Staffed by the kind of sweet girls with kindergarten haircuts that seem to rule in hip places like Brooklyn's Williamsburg, Luna & Curious is a beautifully realised little shop and a joy to visit whether you're looking to buy or simply browse.

I love some of the ceramic pieces they sell in here too and the antique stuff is fabulous. This place has great style and a great eclectic vibe going on which adds a spark of glamour to Brick Lane. I've even heard that Natalie Portman has visited and bought from this little boutique. It's definitely worth a look but don't be surprised if some of the prices are over budget.

Within this white walled warehouse space you will come across dresses built up out of lace, bunches of white rice paper roses and soft chains of jewellery. There is an organic theme tying the shop together, lightly fragranced by incense and structured in a mystical, meandering way with pieces hanging from the ceiling, on the floor and in all the spaces in between. During the week Story is open by appointment only but on a Sunday is open from 1pm. Hidden behind an overgrown willowy plant makes finding this shop even more of a delight.

The pendant was sent the very next day gift wrapped and in time for our wedding anniversary. I am glad in a way they are situated in London as if they were in Glasgow I would have serious problems resisting some of the pieces. Just great to see independents in High Streets full of blah.

I ended up getting a Monica Vinader ring which the wife loved as it was a bit different to the kind of jewellery you get on the high street. Looks like I have to go back for Valentines day now !

(The digirati are so 2008...)…read more This is truly my version of porn - while I'm not a slave for the jewels or the bling, and I won't be vajazzling anytime soon, this shop has me panting, drooling, groping, touching, oohing, ahhing, and wishing that twist on earrings didn't give me a headache from hellerati. I'm much closer to a hummingbird than a magpie, (what hummingbird do you know that has the time (read: patience) to sit and dig through vintage rags in search of riches?) but even I can't deny myself just a peek... it's all about the articles, really.
