They did annual service on my Honda 75 4-stoike and it runs pretty sweet now. I've had it serviced elsewhere for years and it never ran this well. Service is pretty quick as far as I can tell. Mony is a nice guy and will try to help with advice. I've had the mechanics do the same, unprompted. If you're moored at South Park they'll come to your slip to check out your issue. Pretty good deal. And to that reviewer on here who gave them one star because he forgot to put his own drain plug back in before going out on the water? Dude that's your fault... Don't blame the business for that.

Likely due to water damage caused by repair shop carelessness. 8/15 update Boat top speed was going lower, and alarm was starting to go off when going above 20. Took it in to Rick's. They said it was overheating but couldn't figure out the problem and kept changing things, water pump, electric fuse, wiring, and even the temperature gage which turned out to be fine. The alarm stopped, but the new temp gage which doesn't mast he my other gages, shows even higher temp close to 200. They forgot to put the plug back in and sent me on the water and the boat started sinking. I am lucky the engine didn't get damaged. I paid $7000 for this boat. It took them 4 weeks and cost me $2500 to have them fix the alarm. They kept saying they'd call me when things are done but never did. I had to call everyday to check on progress and they kept pushing it, blaming the tide, the parts, and so on. Still not sure what caused the alarm and what stopped it. They almost cost me the whole engine, and since they have you sign disclaimers they would take zero responsibility. Go somewhere else. Most places charge almost half the price for labor, are faster, and are probably less careless.

From Shane in Sales to Tony at SkyLaunch and Tommy the Delivery Captain it has been a great experience. Tommy sent me a library of videos to review prior to delivery and then did the on water boat orientation and walk through. He took me through all the systems and how they worked. In general, SBC sells and services high-end boats. They provide a concierge type experience. There are always staff around to answer questions and help you with any issues. They are definitely a higher-end dealer and it is not the low cost place. However, they provide the service and facilities that goes along with the price. Highly recommended.

The price was negotiated before we looked at it with the caveat that the boat was in good condition. They also signed a letter of intent on price with a new trailer vs. using one they had there. Experience when we got there to test drive was great and kid that took us out on the water was super nice. However when we pulled the boat out to look at the hull (when they said boat was in good condition), the entire outdrive was very chewed up (more than just the skeg itself). Parker who was the salesman kind of just dismissed us saying we couldn't make a deal that day (for various reasons) and went back on the letter of intent price we had in writing for both the boat (couple hundred bucks difference) and the new trailer price (couple thousand dollars difference). He said he would call the next morning and never did. Something must have happened with him going back on what he personally wrote in writing vs. what he said that day however having multiple dishonest practices is enough for me to not do business with them.

I purchased our brand spanking new VR4 from the Fife location in 2023. Buying the boat was the easy and painless part, now for the hard pill to swallow. The service department I totally and completely give a F conservatively. It completely feels like you buy the boat and then the customer service goes right out the window. The service department completely needs an overhaul it self. I figured that after spending the money I did with them on the purchase of the new bayliner, one would be more willing to do what it takes to keep the customer happy and coming back. For the past 2 and a half years, that has been not the case. I had to have several things fixed on our brand new boat, which was like asking the service department for their next of kin, and then then to be told that its fixed, when that wasn't the case. I have literally had to hound them consistently every year to fix the one main issue that was found on the day we bought the boat, which mind you, still has never been fixed to this day, to only now hear, "sorry, that's not under warranty anymore. Hummmm, well guess what, if it was actually fixed while it was under warranty, we wouldn't be writing this review. I feel that they will not be truthful and pack you full of sand to make you go away till your warranty expires just so that they can rake more money from you later. As I also feel they were very vague opportunist when it comes to winterizing and de-winterizing our boat. I haven't been a boat owner for long but was paying for what I thought was at least an oil change during the de-winterizing as I was told that its part of the process, to only find out on this last visit, that it was not the case, and has not been done since day 1. Well that would have been a very important thing to know back then. This is a terrible way to do business and should not be allowed, and how the owner could be okay with this, would be an embarrassment if it was my company. This establishment, I fell sorry for the operator, she's sounds over worked when no one will answer the phone, and scheduling anything is like asking the federal government for a personal loan. It never happens since no one will answer your call. And then their timelines to get your property back, we'll let just say, hope you didn't want to go boating anytime time soon, unless your riding their ass to get your boat back. And then, god forbid if you actually get a call from them letting you know that your boat is ready for pick up. I had to actually call and find out towards the end of day the status of my boat, and then to be told, "oh ya, it's been done waiting for you to pick up." LOL. ummm okay, I guess you have to be a physic to know when your boat is ready since they won't have the common courtesy to even take 2 minutes of their time to call. Who would have even thought. Do not work with this service department, Corey mostly. You'll never get the outcome your looking for when it comes to the customer service. There obviously is no standards for this department. There are plenty of very qualified mobile boat mechanics and also a very reputable place in Kent that would be more open to questions and concerns then Union Marine in Fife. I can not and would not recommend this location to purchase and maintain a new or used boat from. As a pilot, I believe and have high standards especially for safety and honesty, and Union Marine in Fife does not have any of those qualities. I don't like leaving a bad review for anyone, but when it comes to safety and honesty, that is where I feel that everyone should be warned and aware of.

What I'm saying is that you can tell he's telling the truth. On our test drive we had a small problem that Darren quickly diagnosed with a ballast tank. When we arrived back at the shop he sent us out for lunch while he fixed the problem. With the problem fixed Darren sent us home saying, "You're going to love this boat. This last time I had him refinish the gel coat on my little fiberglass RV that was poorly oxidized and he got it to pop and shine again without having to do a full blown more expensive wet sand. This time I also had him detail my two cars too and wow they look like new inside and out. So convenient to have them come to my home too!
