I booked my stay using booking.com and was going to stay Monday and Tuesday - I was going to visit a friend who was sick and he died before I arrived so I phoned the Hotel (from Canada) at 6am and informed the lady who answered the telephone my booking reference and that I was cancelling my stay - she said fine, I specifically asked if the room was cancelled and if there was a cancellation fee and she informed me that the room was cancelled and that there would NOT be a cancellation fee. Today I get an e mail from booking.com charging me for a noshow - I telephoned the hotel and the SAME woman informs me she does not remember the conversation and that I should have gone to the web site to cancel - she did NOT inform of this when I telephoned previously - I am mad - and would not trust this hotel as far as I could throw it............. read more
