whoever responds to email inquiries. The phone thing, I do not get it and do not agree. This was the ONLY childcare facility that did not answer their phones once in the dozen times that I called looking for information. Every single other daycare I shopped (over a dozen) either picked up the phone or called me back. How can a childcare facility not answer their phone? I digress I had to ask whoever was responding via email if they weren't enrolling because they did not come out and say it, I also had to ask about a waitlist because this information was not offered (emails to be posted). When I reached out to this facility I let them know what the situation was the response was "we are not enrolling for that program at this time". I was asking about part time, no information on full time was given, nothing about a waitlist (I still don't know the answer about a waitlist because they never responded) Customer service is easy, offer all of the information up front and answer any questions. I asked for a phone call, I let them know I may be misunderstanding their tone, none of this was ever addressed or answered. I wanted to go with this facility because it worked for our price point, schedules, and location. However, if this were the last childcare facility accepting in Austin I would not choose to use them. They don't answer the phone or return calls and seem pretty subpar at answering emails. I'm not usually one to leave a review in this regard however, I feel it important to parents looking for a school for their children to know that they are incredibly unresponsive. Not something that you want to be when taking care of children. I sincerely hope that no one else encounters the same frustrations.

This center just opened and Lashelle and Manoj were so helpful and understanding in our situation. So knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate them so much from the tour to our last day.
