Trimble Park is a scenic recreational area in Mt. Dora. It is located on a peninsula which was a former isthmus between two lakes, Lake Carlton and Lake Beauclaire. The park was created in 1926 when Sadie Conner Trimble who was the first postmistress of Lake Jem and her husband R.J. Trimble donated 71 acres to create Trimble Park. In October 1978, Orange County purchased another 31.5 acres from a failed development and used it to create the campground area. The main feature of the park is the picnic grove and playground at the end of the road. My favorite part of Trimble Park however was the hiking area where there is a 1.3 mile loop trail suitable for all ages and hiking abilities. The trail takes you around the perimeter of the triangular shaped park and down to Lake Beauclair where ancient oaks ring the lake. Over the trail are mature wild citrus trees which produce fruit and blooms throughout the year. Birds you might encounter include osprey, ibis, red-winged blackbirds, and herons. Trimble Park also has a 15 site campground for groups, trailers. and single tents that is set around a small cove along Lake Carlton. Here you will also find fishing decks and a launch for paddlers. It is easy to see why this park is a favorite outdoor recreational destination for families, campers, and nature enthusiasts. Nice park with a campground. The bathrooms are so nice and clean, better than any gas station and many restaurants! There is a boat dock and walking paths with doggy doo bags. 2 playgrounds and multiple pavilions, picnic tables and benches. We saw a gator but I didn't take a photo. 4 stars because there wasn't any maps of the walking trails and limited signage. We got lost and had to use a maps app to find out way back. read more

Overall: 5-stars- Great place to visit due to its peaceful setting and out of the hustle bustle of city life. Will be back. Has allot of amenities to include great views of the lakes, plenty of places to picnic or sit around on benches along hiking/boardwalk trail. Trail/boardwalk was great!!! Not strenuous and was very peaceful setting with all kinds of birds, plant life, and other creatures. Has a nice, very small campground and a group camping area. We will be camping there for sure sometime in the future. read more

Trimble Park has a lot to offer the entire family. We started with the nature trail that is just over a mile and very easy. My grandson loved the trees and looking for wildlife. Afterwards we played on the playground, walked along the waters edge and poked around on the dock. They have several pavilions and the bathroom by the playground is clean. You can RV or tent camp at Trimble Park. Each campsite has a electric hook ups and a picnic table. The camping bathrooms are very clean and the entire park is beautifully maintained. read more

Trimble Park is just one of the many well maintained County Parks. This park has pavilions, camping and a beautiful picnic areas with super clean restrooms and modern and fun playgrounds. The staff is awesome and always ready to answer any question and handle any situations that arise. We have had our annual Easter Picnic here for the past 20 years and we can't think of any other place we'd rather be. read more

Located on the Mount Dora chain of lakes is Trimble Park, specifically between Lake Carlton and Lake Beauclair. We were only able to spend a short time in the park but what we saw we really liked. First, the lakes of Mount Dora are much cleaner and less crowded then those in the Orlando area. You could spend hours exploring the chain of lakes which includes 4,476 acre Lake Dora, 7,808 Lake Eustis and 13,788 Lake Harris. The park itself has lots of trees plus pavilions to rent, boat ramps, playgrounds, and restrooms. There are even campsites for rent. The shade of the trees is nice but the between the shade and water there are a lot of bugs. Otherwise it is a beautiful park for boating, jet skiing, camping or just playing. This is a spectacular little park and we found it by accident. As other reviewers have said, I too have camped across the US and this is one of my top three spots! Many sites are on the lake, the place is immaculate and the rangers are very friendly! I love the little fairy houses scattered throughout the park. You have to look for them as many are not obvious. The park is close to Mount Dora which is a delightful place too! So this is a short update. I'm heading up to Trimble to camp today. The ranger tells me the fairy houses are gone. There was no one available to maintain them So sad. read more

Excellent play ground! Very big with lots to do! It's shaded because of all the trees. There is a nature trail behind the park. It's unpaved about a mile walk. Very nice. Be on the lookout for alligators. There is a small amount of water on each side with small banks! Great way to spend the day! read more

My favorite park in Mount Dora. Easy, peaceful trails with beautiful scenery of the lake and greenery. Every time I've been here, it's never crowded so it's nice for some solitude. There are benches along the way and covered picnic tables. There are also clean restrooms and a playground at the park. read more

Awesome beautiful scenery! Trail is a little hard to find. If you drive to the second parking lot and walk to the large pavilion the trail starts behind it. Stay right and hike along the lake (Carlton) and go out to the point and double back staying right again and hiking along lake Harris. This will take you to a boardwalk with many lovely places to sit. You will eventually end up at the camp grounds which are very nice (less than a mile). Lots of grills and nice benches around fire pits. Grills in the main park as well as a play set and many places to fish. One of the pettiest trails I have been to. Lots of wildlife. read more

I have been camping ALL OVER THE USA and would put this right up there with the best of them .. The staff is GREAT, park is really a hidden gem. spotless bath house. Beautiful sites (15 of them) and about 6 are directly on Lake Beuclaire. Boat docks right behind a couple sites for campers to use. No sewer hookups, but there is a dump station right around the corner. I just used one of those 35 Gallon pull totes to dump. We spent a week there in our 45 foot Class A .. no problems getting in and out..easy back in sites. Bring your Bug Spray... we stayed in April and the blind mosquitos were out of control. Great park and enjoy it a lot. Big drawback is the very rude staff, during making reservation, check in, and at the site. When you are getting away and you feel disrespected by the ranger it takes away from the pleasure. We are county residents and paid for the site, that deserves a little respect. This park was recently renovated-they used to have a pavilion with a built-in grill/pit inside where you could have a large party, but it was really old and dirty. They spruced it up and did away with the pavilion-probably too much upkeep. But they did a good job on the renovation. Across the street is where you launch your boat and you can also take a nice meandering stroll on the boardwalk along the edge of the lake to a small "island" (reminds me of Tom Sawyer). We saw a snake (not sure if it was coral or king but definitely yellow, red and black stripes and of course I forgot the poem, so I stayed away). They also re-did the playground and got rid of the arsenic-laced wood. It's smaller than it used to be but I am sure just as much fun for the little ones! read more

This was such a relaxing park. The play equipment was very engaging for my three year old.

Great secluded park when you are done with downtown Mt. Dora. Quiet. Lakeside. Plus a playground perfect for toddlers!

The Park is Excellent,Only thing I wish they would improve on is the dump station,they need a waterhose hookup at the dumpstation cause your new campers are coming with a flush system built in. read more
