Lots of other great vendors like BBQ, classic burgers, tavern style food and beer on tap. We only stayed for 45minutes because it was raining and it was in the low 50's. They had 330 vendors from all over Michigan and Detroit area. I'm definitely looking forward to next year, as we will be more equipped and know what to expect. MacQueen's is a local business that has been around for years and not only do they offer pick your own apples and pumpkins, they have a nice produce selection, jam & jelly room, bakery (nothing better than warm donuts this time of year), cider mill where you can watch the bottling process, and a room full of Christmas decor. Staff is friendly and helpful even when they have a ton of people meandering about. Prices are fair for the quality of product and as I mentioned previously, their warm donuts are a hit! I'm glad we came earlier in the season because there was plenty of fruit to pick from! Why I'm giving this place 3 stars: - There was a hole in the wagon wheel, in my opinion, someone should be keeping up with small maintenance things like that since the season is about to be in full swing. - The older ladies who were working outside made me uncomfortable as I was walking passed an empty booth and were not very friendly about the fact that I didn't know about a blue ticket I was supposed to have (my dad was the one who paid to get the apples and was walking in behind me). I would have been understanding but they were just judgmental and condescending about it. If it's such a big deal someone should be at that booth ready to check tickets if they know people are driving up.... -Donuts were nothing special but they do have A LOT of yummy looking choices -Really good selection of apples but horrible signage. There is a map but you have to take a picture or study it really well or you'll have no idea what you're picking. -If you have a hard time walking, this is probably not the place for you. Overall, there was a super sweet girl working the bakery. There's a corn maze that looks fun and plenty of pumpkins to choose from so it's not my favorite place but I might be back for the maze.

This was a great NYE Celebration. And it is all FREE!!!! Forget NYC. Although Port Clinton is a…read moresmall town on the shores of Lake Erie, it has a huge spirit and friendly residents. This celebration beat the one in NYC, hands down. Wylie, the Walleye, was born in 1997 and made of simply paper mache. They have sinced upgraded. Port Clinton is the "Walleye Capital of the World," so it is only fitting that they drop a colorful LED lit, 20-foot, 600-pound walleye, named Wylie Jr., from the sky at the stroke of midnight, with a spectacular FIREWORKS show soon thereafter. As mentioned, the event is free and kicks off with a kids party from 4p to 6p, kids walleye drop at 6p, games and the "touch a truck" event, where kids can see public safety vehicles. They also have a raffle with a chance to win some cool prizes. And for those 21 and up, they have a "Bar Swim" that features heated charter buses that take you to bars around town. Keep in mind that this event occurs off season so a few places in the town my be closed for the season. A few restaurants that I eyed fell in that category. If you are just going to watch the Walleye Drop then I recommend getting there around 11PM. It gets very cold out there and there is no need to freeze for an extended period. We ended up getting there around 9PM and eating/drinking at one of the restaurants/bars across the street. They also have some food trucks there if you want to go that route. The popcorn store is open through the night to satisfy your popcorn fix. A DJ is jamming the night away with the hottest tunes. He was playing when we arrived there at 9. After we ate, we took on the cold and danced like it was 1999. They have a guy that was selling blinky things, but I recommend bringing your own NYE garb if you want a wider selection. We were fortunate enough that we did not have to drive there. Our hotel had a complimentary shuttle that dropped off and picked up party goers. If you are staying at hotel you may want to check if they offer a shuttle. This Walleye is awesome. It is great family fun. definitely a bucket list must do. So, remember dress warm. It gets very cold out there and plan your arrival with the cold in mind. You may also want to plan your parking if you are driving. They shut down some of the road when the party ends about 1210.
