We wanted a room. Waited a long time. Called them on the phone. No one ever came to the desk. We went to another motel.

We've stayed at this hotel several times in the past without any issues, which made this most…read morerecent 17-day stay especially disappointing. During our visit, we experienced repeated service failures that were never fully resolved. On two separate occasions, full room service was not completed. Both times, I went to the front desk in the morning, clearly explained what was needed, and was assured it would be handled--but it wasn't. There seems to be a consistent lack of follow-through, particularly with the morning front desk staff. The attendant also appeared disengaged and was frequently on her phone, which gave the impression that guest concerns were not a priority. We also had ongoing issues with a clogged shower. The first time maintenance came, they left behind dirty shoe prints and sludge in the shower, which was unacceptable. The second time, we specifically requested that maintenance come first, followed by housekeeping to properly clean the area, and the front desk confirmed this plan. However, when we returned, the shower was still not clean. It appeared someone attempted to rinse away the footprints using shower gel, but the marks remained--and we were left without any shower gel afterward. In addition, our towels were not properly refreshed. We left multiple used towels expecting replacements, but only two were provided. To their credit, the first time this occurred, a manager personally came up and thoroughly cleaned the room, which we truly appreciated--especially as I had just undergone a procedure and needed a clean environment. Unfortunately, the second time there was no follow-up or resolution. Additionally, when we were able to leave a day early, I informed the front desk in advance, but the change was never updated in the system. This added to the overall frustration and highlighted a lack of coordination. As a final concern, during our checkout sweep, we discovered a bag of cheesy jalapeño curls behind the couch--clearly left by a previous guest--which raises serious questions about the thoroughness of housekeeping. This is particularly disappointing because we genuinely like the hotel's location and modern feel. However, there appears to be a significant disconnect between housekeeping and front desk staff, as well as issues with communication and accountability. We made very few requests during our extended stay and kept the room clean ourselves, so these were not unreasonable expectations. While we appreciate the manager offering a complimentary night for a future stay, this experience makes us question whether we would choose to stay here again. We do hope a future visit reflects the level of service we've received in the past.

Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Bloomingdale - Nice kitchen area. We enjoyed storing drinks in the refrigerator and having ice available from the freezer.

Amazing location and very very nice staff…read more We've stayed in a number of Marriott properties over the last few years and in the last 12 months I was starting to think that we had to lower our standards for the brand because our stays were increasingly bad. But this place turned that around, this is the Marriott hotel we were looking for and waiting for. The rooms were a good size and everything in the kitchen worked well for us. The place wasn't too noisy and we rarely heard other guests. Everyone at the front desk we interacted with was very polite, with a guy named Eric being incredibly helpful several times throughout the booking process. This place definitely re ignited our belief in Marriott and bonvoy overall and we look forward to staying here again.

Perfect apartment sized hotel room for my husband and I and our two dogs. Had full size fridge,…read morefreezer stocked w ice, kitchen cabinets w dishes/dish soap & a dishwasher. Comfy couch w bed, plus bedroom w soft mattress. TV in both rooms and they swivel which was a nice as we could watch TV as we ate. TV had variety of choices; we chose Pluto and was able to watch our fave old classic TV show. It was freezing temps when we traveled so the room heated up well and the hotel was quiet for a Thanksgiving holiday, even w other dogs in the bldg. Room was clean, there was even a large bag left w extra blanket, sheets and pillow. We had relatives in Chicago so it was only a 30 min drive to downtown-but that just depends on the time of day you leave to avoid traffic on the expressway. The price we payed for 3 days was not bad, compared to other hotels that did not offer a kitchen. We took no photos but the others who did are the exact same as what our room looked like. Plus it was very clean for allowing pets-other places we've stayed w pets were dirty and smelly by comparison, but not here; it was a pleasant surprise because you really dont know what you're getting w pet hotels. The reviews here are right on and legit; I always go by reviews and sometimes they are off, but the good reviews are truthful. One review said they had to pay for parking; not so. Was never mentioned nor was charged for it. I'm disabled, and there was a handicapped space right outside the back entrace four doors from our room. I have nothing bad to say, other than just a couple small cons below which are tiny in comparison to all the pro's. We'd definitely stay here again and would recommend; our stay was very enjoyable!! There was only two cons: 1. The lighting in the vanity area could be better. 2. In the bedroom, there's a locked door where presumably the furnace is; it was very loud when it would turn on and it would run for a long time.

It was... disappointing and NOTHING like the real Drake…read more Honestly, upon arriving and seeing the place up close, I decided to leave and not stay after all. I can see where they are trying to go, but it's not there. The place is in disrepair if you pay attention at all (cracks, holes, chipped paint), a crappy elevator, there's even random crap thrown in a corner still in view of guest. If you want to be taken seriously, then handle all the stuff no one sees that isn't sexy, rather than just putting lipstick on a pig. There's no consistent theme. It's like 5 different people walked through a 2nd hand store in a rush, with no other options, so each picked what they found in their scavenger hunt and then threw it all together. It's a big space. The staff was great and welcoming. Seriously, they were solid. The place is a 2 star, but staff is worth another star. It just felt like coming to visit my aunt who doesn't get a lot of visitors so she threw everything in a closet knowing guest are coming over. We all have to ignore the smell and everything else. The stuff on the walls makes sense to her as they are her memories, but there's no theme other than her history, so none of it makes sense to anyone else. It's just awkward. The reason this place isn't booming is 100% on the owner. They are trying to look bougie, while ignoring real issues, and clearly in way over their head attempting to do way too much with too little. They need to take a loan or get an investor and make this place amazing. It could be, but it's not. Then again, not sure if the place they dream of could survive in that area as the prices would need to double and the area may not be willing to pay. Potential investors may have said the same. I see the vision, but also see the reality, which just frustrated me as there was conflict around every corner. Also, the bar closes early at like 8 or 9pm. Additionally the upgraded rooms with "garden view" are anything but. The actual room is good. The detached building however looks like it was a nursing home that's never been changed or upgraded; at least on the outside and entrance. When you walk in the front door of said nursing home, it SMELLS like a nursing home. It was strong and not in a good way. When you are in your room and look outside at the "garden view", it's a crappy 1/2 wall that appears to have been designed and built as a favor by a drunk uncle who was in a rush. It's very small and insignificant. It's an eye sore, but the "garden" is actually just the back yard looking directly into a crappy middle class neighborhood of back yards. All in all, my "get away" upgraded experience felt more like a motel 6 with a $1,000,000 dream on a $500 budget.
