When I walked into this place recently, thinking I'd buy a fat tasty Italian sand-wich like back in the day, and all I saw was rice and falafel, all I bought is $1 chips. Clerk talks on phone while taking customers money. Typical, new people take over; put up crappy items and hike the prices $5 and hope to make a killing based on the reputation a place once had. Not with me! I have been around and now cooking! Also, I noticed all the outside signs remained. Rip off! Review: 3

College Convenience has been a real asset to my New Haven life. It's well-stocked and the workers are friendly, and fine, I can't give it too many points for location as not everyone lives in my building, but damn, it is convenient. Prices are not ideal, but they could certainly be worse. There's a minimum credit card charge of $5. The hours seem to be kind of arbitrary, and there have been several occasions on which I have dashed out of the house late at night in search of emergency baking supplies only to be told by a bum that the store is closed. I'm either an idiot who can't figure out closing time or it changes from day to day. I'd say the odds are 50/50 on that. My only other complaint is that they don't stock unsalted butter. How is this less useful than Andy Capp's Hot Fries or flavored condoms? Oh yes, and "deli"? Where?

There was a great selection of convenience store items including a variety of chips, ice cream and cold drinks. I ordered an Italian sub to split and they made it fresh at the deli counter right there. I don't always go for cold cuts but when I can see that the fridge is clean and well kept and that the meats and cheeses are being sliced fresh I know that the deli cares about quality of food. The sandwich hit the spot and was a great deal. The front window has a few stools to sit on so that you can enjoy your sandwich there and watch whatever sports are on TV. Sam's has a good location and friendly staff - great place for a quick sub on fresh bread.

I'm so glad I have Banner to rely on for my day to day breakfast and lunch needs. The crew working there are friendly and attentive. They make great sandwiches and breakfast food, and they have excellent fresh squeezed OJ and top notch deli coffee. I eat there regularly and they keep things neat and clean. They also feature a great selection of beer and liquor. Unlike all those fancypants alcohol purveryors in Bergen County, they sell BOTH liquor AND beer. I'm sick of having to go to multiple locations for my hooch. I also treat Banner as a convenience store, getting some basics like milk and cigarettes when I need them. Thanks to the staff for treating me so well all the time.
