This was my first time dining with the new owners. They haven't changed much in the dining room but…read morethe counter and fridges have changed and looks like they have a bigger focus on coffee and hot drinks now. The lady that served me was lovely and really helpful because I had my big chunky pram with me. She sent one of her staff over to make me room and adjust the tables just for me. I only had wedges today but they were lovely wedges. I like a little more sour cream but that's not their fault! There was a big table of oldies in today for coffee but that didn't slow their service down at all. The only qualm here is a lack of vegetarian options that are not chips or wedges but my husband did have a chat to the guy who said he was going to introduce some more vegetarian options. All in all, a nice lunch and a nice atmosphere.

Coffee tasted of burned grounds. Place is in dire need of an uplift - doesn't matter which direction, just a little uplift. Service was very friendly and quick too. This place has a large range of organic foods and lovely gifts lining the edges of the cafe. We would definitely visit here again when passing through!

Since I didn't manage to have a coffee the last time in Balaklava, and since were were heading up…read morethat way, we decided to take a detour and see if we could find a place where I could complete that quest. Well, this happened to be the place. It's a nice little coffee shop, though in a way it is also a bakery. Yeah, I have to admit that there is some charm, and the service was pretty good as well. Like, don't expect Melbourne style coffee, but as a place to grab something to drink, or relax, it is nice.

They have a big board of salads, rolls and hot drinks. If you require a different option they will try their best to cater for you. They have soy milk for coffees and milk shakes etc. I love that there is a stand supporting local homemade cards.

The shop while a little in need of a clean up was large and open. The prices were reasonable. They had a recycle bin to put your 10c cans and bottles in for charity. Hubbys hotdog was really good. Bad - I had two dead ants in my sweet chilli sauce :( :( :( BUT I can tell this is a once off upset - clearly the ants crawled in there and noone noticed. So while the good out weighed the bad - Dead bugs is a pretty bad effort, so while its killing me - this is a 3 star review. Hopefully I can go back and have a better experience and update this!

Jitter Bean Oasis has fantastic coffee (they use Mahalia from Robe), and delicious sweets. My partner had the citrus tart, and said it was the best she had ever had (big call!), and I had a vanilla slice which was amazing. The savoury pies and pasties looked amazing too, and the staff were absolutely lovely. Highly recommended!!
