Wonton Park is six acres of fun. The park is waterfront and has two playgrounds, water park, fishing dock, picnic areas, pavilions, bathrooms and more. It is an excellent place to spend time as a family. I brought my grandson here for an afternoon of fun. He loved the playground and made a few friends. The play structure seemed well maintained and the park was very clean. We heard that sea planes take off and land at Wooton Park. We didn't see any on the day that we visited so we planned a return trip over the weekend.

Great park. Wonderful walks. On the lake. A seaplane park where you can see seaplanes landing and taking off. Restaurants within walking distance. Playground for kids. Great shady trees to sit under and read or have a picnic.

Wonderful little park by the lake, lots of playscape for your kids to run around on and in. Needs a few more strategically placed benches for parents; the area is large and sectioned, obscuring a line of sight at any time with your little one. Otherwise, you'll really the park, location, and this quaint town. Highly recommend!

AMAZING park for all ages! Our kids had a blast! Dogs aren't allowed in the playground area.

The splash park is sea plane themed

This park has it all... and then some! The park is set along the north shore of beautiful Lake Dora in Tavares. We sought this park our for its splash park and boat ramp but found so much more! The splash park is small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in fun. This is the only splash park I've seen with slides, which seemed to be the big hit. There is a big sea plane over the splash pad spraying water from its propellers. It is very cute! It only costs $2 and there is an attendant making sure kids play safe (mostly reffing the water slide). This area was open from 10am-6pm. The playground is one of those large, quality wooden ones and is right next to the splash pad. There are huge oaks covering the area providing ample shade. There is plenty to do for kids of all ages and lots of benches and seats for parents too. I like the fact that both the playground and splash pad are completely surrounded by a fence so your child can't wander away. The park looks very new and is extremely clean and well maintained. There is a nice sidewalk along the water with, get this, mister fans! What a great idea! There are lots of benches and trees as well. There are public docks so you can tie your boat/jet ski up and access the park from the water. There is a LARGE boat ramp. It is so large we actually watched a sea plane drive up the ramp! There are restrooms with Florida wildlife murals painted on the side, water fountains and right across the street are an array of restaurants, many with outdoor seating and live music. One of the little places sells ice cream too! I noticed the park has pavilions for rent as well. And if all that wasn't enough they actually offer sea plane tours out of the park through a company called Jones Brothers & Co. Where have you ever seen a sea plane tour before? I hadn't! Tours start at $35 (adult) for a 12-14 minute tour. Although we didn't opt for the tour (it would have been too costly for our family of three) we did speak to the employees and they were very friendly. They said we could check the planes out and even sit in them. I'm totally hooked on this park. We will definitely be back, in fact, I can't imagine why we'd want to go anywhere else! It is absolutely worth the drive! I can't wait to come back and try one of those lake side restaurants. Maybe we'll even get on a sea plane!!

Perfect covered splash pad to break from the heat! There is a limit for house many kids can go in - so be prepared to wait on busy weekend!

The splash park is closed and the playground is closed for now, but the walking area is beautiful and quiet.

The park was created in 1926 when Sadie Conner Trimble who was the first postmistress of Lake Jem and her husband R.J. Trimble donated 71 acres to create Trimble Park. In October 1978, Orange County purchased another 31.5 acres from a failed development and used it to create the campground area. The main feature of the park is the picnic grove and playground at the end of the road. My favorite part of Trimble Park however was the hiking area where there is a 1.3 mile loop trail suitable for all ages and hiking abilities. The trail takes you around the perimeter of the triangular shaped park and down to Lake Beauclair where ancient oaks ring the lake. Over the trail are mature wild citrus trees which produce fruit and blooms throughout the year. Birds you might encounter include osprey, ibis, red-winged blackbirds, and herons. Trimble Park also has a 15 site campground for groups, trailers. and single tents that is set around a small cove along Lake Carlton. Here you will also find fishing decks and a launch for paddlers. It is easy to see why this park is a favorite outdoor recreational destination for families, campers, and nature enthusiasts. Whether you're looking to camp, hike, fish, or simply relax, this park provides a welcome and peaceful retreat in Central Florida.

A paved path surrounds a retention pond. The path is about a half-mile around, good for walking, of course, and even for biking. We live close to the park, so we ride it when we have less time to spare or as part of a longer ride. You will see long legged water birds there, and occasionally a small alligator, especially in winter when they like to float in the sun. So no swimming allowed! There are also exercise stations every fifty feet or so, and recently they added a set of 18 disc golf nets for tournament or individual play. Some are near the pond while other nets are in the nearby woods on paths. There is also a fine rest room building with plenty of parking next to it. I believe there are a couple of picnic tables near the rest room building, as well as benches on the trail. If you go there to walk your dog, I would suggest using a leash as sometimes a dog roaming free wanders around and you will want to be able to control your fur baby. You probably won't run into a kitten with a fish hook in its side as we did. But I can report a happy ending as the little rascal is the latest member of our cat family.
