The food is ok, the service is extremely slow and disorganized. Our last dish did not even come.

Mmmm noodle soup.... Mmmm noodle soup... Mmmmm noodles... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…read more.. A relatively un apreciated singaporean noodle bar on whiteladies road. Although I like the fact that many people havent discovered this place. It's great to know there are still places, even in a popular city like Bristol, that can happily churn out a successful business without many of the general public being aware of it's existance. I like noodle, I like eastern food, I like Orchid.

I have only had the one takeaway from here and I'm more of a curry man, but I would definitely come back here. My satay chicken could have been a bit saucier (with more sauce, not wearing high heels and doing a burlesque dance), but my crispy aromatic duck pancakes were perfect; I was served a good size (large) portion and the hoisin sauce was really thick and full of flavour. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming, and I would go back just to be treated like that. I have to be honest about the restaurant itself, it is very 'modern' with wooden benches, white walls, lime green and yellow lights and some people might find this quite a cold environment to spend an evening in, possibly better for lunchtime. But I am told there is a slightly more intimate, dimly lit, 'date' section in the back; just in case they don't look like their photo.

This used to be my local Chinese takeaway. Now me and my husband have this dilemma. When one of us…read moresuggests a takeaway as a treat we instantly both say different things, I like Indian food and my hubby loves Chinese food. But default, because I don't dislike Chinese food, we would inevitably settle on Chinese and we'd always head to Dragon Fountain as it was only a few feet away. If I really fancied a curry, no worries as they do a wicked Thai Red Curry. I don't know about you but we, like most people, tend to have our favourites. It's sweet and sour chicken balls for him and sweet and sour prawn balls for me. Easy. Dragon Fountain's offerings are among the nicest I've tasted. No watery vinegary sweet and sour sauce here, just lusciously thick, perfectly flavoured tubs of sauce. And the balls aren't too greasy (oo er missus!)

Discovered this Takeaway on a lonely Sunday night, when after 10:30 PM almost all restaurants…read morerefused to serve us food, as they started closing. We parked our car outside and pipped in and were instantly served. So, thought, of giving it an another try as that time we were so hungry, couldn't really infer that whether the food was that good or it was just our digestive glands melting everything down, giving it a taste of deliciousness. We went last week. Warm welcome. What surprised us, was the price. It didn't go up from the last time. And the cost of adding an extra meat or fish topping to any dish is a maximum of £1. Affordable! The portions are pretty much enough to make a hungry stomach full. Mark my words, I love Chinese cuisine. And, I was dead hungry at that time. The deals are also good, like if the bill crosses £10, a complimentary bag of freshly made prawn crackers are served. The quality of the food is great, and it's not greasy, like most of the Chinese eateries in town. There is a sit in option available as well, although for a few number of people. The sweet and sour sauce is perfect, and the king prawns in the rice and the noodles, were huge jumbo king prawns, not like shrimps which most of the places serve in the said King Prawn dishes. Well, wait, there are more. They don't use MSG or any artificial additives or preservatives. Healthy!!! The food was absolutely fine, simple and tasted really nice. Definitely recommended, for food for value.

HK Diner, which translates to Hong Kong Diner, is a pretty good restaurant. However, I would say…read morethat they were mainly a Malaysian restaurant (the owners are from Malaysia, and there are so many Malaysian dishes on the menu), and they should really capitalise on that fact and not just blend in the chinese food scene where they are mostly from Hong Kong. I suppose it is what people are used to, and maybe they thought by saying they were a dedicated Malaysian restaurant, they wouldn't get the people in who were looking for chinese food. Who knows. They have lots of lovely food here, that you wouldn't find in a typical chinese restaurant (because it is Malaysian food), like Nasi Lemak, Curry Mee and desserts like Bubur Cha Cha and Red Bean soup. If you aren't already familiar with Malaysian cuisine, those names won't mean much to you, but if you are, you will know they are fantastically tasty - and this place makes it well. They also serve bubble tea here (a hot or cold tea with tapioca pearls), which is the only place in Bristol that I know of that does it. I would highly recommend this place for those of you that haven't tried it out yet and are bored of typical chinese restaurant food. A real treat, two thumbs up.

When you're looking for a taste of the orient on Park Street there's only two places you should…read morethink of going; Beijing Bistro or HK Diner. For me, HK Diner has the edge. Not only are their portions more generous, but their food tastes more authentic too. As well as the vegetable dishes (which are mouth-wateringly chunky covered in soy sauce), the noodles are the best thing on the menu. It's not the best place to take a date, but is the ideal meeting point for friends and family. The service is warm and welcoming, and a night in HK Diner is not a wasted one.
