I have read the other two reviews on this site and find them really hard to believe. I can honestly say Mr. Woolfe and his staff have been nothing but helpful, courteous, patient and knowledgeable and it has been a very pleasurable experience in choosing a ring for my 'special birthday'. My husband originally boiught me a ring from one of the other jewellers in Milton Keynes and as soon as I got the ring home, away from the bright lights in the shop, I was very disappointed, as it looked as if I could have bought the ring from a well known catalogue shop and certainly did not look like a ring that was of any value. I took the said ring into Woolfe jewellers and compared with one of their rings of the same value. You could instantly see the difference in quality and sparkle. The sales staff didn't have to say anything as I could see for myself the difference between the two rings. I tried a few of 'Woolfe' rings on and found it very very hard to choose because they were all so beautiful and Mr. Woolfe and his assistant Judy were so very patient with me and were no way pushy like some other sales staff can be. I am now waiting for my ring to be made in a larger size and cannot wait, as I am so excited. Please don't let the other two reviews put you off, because hand on heart I can honestly say I have nothing but praise not only for Mr. Woolfe and his staff but also for the beautiful jewellery. I know in the future I will not be looking in the high street jewellers anymore, I will be heading straight to Woolfe jewellers, where I know the jewellery won't be mass produced and I will get quality as well as bespoke pieces. The staff are diamond and gem trained and are very knowledgeable, you don't get that in your usual high street jewellers. I went into woolfe looking for a pendant for my Wife to celebrate our anniversary, I saw a few styles I liked and the prices, though some were VERY expensive, many of them were reasonable (though this does depend on your opinion on what is a reasonable price). I was seen by Mr Woolfe who sat me down and showed me the ones I pointed out. He was very knowledgable and explained every single aspect of the pieces I was looking at. Despite this I was still not convinced as my wife can be awkward. I mentioned her favourite colour is yellow and then he suggested I get a yellow gemstone and allow her to come in and pick an existing design or design one herself. I though this was an excellent idea as this way the Mrs would be able to choose a design she liked. Though it took some weeks, he managed to find me a beautiful yellow stone, He recommended I got it re-cut to make a better shape, which I went for at no extra charge and it came back really well proportioned and just what I had in mind. I will definitely be going back in to finish of the necklace as the knowledge of the team there and also the professionalism is excellent, and the quality is the best I have seen. We saw a great necklace in Woolfe but thought it too small. The shop helped us greatly in deciding how large the final design should be to create the look we were after. The necklace also had matching earings, they used the stones in the earings to match the stone in the new design of necklace. The jewellery on arrival was even better than expected as they had catered for all the small things we had not even considered like the proportional increase in some of the gold areas. We had looked in the windows before and probably, like most people saw some high prices and thought it was probably elitest it isn't in any way. The people in the shop are courteous and know their trade extremely well, we felt comfortable all the time and were never pushed simply to make a sale. Don't be fooled, the people, craftsmanship and materials are second to none and are well worth the money we eventually spent. John Woolfe certainly knows his business. I had the benefit of his valuable professional advice and experience recentlly with the purchase of my engagement ring. My fiance and I consulted with John regarding design and indeed John was very happy to listen to some of my ideas and, such is his obsession, was obviously in his element discussing in depth and at length the options we could consider for him to create exactly the ring I was hoping for. I was lucky enough to get my engagement ring from this shop, a beautiful platinum princess cut diamond, and whilst my fiance chose the ring without me knowing, he said that the rings were a cut above the other stores in MK. The ring needed resizing & whilst I hated to be parted from it, the assistant advised this would be approx 2 weeks. 1 week later, it was back! I was impressed with the speed of this service and the cheerfulness of staff. read more

Completely agree with review above. We asked to get a ring measured and measure my partner's finger for reference, and point blank refused because we were not their customers!!! I was interested in getting a ring for myself but after John Woolfe HIMSELF talked to us in such a disgusting manner, I'm never to set foot in that shop again! Horrible customer service, terrible vibe and a disgrace. They don't even deserve a star. read more
