And nowhere do they warn you about this beforehand. No mention online, no heads up when booking -- nothing. It's absurd. The line moved at the speed of a DMV on a Monday morning. What should have been a simple round of golf turned into standing around waiting to be "processed" like we were boarding an international flight. For a $50 public course, it's laughable. Between the lack of upkeep and the ridiculous entry process, this place is a hard pass. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their time here.

I stopped by a couple times when I was in Columbia (I live almost an hour away) & usually spoke with him but on occasion did speak with other reps that were just as gracious. This past Saturday I stopped in & was assisted by Laura. She, like Martin, was enjoyable to be around. The people in this shop treat everyone like family, like you belong there with them. Laura was awesome & spent a lot of time with me making sure I was confident in my investment & that I would be departing with no questions or concerns. I cannot say enough about her. He took his time and helped her select a board, helmet, and knee/elbow/wrist pads. After 4 months, we're both still very satisfied with our selections and ride almost daily. Long story short - Salty's is a great spot full on knowledgeable folks, and you get to shop and support a local business in the process. The only negative thing I can think of is there is a 3.9% service charge for credit card purchases, so either pay cash or debit to avoid this. It caught me off guard on a $550 purchase.

If you pay with credit card they have to choice to refund the money back to the card or give you a store credit. If the store manager would have pointed that out to me that day I would have paid with credit card or wouldn't have bought anything at all. But he was too busy with task. So now I'm stuck with a store credit in a store that absolutely nothing else appeals to me. They sale bad product and then force you to trade for more bad product. No thanks. I'm just out $70.

Staff are very friendly people and the whole atmosphere is extremely laid back. Me and my foursome are duffers in the worst degree, and the design is great for "limited skill" players such as ourselves; the hazards aren't too terribly punishing and the fairways are wide open. Low handicappers will still find a lot of challenge here, but the layout is very forgiving. The cart paths are an adventure to be sure, they've got a distinct "post apocalypse" vibe, but the Yamaha carts are zippy and well kept, and they're certainly up to the task. Four cupholders for two seats! Perfect for a water and an adult beverage for each serious athlete. Shout out to the total bro manning the cart garage. Thanks for getting her washed up and topped off for us. Side note: If you're one of the folks that threw beer cans and candy wrappers all over the place, go jump in a lake.
