He asked me about it, and asked me to send him a couple pictures to clarify since I didn't know the right terminology to use to explain my issue. He called me right back and explained that he's more of a total renovation guy, rather than a handyman, and that I didn't need a renovation guy. Then he talked with me about what I could do to fix the problem myself. On his dime. Patiently. Thoroughly. I'm definitely on a budget and have multiple projects that need doing and with little money, I have to prioritize. A dishonest person could have come out and charged me a thousand dollars and I'd have no way to know I was being ripped off. Now I know how to fix this myself, and I have money for another project (also not in his primary focus, or believe me, I would have hired him). Honest contractors exist. This is that guy.

I had three rooms renovated, dinner patch work inside the house all done beautifully. I worked with a bit of contractors before that we're reliable, but JDRC puts in an extra umph to their work. Bathroom, kitchen, and bedrooms came out with excellent quality. Bedroom, split room, remove closet, and adding a door. Repainted walls and simple adjustment of light switch. Excellent paint job and sanding the walls. Bathroom renovation was done on removing grout and mold. Inside window tray was fixed. It was horrible initially because other contractors messed up the support and caused major molding to occur. JDRC was able to patch it but did recommend replacement. Repainted heatpipe. They sand down the old paint and repainted it. Excellent job with everything here. Kitchen work was cabinet replacements, sink, and countertop replacements. Everything was great. They even replanted the walls afterwards since they wanted everything to look nice and new to match their work. Kitchen window molding was replaced sure to new cabinet sizing. JDRC was flexible and easy to work with. They do honest with and trustworthy. I've seen contractors that cheat on their job, and JDRC did not. I highly recommend them for renovations. This job was done months ago but I haven't had time to write this review. Thanks again!

It was close to closing time when I called but decided to give it a shot as I needed a door installed ASAP. To my surprise, Dorian answered the phone. I let him know what I needed and he even came that same night after hours to do a consultation. Once he assessed, and understood the urgency he sent a quote that night, and made an appt that same week to install the door/door frame. He sent me all my options and picked everything up at Home Depot for me so I didn't have to move a finger. Dorian answered texts promptly, was very careful with his work, and kept me updated throughout the day on progress/issues he found when installing my door. While he was working he listened to my needs and customized the door to what I needed. At the end of the job he even offered to fix some messed up door locks in the house that my sister mentioned weren't working properly, free of charge. Everything was a seamless process from start to finish. You can tell Dorian takes pride in his work and it shows. I would highly recommend Dorian and the Handyman team for your needs. Now I have a handyman that I will only be using in Fairfield CT.

Somehow Jeff continues to find high quality people to work for him. No matter when we think the project is finished, Jeff and his guys continue to ask "is there anything else you need or want us to do?" He is probably not the cheapest guy on the block, but the quality of his work is worth his very competitive prices. The estimate for painting three rooms upstairs in our house was very detailed, seemed fair priced, and he was friendly and easy to work with and was great at answering our follow-up questions before starting our project. We were able to book the project on the timeline we were looking for, but we were disappointed that the pre-project meeting never happened, as the proposal had said it would. This meant that the crew leader had some outstanding questions for us on the day they started the project, and though easily resolved, would have been nice to discuss beforehand. Where we were disappointed was at the very end when the crew had packed everything up and was ready to head out, we were handed a "report card" of their work to score how they did on various aspects of the job. While we were happy to fill out the document, the walls were still wet with paint when we were asked to score and it was a bit awkward to have the crew leader waiting in the house for us to fill out the sheet. I was hoping we could have time to walk through the area once the paint was dry and take a close look at everything together (my husband and I but he was keeping our two young kids happily distracted at the time), but were told we couldn't mail it in or send it in at another time and had to get done now. It felt rushed and uncomfortable since the crew was waiting on us for them to complete their day, and I didn't look at everything as closely as I would have liked with the work being wet. The next day we went upstairs (where our work was done) to take a closer look and we ended up finding two areas that were missed for painting and some small stray paint splatter on the floor and windows that I missed before. Had I seen this when filling out their report card I would have changed their score on Quality from an A rating to a B+ for them. Juan and his team were punctual, polite, and efficient at getting the work done but if I had a suggestion for improvement, it would be to let the homeowners complete your report card on THEIR time, once everything is totally finished (and dry), as it makes for a very rushed experience at the end.
