I made the mistake of listening to their warranty guy when he told me early on, "the rooms are warm…read morebecause you need fans to move the air." He lied. At least one room was/is warm because - we live in Phoenix - and there's no insulation in our attic above our bedroom. A thermal camera suggests the issue may exist in other rooms. When I contacted Woodside, I originally just wanted to inform them of a quality assurance issue - to improve upon for future builds - because I knew it was well outside our "warranty" period. But, at first, the lady said she was going to fix the issue. I thought, wow. That's above and beyond. Then I sent the thermal images and got ghosted. Two weeks later, I had finally sent enough emails and texts. She responded. But she said her experts have determined it to be normal for my bedroom to have no insulation over it (in Phoenix). You will see the photo of my attic above my bedroom in the photos for the business. She further indicated that my only options for testing are basically to get my house down to 73 degrees (which, because it has no insulation, it won't get much below 80 this time of year) OR I can hire someone to start ripping out drywall. Otherwise - they consider this a fully complete insulation job. These houses are going for a million right now and - at a minimum - the house is decidedly not as "energy star certified" as they said. I would do a great number of things before I work with Woodside again.

We just moved into our last home, our retirement dream home. It started almost exactly a year ago…read more I saw a sign for a home community in Mesa, Arizona after mountain bike riding with a friend, who I learned ) months later also lived in a Blandford Home Community in East Mesa. The wow experience started with the beautiful gated entrance with fabulous landscaping and abundant palm trees. As I followed the signs to the models, I noticed the generous space between the backyards of the homes. Lots of open space with walking trails and again, beautiful landscaping. I walked through the 3 models and immediately knew that the third one, Residence 12 would become the final home we would live in. I walked back to the office with lots of questions and met Terry Lents, who over the next 12 months would become much more than a sales associate but a trusted friend. Terry's patient communication style, always listening and carefully answering my questions started the process of building the trust I quickly appreciated. He spent about 90 minutes walking 4 different Residence 12's at various stages of construction. This first encounter became the foundation of dozens upon dozens of phone calls, texts and face to face visits. Next up, the product itself. I loved the floor plan, the high ceilings (12 feet), the beautiful finishes and the quality seen in so many details. I brought my Wife over the next day, concerned that the community in Mesa: Reserve at Red Rock would be too remote for our agreed upon vision of living in the Arcadia area of Phoenix. But, she had the same experience I described as we drove from the gates through the community to the models. This place felt special. I didn't take her to the first 2 models, I took her directly to Residence 12. She walked through and I kept my my shut so she could come to her own conclusion. We wrote a deposit check that afternoon. A few weeks later, we had our next "10-on-a-10 scale" experience with Bernadette at their Design Center. Terry had given us access to this area which was on property the week before so we could begin to put together our design ideas. When we met with Bernadette, she listened and saw our vision, then brought her creativity and experience with their various products to bring it fully to life. We had 5 full hours with her and never felt rushed or pushed to make decisions. She was like having a Sherpa on a long hike, she provided confidence and focus while giving us the time to do some exploring as we made our decisions. At this stage, Terry was also a huge help sorting through all of the available options that Blandford Homes offers in a floor plan. While it's not a custom home from scratch with a blank sheet of paper, it felt like building a semi-custom home. We have lived in 3 new homes over our 32 year marriage, one was also semi-custom and the other two were models already complete. This was our best experience of all new homes. The 8 month building experience was also worthy to describe. The homesite was kept neat and tidy along every step. I appreciated this care and sense of pride I saw in the various sub contractors. We lived out of the state in New Mexico and visited about once every 2-3 weeks until the last few months where we came almost weekly to visit. Terry made it a point to take pictures for us in between visits so we were able to feel like we were part of every stage. Terry and his Son Justin were also great about giving us the "green" construction key as we flew in for visits. Since they had another community under construction about 3 miles away, it was easy to swing by their sales office to benefit from this accessibility once the unit was locked. (The last few months) The final part of the experience I want to highlight is the 3 hour orientation and walk through with our Construction Supervisor, Brian. Brian has been with Blandford Homes over 25 years, had done this walk through 1,497 times before (his count), yet it felt like he genuinely wanted us to know everything possible about our new home. We had minimal "blue tape" moments that were addressed 100% on the same day. He never made us feel we were nitpicking or too detailed. Again, hospitality and warmth and care. So if you've read this review to this point, I hope you walk away with a sense of confidence if you choose Blandford to build your next home. We have shared our positive experience with my Son-in-Laws Folks who are considering moving to the Valley, along with 2 other couples that we know well. We can't wait to meet all of our new Reserve at Red Rock neighbors. Terry tells us we will be meeting lots of special people that he has gotten to know over the 3-year community build out. We bought the last lot and are so blessed to plant roots here.

We recently closed on our home and couldn't be happier with the experience. From being on the email list to selecting our lot, every step was smooth and well-organized. The sales office, Justin and Terry Lents, are seasoned pros always quick to respond and assist making the process feel seamless. Our design studio appointment with Bernadette was decision-heavy, but manageable with her help. She offered thoughtful guidance while giving us space to make our own creative choices -- not pushy at all. Upgrades were reasonable and in line with industry expectations. The closing process was stress-free. Title signing took less than 45 minutes, the walk-through with Mike B (super) went smoothly, and any small details after closing were promptly addressed. Every expectation we had was exceeded prior to, during, and following. The property itself is in a great location -- quiet and gated, yet close to the freeway. When we moved in, other homes near us were mid-construction. Despite that, the noise volume was manageable, security is heightened and they street-sweep weekly so no nails in your tire. Area is perfect for children or pets. Downtown Mesa is revitalizing and attracts ASU students, making this a strong investment. Great schools are nearby, and commuting is convenient: 20 minutes to Sky Harbor Airport, 25 to Mesa Gateway, under 20 to Downtown Gilbert, 25 to Old Town, 25 to San Tan, 20 to Float Salt Lake, and about 1 hour 15 to Payson. Overall, we are extremely grateful for a team that made home-buying not only smooth and efficient but genuinely enjoyable. Their professionalism, guidance, and attentiveness made all the difference.

We understand builders have policies. But policies should…read morenot override existing agency agreements. I brought a very well-qualified buyer to the East Valley specifically looking at new construction. After touring several communities, I advised them that Ashton Woods was a strong option, and we discussed moving forward with one of their homes. Per Arizona law, my clients have a buyer-broker agreement and established agency with me. On a separate day, my clients stopped into the Ashton Woods Madera community on their own and spoke with a sales rep named Charlotte. They were very clear and upfront with her that they were already working with a Realtor. At that point -- especially as an active MLS participant -- the correct and professional response would have been simple: either ask that their agent be present, or document the agent and reach out as a common courtesy, which is standard practice with most builders. The next day, my clients contacted me immediately. I returned to Ashton Woods with them and was told -- in front of my clients -- that because they had previously visited the community, I was "not entitled to anything." The interaction was dismissive and unnecessarily rude. When I later spoke directly with Charlotte, she stated that Ashton Woods would not honor anything because I was not physically present with my clients on their first visit -- despite the fact that my clients absolutely have a buyer-broker agreement and established agency with me that already existed and had been clearly disclosed. I explained that my clients could not absorb additional costs on top of the purchase price if they were forced to cover buyer-broker compensation themselves. Her response was essentially that this was their problem. As a result, my clients walked away from a $700,000 Ashton Woods purchase and ultimately purchased a home with Toll Brothers instead -- a builder who understands professionalism, agency, and long-term relationships. This review isn't about commissions. It's about respecting agency, respecting consumers, and basic professionalism. I'm sharing this so buyers and agents alike understand what they may be dealing with here. I can assure you this experience will factor heavily into where I bring future clients moving forward.

This is my go-to company and I hope it becomes yours as well…read more If you need a handyman or a building contractor, business or residential, you name it, Chris is your guy. He builds and renovates homes mainly, but he can also do small jobs like install bathroom faucets, screw in a hook to hang your ironing board, put up mirrors. Cheyenne can also do bigger jobs like design and contract a backyard overhaul, build an outdoor fountain and much more. I've pretty much had Chris help me since I got my first home in 2005. It's been 7 years and I'm still a happy customer. The pricing is fair and I've been able to afford going back to Cheyenne for multiple fixer-upper projects. Here are some items Chris from Cheyenne has helped me with: Kitchen Cabinet Roll-outs Laundry Room Cabinets Install Ceiling Fans Track Lighting Backyard Redesign & Landscaping Hand Held Shower Install Bathtub Coating Gym Mirrors Stucco Repair Under Cabinet Lighting Chris even made a ramp so my handicapped father can drive his power chair into the house safely. This company gets things done the right way, and If glitches occur, they are super helpful in taking care of them. The biggest deal for me is the honesty factor. I've trusted Chris to select the right specialists for different projects and he has always chosen an honest team to match his own ethics. And since he does the smaller jobs too, I get great service from someone very much in-the-know. I highly recommend Chris from Cheyenne Construction!

Choosing the right home builder is the number one decision in how your home is built and how you…read morefeel in your new home. But a word of caution, don't just look at the builder, look at the superintendent that is going to overlook your job. Make sure he/she is someone who will be on site for the entire job, pay close attention to detail, listen to your concerns as the home is being built and not pout when you as the customer question or point out inferior work being performed. These qualities will be the determinate in the end. Our experience with NuWavz was a nightmare to say the least. Prior to completion, the lack of attention to detail was deplorable. When the house was about two-thirds of the way complete, the superintendent just stopped showing up-he did not like the fact that we were out there every day making sure things were happening correctly because so much had gone wrong thus far. Come to find out, it was a good thing we were, the driveway, the septic and the air conditioners would have been put in the wrong place. Those subcontractors all had access to the old plans. When one of the subcontractors called to question the placement, he was told by the superintendent that he was no longer on that job and to ask the homeowner! Upon moving into our home, we had many concerns, however the biggest was the soft grout in our floor, which is throughout the home. We had heard a list of excuses a mile long of why or who, but all we wanted was it to be taken care of-- immediately. Needless to say, after continually bringing this to NuWavz attention, they finally agreed to take care of it. We were told we need to move out to have the grout replaced throughout and 70+ tiles replaced as well. Our new customer service rep told me he would be 'crawling around on his knees to make sure the floor was right'-this was not the case. I was the one who had to continually point out the areas of concern causing the laborers to come back multiple times to get it right. Once again this lack of attention to detail from the initial superintendent and CR rep cost NuWavz $15,000 for moving costs and room and board for us, not including their labor and supplies for a month of work. Good business? We have moved back in, the dryer is dented and I was told that because I did not have the movers move it out, it is my problem. Did any of this have to happen? No, if NuWavz just would have listened and taken action when it was discovered prior to us moving in the first time. Is it fixed? Except for the grout around the toilet, Yes, and it looks beautiful. Just be cautious when selecting a home builder. Interview their subcontractors to see how long they have been working for the builder and if they feel the builder has the integrity to get the job done. We learned a lot by being on the job, talking to those who were working and we enjoyed providing lunch to the laborers, as a way of thanking those who did a great job. Of course there are still items that need to be taken care of in the home. After this review, it will most likely be even more difficult to get the work done. Regardless, we are in and just trying to get past the building phase crazies!

Their quote was comprehensive and far more competitive than others we gathered.
