The Simple Luxe

I had such a wonderful experience working with The Simple Luxe for my son's first birthday party…read morethat was farmers market themed! From start to finish they were incredibly easy to communicate with- responsive, attentive, and truly listened to what I wanted. Lisa and her team brought my vision to life, and it was even better than I imagined. What really stood out was their willingness to work within our budget without compromising on quality or creativity. They not only designed and set up all the balloons, backdrops, installations but they also spent extra time helping me decorate and design the farmers market with the custom gifts I made and/or purchased for my guests. The entire process felt stress-free and enjoyable. Everything turned out beautifully and we received so many compliments. I am truly honored to be The Simple Luxe's first farmers market themed client and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a talented, reliable, and kind vendor who goes above and beyond. If you have been following them on social media like I was and have an upcoming event - reach out to them and get a quote! You will not be disappointed!

We had an amazing experience with The Simple Luxe for our daughter's first birthday wildflower…read moretheme. Their designer, Lisa, truly brought our vision to life. We also wanted to include our late dog in the design, and she incorporated him so beautifully. Seeing the attention to detail in their previous work is what convinced us to move forward, and all of our guests were blown away by how everything turned out. Jasmine was also a pleasure to work with. She was very communicative, easy to talk to, and made the entire process stress-free from start to finish. She really listened to our ideas, gave us time to make decisions, and helped us stay within our budget. Huge thanks to the setup and cleanup team as well. They were punctual and respectful of the time we had the venue booked. My wife and I would definitely recommend The Simple Luxe to anyone (if it's within your budget). Their hard work and dedication to their clients truly shows in their work.

Rental Avenue

North Hollywood

Late delivery + communication issues, but the delivery crew was great…read more I used Rental Avenue for furniture rentals for an event and spent around $7,000. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly stressful due to logistics and communication. The delivery showed up about 6 hours late, which completely threw off our setup timeline. Because they were so behind, I ended up having to stay at the property until 10:00 PM just to get everything placed and ready. To make matters worse, communication with the office was really difficult -- at one point, we had to have the delivery guys call the office repeatedly just to get someone on the phone and get direction/answers. That should never be on the customer (or the crew) to chase down. I'll say this: the delivery guys were honestly great. They were professional, kind, and clearly doing their best under the circumstances. We also ran into an issue with the table/chair heights. I ordered tall chairs, but I had selected shorter cocktail tables. They did help fix the issue, which I appreciate -- but the way it was handled made me feel like I was being scolded for it. When you're spending thousands and already dealing with a massively late delivery, the last thing you need is attitude. A simple "no worries, we'll get it sorted" would have gone a long way. Overall: great delivery crew, but the late delivery, hard-to-reach office, and the tone when resolving the setup issue made this a frustrating experience. I really wanted this to be a smooth, professional rental process, but it wasn't. I would not recommend.

They get estimates back really quickly and are always very helpful. I really urge you to go down there and see their inventory. Only caveat is that parking can be a little difficult there.

I'm so blessed and grateful that I found Valley Star Events last 3/4/2023 for my event on 3/5/2023…read morein Castaway, Burbank. My original vendor cancelled on me a day before the event and Valley Star Events truly saved the day! They're able to pull a 16 x 7 backdrop and put the bounce house for my kids' joint birthday celebration. Not only were they able to create a beautiful decor (considering the very short notice), but they did it all while keeping my budget in mind. They're truly a life saver! From the moment I reached out to them, I knew I was in good hands. They were very prompt, professional, and had an incredible eye for design. More than the amazing decor and bounce house, I'm just so grateful that they showed up and made my kids' event more special and memorable. They went above and beyond to make sure that my event was a success. So if you're in the market for an event stylist, look no further. They're an absolute gem and will create an event that exceeds all your expectations. Thank you so much!

Party planning can be very stressful I was all the way stressed as I planned my best friends baby…read moreshower. I came across Valley Star Events and they had the most perfect peacock chair to match my vision of what I wanted this shower to be. I reached out and the process of rental was so easy and not expensive. A few days later I realized I would need tables and chairs Ivette the owner was helpful and added them to my invoice. As we were discussing the chairs and tables she sent me photos and then I saw the most adorable tent, and I had to have it. The owner was Very kind, and very helpful she answered all my questions and made sure everything went smooth on my party day, and now I won't use anyone else for my party planning needs.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater - Bob Baker Day 2026

Bob Baker Marionette Theater

Highland Park

Been waiting all year to attend my first ever Bob Baker Day and it finally came around this past…read moreSunday after being post-poned for a few months due to bad weather. Unfortunately, not even the puppet master has pull when it comes to controlling the weather. Tomato, tomato!! :'( The park was absolutely oozing chaotic, whimsical energy with puppets galore, vibrant costumes afoot, and every possible themed variation of clown that you could think of. I'm not them joking -- if you can imagine it, someone definitely DIYed it. I was in awe of all the creative outfits I saw because it reminded me of my music festival and raver days where I used to spend weeks making my own "outfits" if you can even call it that, hahahaha. It's nice seeing art represented in fashion and these folks were not clownin' around with their steeze! This was an incredibly delightful way to spend a Sunday funday at the LA State Historic Park. We took public transit over (shout-out LA Metro) and were able to catch the second half of the event. During that 2.5 hour window, we covered a pretty substantial amount of activities such as watching a Cirque School show, watching a Bob Baker Marionette Theater show, visiting various vendor booths, eating a picnic lunch, and watching as madness unfolded while the annual traditional pie fight erupted to close out the day's festivities! The free marionette show was probably the biggest highlight for my Bob Baker Day! There is something about watching puppetry and performers in an open air park that makes you feel like you stumbled into a fever dream. I even saw a few flower puppets that reminded me of the talking flowers from the garden in Alice in Wonderland! I feel like I went into this event expecting it to be an actual carnival with rides, cotton candy, and all the works, but it was actually more of a chill and family-friendly educational event. The main feedback I have is probably around event accessibility. I'm not really sure why the event was hosted so deep inside of the park versus closer to the entrance. We legit had to walk pretty far to get to the actual set-up and I feel like that would fatigue a lot of attendees, not even just the elderly guests. It was also pretty windy and dusty still, so I wish I knew to pack a scarf or bandana to protect myself from the debris being kicked up in the park. The majority of hydration stations also ran out of water well before the halfway point of the event, so that wasn't too great. Despite this, I still had a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to checking out next year's event and hopefully being able to join for a larger chunk of the festivities in the future!

I took my toddler here and it was her first show experience with lights and her watching a stage…read more I think she enjoyed it, but snacks did help during the show. They also offer ice cream after the show. If your child sits in the front they get a chance to see the puppets up close. There is street/residential parking. I love that there is a park across the street so I took her there before the show. The music and puppets were very intriguing.
