We visited on a saturday afternoon close to Christmas last year, and despite the fact that it was busy we were well looked after by the staff. The food was ordered and delivered to our table quickly, and in general we had no complaints at all. The staff coped admirably with the volume of customers who were coming through the doors. Prices are pretty reasonable for chain food - the set meals for two in particular are very good value, and the all you can eat buffets always provide good value too. Certainly one of the better Pizza Huts we've eaten in, and we would re-visit if we are ever passing again.

Piled high with mixed meats including chicken, pepperoni spivey beef, ham, tomatoes and onions - to big or go home I say! It was delicious - one of the best pizzas I've had in a while and the tomato base was just delicious! Alex opted for the bolognese pizza and I had a little nibble - I'd definitely be up for their spag bol after that nibble, that's for sure. Yummy. Despite the challenges of planning something with hosts who were in the U.S., the Waterside made this dinner a night everyone will remember. It was the first time bringing together different strands of a family that literally came from around the world. Ian kept everything running perfectly. We met up earlier in the day to iron out a few details and then those of us hosting didn't have to worry about a thing. Paul Huddlestone is a world class chef who works with fresh, organic, Yorkshire ingredients to make a menu that is both local and international in flavors. We are a family who really enjoy good food -- with many avid cooks, including professional chefs -- and everyone loved the food. The wine selections were perfect. And the prices were reasonable too, which was also a factor selecting the Waterside as a place for the dinner. They worked with us to please the tastes of everyone. Despite having a larger group, the selections were customized. The staff were all so warm and friendly. Chef Paul even surprised us with a lovely amuse bouche for our sparkling wine toast at the start of the meal. By dessert there were many more toasts thanks to a dinner that made us now one family. I have attached some photos just to show how happy we all were -- and the good food and relaxed atmosphere made that possible. If you want to have a dinner with some world class food that is firmly rooted in local cuisine, you should dine here. So you should know by now what you get at this quite excellent and big chain. Succulent pizza, mouth watering pastas and divine dough balls. It's all here. Fresh ingredients, ever changing menus and a fantastic wine selection. Job done. Now I especially like this Pizza Express for several reasons. Firstly, the venue is class. Big expansive ceilings, stone flooring and lots and lots of space. Even on Saturday nights, you won't wait an age to get a table. Add to that the five star service. All the waiters are friendly and more importantly they are quick and proficient. You'll be in and out as quickly as you want to be. The only minor side is the lack of space to wait if it is busy and the lack of an ability to have a quick drink whilst you count down those minutes to feasting time. Well done Pizza Express waiter dude. The marinated olives were delish, and the mains were equally as tasty. I had the Bosco salad (all ingredients I adore - avocado, mozzarella, garlic mushrooms, rocket and that), and Hot Steve had an American pizza. I was very good and had a machiatto instead of a pudding, although Steve had one of those toffee fudge concoctions and the waitress very cleverly brought two spoons touches like that make a difference, and that's why I'll come back again. I don't know why it's been so long since I've been to Pizza Express, but I think it'll be something I do regularly now. PS Two Peroni, a bottle of San Pellegrino, and all the above came to £25.00 on the nose with one of those 2-4-1 mains vouchers. Cheaper than Steak n Chicken Tuesdays end up at the Arc : )
