A sweet, local small business in the heart of downtown Sanford. This is their only brick and mortar location - the only other location where you can shop their items is a kiosk in Disney Springs. The Sanford location is my favorite because in addition to their iconic marshmallows, they have ice cream waffle cones all made right there in-store! They have some fantastically unique flavors that you've probably never tried - I chose lavender, avocado, honey cornbread and waffles & syrup (the final 2 ended up being my favorites). The service was kind and generous, they encourage you to sample any and all ice cream AND marshmallow flavors that you desire! My friend and I were walking around downtown Sanford when she asks, "Do you want to go to the marshmallow shop?" To which I replied, "The what? There's a marshmallow shop?! Heck yes - let's go!" Walking into Wondermade smells like what I imagine heaven to smell like: gently sweet. There's shelves of boxes of marshmallows of different varieties, an ice cream case and different types of sweets displayed throughout the shop. We were welcomed to sample the pillowy-goodness of these gourmet marshmallows. All of the team members were amazingly nice, friendly and patient (because it takes a while to make these important marshmallow choices!). There was jar after jar of marshmallows that we could try. I opted for Maine Blueberry and Chocolate Chip Orange. They were both so delicious! Now came the hard part: which ones to purchase! I called my husband fro make the decision for me (as I was honestly buying the marshmallows mostly for him as he loves them even more than I do) and after ten minutes of basically agreeing that all of them would be amazing, we narrowed it down to 4: Blackberry, Maine blueberry, Black-Eyed Susan and S'Mores. My my - they were all fantastic! We've now run out - leading to a marshmallow emergency in the home - so he and I are planning a joint venture to the yummy Wondermade store. It's been a while since we supported Wondermade so we planned in a visit during a fun day out shopping in the area. We stopped in on Saturday December 27th while shopping at the Antique Store and Maya Books next door. The young lady working the counter was super friendly and let us sample a few ice cream varieties before making a decision. We chose a Medium Ice Cream cup (3 scoops for $5.87) with one scoop of Salted Toffee Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, and S'mores. The scoops were generous and the ice cream was delicious; however, we did notice it leaves a bit of a filmy aftertaste in your mouth. We also noticed that everything in the store is very dirty since our last visit. There is marshmallow powder on pretty much everything in the store even the new items for sale out on the display counters. There is powder/dust in every crevice on the walls, trim and baseboard; all of the open tables were dirty, nothing was wiped down and there was sticky stuff everywhere even on napkin dispensers. We had to sanitize our own seats and table before we could sit down to enjoy our ice cream. It's a real shame because this is such a great location with friendly staff but they need to do better at keeping things clean. I could understand if they were slammed with customers but there was only us and one other couple in the store, there were several other staff in the back that could have come out front to maintain the dining area after a rush, but honestly this entire dining area seems to have been unkept like this for a while now. At this time, I cannot recommend Wondermade, if you are craving some good ice cream look to the Dairy Queen Store, Culvers, Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream, The Greenery Creamery, and Andy's Frozen Custard. read more

Five stars for service with a smile from Alexis! The shop is beautiful and it smells divine!!! My daughter loves marshmallows and I never give her any, due to the risk, but these are in another level! She tried the birth cake one and she loved it! They're all freshly made as well as their ice cream! I had the salted caramel marshmallow with the s'mores. I tried the cornbread, avocado, and the fireworks ice cream! Wondermade is located in downtown Sanford and walking distance from the public library and several other small businesses. Delicious scents of baked goods and ice cream filled the air as we entered the parlor. There was a variety of desserts to choose from but we came for the ice cream this time. There were lots of fun flavors to choose from and you could sample whatever you'd like. They do also have several gluten free and dairy free options. The ice cream is made in house weekly and they constantly rotate flavors. The kids chose the birthday cake flavor and I had the brookie in a vanilla waffle cone. Unfortunately, I just was not a fan of the ice cream. I sampled the chocolate avocado and it was good but not great, the churro was also yummy but too sweet for me to want a whole serving. The brookie and birthday cake were so thick and almost tasted the same. This is going to sound weird but the brookie almost didn't even taste cold? Just so thick and had a taste I just couldn't put my finger on. The cone was okay, very hard and def not my fave. The shop is super cute though and the servers behind the counter were very sweet. I would def go back to maybe try some different flavors or other desserts. read more

Great dessert place in Sanford, Florida. It's hard to believe that this store just celebrated 10 years!. They offer ice cream chocolate candies, marshmallows in a box and they make the s'mores right there in front of you! It's only 10:00 a.m. in the morning so I think I'll pass on the s'more but I definitely want to come back and get one. The guy in the store today was very friendly and knowledgeable he told me about everything he had in the store. Recently they added the chocolate candies that you can purchase and he said their coffee is delicious. So I will be back to try and post more photos. read more

Came here expecting ice cream and was presented with a whole marshmallow experience! My bf and I stopped in on a Sunday evening for a sweet treat and we were surprised to see all of the flavored marshmallows everywhere! The two girls working behind the counter were very friendly and helpful in suggesting menu items to us. We both ordered super sundaes that included s'mores made from their handmade marshmallows. I did a create your own option, chose two ice cream flavors, 4 marshmallow flavors, waffle cone as my smore base, and toppings! It was sugar OVERLOAD. I wish we would've shared a sundae. Neither of us could completely finish the dishes and I swear I thought I was going into diabetic shock. So delicious and fresh, though. Stopped in after enjoying a day in downtown Sanford. Service was very friendly, and we were absolutely enthralled by the S'mores!! We got ice cream and a build-your-own S'more. They have a huge variety of ice cream flavors. I wasn't a fan of the ice cream texture -- sort of thick and not creamy or smooth? We loved the s'more but will probably opt to reduce the number of marshmallows and the amount of chocolate sauce because it was oh so very sweet. Since it was more of a dessert shop there weren't food options but there were plenty of sweets to choose from -- definitely a great place to go for after dinner. They specialize in marshmallows but from the outside looking in many people thing it's just an ice cream shop. They have so many different flavors of marshmallows it's almost too good to be true; but isn't! They even had a passionfruit marshmallow and flavors like fireball and coffee cream. I had gotten one of their smores which they give you an option to choose up to (4) flavors to torch and it was a unique experience to have it served on (my choice) a waffle cone piece instead of traditional graham cracker. The service was amazing and the woman that helped us out expressed how much she loved her job and wish she could make more s'mores all day. This was my second time getting Wondermade but my first time in the shop. It's a cute shop with bold colors and a few tables which is nice. They have a huge selection and the person behind the counter was so patient and let us try any flavor we wanted. I chose cookies and cream with their triple chocolate. While my experience last time was great, this time was a bit of a let down. The ice cream was gooey, if that makes sense. Like it had unfrozen and frozen again a bunch of times or wasn't as fresh as it could be. And the sorbet texture and flavor was nothing like the sorbet I got the first time which was fantastic. Such a FAB family-owned biz in the heart of historic downtown Sanford! They have so many creative marshmallow and ice cream flavors (all made in house), along with s'moresicles and a s'mores bar. If you can't make it out to Sanford, no worries. They also have a pop-up cart at Disney Springs and they ship their marshmallows nationwide. You've probably also seen their beautiful marshmallow boxes in boutiques & shops around town. They make the perfect edible gift! I've been to Wondermade quite a few times, but most recently I tried their sweet cornbread ice cream and WOW! So unique and I loved the texture of the actual chunks of cornbread in it. It has the sweet/savory thing going on which I'm a fan of. I also built my own s'more at the s'mores bar. I chose the lavender and rosé flavored marshmallows. They torch them for you and then add the drizzle of your choice -- I went with honey and it tasted like a sweet, floral dream. I also picked up a few boxes of marshmallows for holiday gifts while I was there. We got the holiday Eggnog flavor along with the Salted Caramel. They have so many fun flavors that it's hard to choose, but my family loved the ones we picked! read more

I order triple chocolate ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone and my husband order pineapple upside down cake ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone. Ice cream was okay I have had better but we really enjoyed the waffle cone! The service was great very helpful and friendly girls at the counter, the place is big so plenty space for people and enough chairs as well. They claim they do the ice cream and Marshmallows in house and they have a big menu on the s'mores department. There's a ton of options including just ice cream, ice cream and marshmallow, a s'more popsicle, s'mores, and a s'more sundae which is s'mores + ice cream! Definitely come here if you're a huge fan of unique flavors of marshmallows and you're feeling adventurous. I got a KEY LIME S'MORE (have you ever had a key lime marshmallow before??) which was awesome, but would've better if they had some fruit sauces too. The sauce options were chocolate, white chocolate, caramel, etc. but would've been good to have some jams in there! They also have these s'more pudding pops which looked great, and they get hand-torched before they get to you, so it's nice and toasty. 5 Stars for one of my favorite sweet treats to send out of town friends (and a shop that always makes me smile)! I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Wondermade yet! Their incredibly inventive marshmallows have been repped by Oprah and Martha Stewart for a reason! Think flavors like Lavendar, Salted Honey, BOURBON (yup, you know you need a smore with these), and Gold Champagne (with real gold leaf!). And the fact that their packaging has won ACTUAL design competitions means they make for the perfect locally-made gift to send someone in another city. Or they make the perfect gift for yourself. Especially nowadays when one might need a little treat to add some cheer. Beyond the mallows, they've got some AMAZING ice cream! It's made in-house and comes out super creamy and unique. The flavors are madness (in the best way), but I've yet to try the Corn Bread ice cream everyone raves about! It's next on my list... Anyway, if you're looking to keep it local and make someone's day, this is definitely a winner. So glad they have their ice cream available for local delivery as well as pick-up! read more

My husband got Mint Chocolate Chip icecream in a waffle cone. I got the sweetened cornbread icecream. Absolutely delicious as a dessert! No complaints at all. Was so excited to see the HUGE variety of marshmallows and icecream they had, but more the marshmallows! We will definiet be going back for more flavors. I went with the s'mores cause you can't get those made just anywhere! I had it in for a sweet treat after eating nearby. I was created immediately with only a little bit of a wait is there was only one customer in front of me. The South was extremely friendly and you can customize just about anything you want in here. I decided to do the chocolate lovers but they didn't have the chocolate graham crackers at the time. So instead we went with a birthday cake graham crackers. They heat the marshmallows on the spot using a small burner. This is awesome so that your marshmallows are delicious and only warmed up when you're ready to eat them. Be sure to check out the rest of the stores they have tons of options to take on the go if you cannot take something in an open container with you all the time. I sampled the s'mores at an event and decided I wanted to check it out. I'm not a typical s'mores fan, but very much ch enjoyed what I sampled. I walked (Stuffed from lunch an another place) just planning on checking out what they had.....but then I walked in and immediately decided I was in for dessert! Here's the deal....they make their own marshmallows, ice cream, cones & wafers, etc.....and oh, do they get it right! I decided I'm having a cone.....it has 3 scoops of their homemade ice cream. I chose to do a coffee/triple chocolate/coffee on water cone. OMG. The ice cream was amazing. Let me say it again. Amazing! In hindsight, I would have preferred it in the brownie batter waffle cone (which I had sampled earlier)....but their, traditional waffle was tasty also. My wife and son both ordered the s'mores popsicle. It's pretty much what you are probably imagining....A stack of wafer/chocolate/marshmallow all in a popsicle shape on a stick! When you order it, the break out the mini torch to toast it in the spot. Super cool! Do yourself a favor.....whatever you order....make sure you taste the homemade marshmallows.....this is NOT your grocery store marshmallow. Soooo much better. The staff in the place was super-friendly. You can usually tell when a place has a great internal cultural by the overall attitude.....so happy to walk into a place that has such a good vibe from the staff! I walked out stuffed.
