Also had a corn/candy cannon that was fun to watch and attracted many school-aged kids, along with a corn maze. Lots of traditional autumn treats at their concession stand. Wide selection of autumn decor items including beautiful mums in planters and pots. Although I haven't been to many agritourism events like this for several years, I was impressed with the organization and scale of the Stevens' operation -- big enough to have something for everyone, but not so big that you felt overwhelmed by crowds. Also appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. Had a nice conversation with a member of the Stevens family who gave us some history of the event and took our family picture at the end of the hayride. It was worth an hour drive for us.

Now they have some inside halls on the grounds where they hold other events and are much more comfy. I've been to a beer fest inside the hall that was a great time. The fair itself is kinda small in my opinion. A few walks around it's all it takes. A handful of rides for the kids and the usual funnel cake n corn dogs for me and Im ready to go home. "The Oak Openings Region is a globally rare ecosystem composed of over 130 square miles in Northwest Ohio. The land consists largely of oak savanna and grassland prairie. Right from the first meeting with Becky, we knew this was the right fit for the wedding reception. Our goal was to have all events for the weekend in Downtown Toledo and The Summit Event Center was perfect! The Hotel was a block away and all other events were close by within walking distance which made it easier for the guests. Becky is so informative and professional, always returning calls or emails within a day. Becky and her staff took so much stress out of the wedding reception planning. The free monthly tasting were so helpful. This gave us a chance to bring various people to the tastings to help choose the right food and see the venue. It also gave us an opportunity to get to know the staff. They exceeded our expectations! We wanted to customize our food and make it a fall theme. Chef Keith was so helpful and willing to figure out the right combinations of foods. The late night snack of chicken chunks and mac and cheese was a huge hit! Hannah, the Bar Manager, made a fall specialty drink with warm apple cider that was also a favorite with the guests. All of the waitstaff were attentive and polite making sure everything was as we had requested. The house DJ was an awesome choice! Having the use of the inventory of event decorations was a big money saver. We loved going thru the items to get ideas. The package pricing made it so much easier to plan the budget for the reception. Becky was so helpful in making changes to the package that fit our needs. Our families and friends had an excellent time from the delicious food and drinks to the fun dance music to the wonderful decorations, we highly recommend having an event at The Summit Event Center! It's interesting to have two screens playing at once but, you are radio-dialed into the screen or movie you've paid to watch. What wasn't the most pleasant was not having the option to park closer to the movie screen due to having a "bigger" vehicle -- a Jeep wrangler. Overall, the experience was nice.
