But it's adorable all the same, and I even have a friend who collects them. I also love Mod Cons because they sell really cool badges, and it was my go-to shop back when I used to cover my satchels in provocative/offensive badges. Apart from the cute bears, you can get all kinds of Harry Potter and Twilight merchandise (if you're into that), like bracelets, and rings, and necklaces and posters. There's also plenty of novelty items, like these adorable little voodoo-doll keychains, they're the best! They're also about $14, which I admit, sounds like a lot for a keychain, but you would understand if you saw them, they're the cutest things ever. The merchandise here is fairly reasonably priced, and there's always something new on the shelves. They even have some naughty board games! ;)

I am exhausted at trying new ''Fad Florists'' to leave the florists with a bunch that looks amazing, only to have the flowers die within 2 days which happened to me at Christmas. Mandalay's flowers are fresh and simply they are the best in the Eastern Suburbs, for quality and their brilliance as florists who understand the occasion, you cannot beat this florist for excellence.

Their prices are slightly more expensive, and the range of stationary supplies is severely limited, but you're paying for the convenience of not having to travel far (if you live in Concord, anyway). The shop is cluttered and feels a little stuffy, but that's what I love about it. The woman who owns the place is also a highlight of shopping at Go Variety. She is always friendly, helpful and quick with a joke. She always has a funny story to tell, or weird piece of information to impart. With all the stock-standard variety store merchandise, Go Variety is a great place to pick up a few bits and pieces for the home or office.

They do furniture, rugs, masks, lighting, ceramics, art, glassware, mirrors - a whole range of stuff which listing it seems to take something away from the beauty and exclusivity of them. I also like the fact that they stock a lot of local designers but also collect from overseas so the range in variety of product and taste is wide. The textiles from Africa, Australian artifacts, Egyptian crystal chandeliers and European ceramic pieces - it takes you to far away places without paying for the plane ticket out of here. Apart from filling your home with beautiful furnishings I find Exhibit is a good place to shop for wedding presents.

Newtown Garden Market has everything you need to make your flower or vegetable garden thrive, or make your indoor herb garden ever-so fruitful. There are countless varieties of plantables, yes. But there are also plenty of things to fill your outdoor space with artsiness and style. I couldn't help but marvel over the tin garden sculptures of animals. Fashioned out of recycled materials (or so it seemed), these creatures are creative and somewhat abstract. Position one or two next to a solar powered gurgling bird bath and you might never want to leave your garden again. For me, I was drawn to the succulents. Spiky, cute, and virtually un-kill-able, these little bad boys are my favourite. Maybe it's because they also make me feel like a bit of a badass. It's not true, but a girl can dream, can't she?
