During the first trial appearance, he pulled me outside the courtroom and told me he spoke with the opposing attorney about what WE are willing to SETTLE for and started rambling off numbers. To say I was shocked, is an understatement, During the second appearance, he had an unfinished formality for another case and when asked which case he wanted to pursue, he chose the other. At this point, I had paid Mr. Stevens five figures in legal fees and had nothing in exchange. Upon receiving his next invoice, I demanded that he perform as agreed and refused to pay another dime until he did. He then withdrew from the case, leaving me to represent myself. While this sounds horrible, it was a blessing in disguise. Since he had not presented sufficient discovery to ensure that the premarital assets were indeed mine. all of my assets were subject to division. By the grace of God, the judge denied the divorce which gave me the opportunity to regroup and find a qualified attorney. Ayo Steven is a Settler as described my a court staff. He will go through SOME of the motions of taking your case to trial with no intention of doing so. He will also bill accordingly. I'm surprised he's still barred.
