The woman who i reviewed messaged me, and obviously, she wasnt happy. I wont go into the details of what she said, it's not worth the energy. But the bottom line is: everything i said in my review was 100% accurate and true. The real root cause of this problem? I am in the middle of some legal matters Pro Se, and almost every single person or vendor i have dealt with in the legal system (whether inside the government, or private vendor), is arrogant, condescending, rude, incompetent, etc. This is what happens when there is no accountability, and you work in a bubble, insulated from that accountability. Lawyers are the worst, followed by court clerks. Their toxic energy also seems to rub off on the vendors at the low end of the food chain. Now, tools like Yelp are giving transparency to businesses that have never had it before, and they are apopleptic about it. I doubt any constable's office is going to lose sleep, or business, over a review, as i doubt most people look up a Constable on Yelp. But if i save one person the aggravation of dealing with a business like this, it's worth it. One final tip: when someone is trying to do business with you, and you mess up, you dont "double down" on your bad behavior by sending them a nasty message. You do the opposite: show some humility and apologize. By responding the way she did, all she did was confirm her earlier behavior. read more

In case you didn't read my earlier review from Worcester Housing Court, this trip is part of my first eviction as a landlord. Located across the street from the Courthouse, this was much easier then finding someone closer to my tenant. I figure anything extra i paid here would be more then offset by not having to travel anywhere else. The best part is that for no additional fee. They will walk my paperwork across the street with the filing fee, saving me a trip back. The person i dealt with was friendly and personable. Was able to find parking right in front at a meter rather then having to pay for a parking lot. What more can you ask for? read more

I brought a Capias to Burncoat St at the end of 2018. It read in part "The Court considers the above named judgment debtor to be in contempt for failure to appear in court as ordered. WE COMMAND YOU, therefore to arrest the above named judgment debtor and forthwith to bring him or her before this Court to answer for his (or) her alleged contempt." The Constable I met with stressed it would cost between $250-300, and that once the defendant was picked up, I would be called and would have to go directly to the courthouse. The Clerk Magistrate told me, during my small claims case, they charge about $65 to serve the Capias, but ok, he didn't explain the crook would be brought to court. I had my cell phone on at work for months waiting for this call. I was finally contacted, VIA EMAIL, of an upcoming hearing. A scheduled hearing? What happened to picking up the crook? Showed up, defendant didn't. Constable Denise Lecuyer told me he promised her at least 4 times that he would show up. I was charged $250 for +/- 4 phone calls!?! Contacted Scott Derry (it was his email in all my electronic dealings with that office, but "Linda" writing and replying) afterward to find out what the next step was, asked how much to actually bring in the defendant to court as the Capias stated. No response to that nor subsequent emails. Finally wrote to tell him I would stop in to pick up the original Capias on a particular day. The Capias was ready for me, so SOMEONE was reading my emails, just ignoring them. Scott realized my frustration in the course of our conversation, as I was very upset about this entire experience. We small talked, him telling me how there were 2 girls in that office that were not doing their jobs over the last few weeks, and they had to be let go, blah blah, so maybe that was the email glitch (?). I asked how much for the Defendant to be picked up and brought to court, and he told me it would be more than I had already paid. When pressed for the amount, he said it would depend on how much time they had him in custody. I asked for the cost for 3 hours, he couldn't/wouldn't tell me. During our conversation, he saw how deep the pain of this entire situation (being swindled by a dishonest contractor) was to me. He said that he's been doing this Constable job for a lot of years, he had friends at the courthouse, and would talk to someone about what else could possibly be done. He told me to call back on a particular day, which I did. Left a message for him, we played phone tag, until I finally spoke to him again. Of course, he needed more time. Subsequent phone calls went unanswered. They charge dearly for nothing, make no effort to explain or discuss, make promises they obviously don't intend to keep. They are good at phone calls (if they were actually made) to Defendants, with no results. No one tells you it's also ok for a crook to steal from you, to not bother with the expenses of trying to collect by legal means, because once you've been scammed by the crook, the Constables take a turn as well. Shame on me.. shame on THEM, the Constables of Worcester County! No wonder the public feel as they do about some law enforcement, if this is what they are dealing with! I must say it was a pleasure to walk into a business to smiling faces and such friendly people. Located directly across the street from the courthouse, it was convenient and the prices were reasonable. I was explained about the whole process in detail by one of the constables here about my paperwork and the proper steps needed to be taken after filing. The constable that helped me was SarahJane. She definitely knows her stuff and after chatting with her a little longer, she explained to me that the other 2 constables in the office including herself are former Deputies with 5+ years experience in the field. I would recommend anyone who is looking to have papers served or has questions about the process to contact them. Thank you for such great service! read more
