He asked me about it, and asked me to send him a couple pictures to clarify since I didn't know the right terminology to use to explain my issue. He called me right back and explained that he's more of a total renovation guy, rather than a handyman, and that I didn't need a renovation guy. Then he talked with me about what I could do to fix the problem myself. On his dime. Patiently. Thoroughly. I'm definitely on a budget and have multiple projects that need doing and with little money, I have to prioritize. A dishonest person could have come out and charged me a thousand dollars and I'd have no way to know I was being ripped off. Now I know how to fix this myself, and I have money for another project (also not in his primary focus, or believe me, I would have hired him). Honest contractors exist. This is that guy.

It was close to closing time when I called but decided to give it a shot as I needed a door installed ASAP. To my surprise, Dorian answered the phone. I let him know what I needed and he even came that same night after hours to do a consultation. Once he assessed, and understood the urgency he sent a quote that night, and made an appt that same week to install the door/door frame. He sent me all my options and picked everything up at Home Depot for me so I didn't have to move a finger. Dorian answered texts promptly, was very careful with his work, and kept me updated throughout the day on progress/issues he found when installing my door. While he was working he listened to my needs and customized the door to what I needed. His bid was more than fair (it was half of our highest bid) and his crew was able to start the project quickly. Here's where it seems too good to be true- they showed up every morning early, worked until dark, left the job site neat and organized, and finished the job ahead of schedule. They did Sheetrock installation and repair, a bit of framing and painted walls, ceilings, closet doors and trim for us in our great room and a spare room conversion, and it all looks incredible.
