This place was recommended to me by one of my best friends (and knowing how picky she is, I blindly trust her) and she did not disappoint. It wouldn't be a stretch to say I had the best grilled salmon of my life. And thankfully, we're a group of people that loooooveeee to share food, so I also got to try their impeccable octopus & rice, mushroom risotto...my toes are curling right now just thinking about it hahaha. Did I mention live music?! Everything about this place makes me smile. Oh, and DONT YOU DARE SKIMP ON DESSERT. Go on a walk later, and have 2 chocolate cakes, and a Portuguese tiramisu and you can thank me later. Thiago, thank you for making our time (and birthday celebration) here absolutely unforgettable. We might come back tonight, because honestly...we miss you and Ma already. Everyone else? Do yourself a massive favor and GO.

We were seated very close to the performing area and Adriano took time to explain to us what was going to be offered that night and even allowed us to make changes. The food was delicious but the octopus took the cake with how AMAZING it tasted. Nothing is better than having great food with an outstanding Fado performance. Their voices were echoing inside the place and I am not going to lie, the first song of the night had me in tears. I am VERY surprised this place isn't more packed! Maybe because we went on a Thursday night, but this place deserves A LOT more Hype.

I love the fact that you can walk the walls. See the archer slits from the archers point of view. Walk up the stairs that the invading armies would've used. Walk the courtyards that has been there for centuries. And to sit on the stone walls and see a birds eye view of the city with the sun setting. So many historical features to see and photograph and admire. The route up to the castle itself is an adventure all on its own. With narrow streets and steep inclines. Fortunately you can take the tram or the bus up there with ease. Its also really nice that peacocks have made the castle their home now. So you can see them wandering the cobbled walkways. And at night they are all up in the trees which adds to the charm and awe of this castle. I would definitely recommend visiting this castle at least once when your in Lisbon!!

It was a 30 minute max type of museum unless you're going to stop and read every single thing about every single tile in this place...which I guess people must do. One thing that was incredibly cool is the panoramic view of what Lisbon used to look like before the big earthquake they had. It's interesting to see what monuments survived, which ones didn't and what stands there today. Overall, if you have extra time during your trip this isn't a bad way to spend it - I just wouldn't plan on being here for hours and hours (unless you really, really want to).
