Good place to buy souvenirs at some of the best prices in Sydney despite being so close to the rocks and the opera house

This adorable little gift shop is located towards the Bay Street end of Botany Shops. The lady who…read moreruns it sneaks off to exotic places all over the world and brings back a variety of unique home wares, gifts, trinkets, ornaments, candles, jewelery, frames, sculptures, sea shells, salt lamps, paintings, blankets, antique-looking and vintage-vibed with an "I can't put my finger on it" peregrine flavour, you can get lost in this tiny shop for ages! I often buy really beautiful scented incense from here, and I've bought many gifts for Christmas and birthdays from this place too. From things like sequin birds that you can pin onto your pot plants, to tiny little bird cages, beautifully crafted and designed plates, glassware and gift ware and necklaces, earrings, key rings, and then random things like a brass anchor shaped jacket hanger, a huge silver soccer ball, wooden giraffes, clocks and boxes and almost everything you'd never imagine too. If there's anything they don't have, and you can think of it, they will find it somewhere in the world and order it for you! Another lovely, local, family run business. The lady who owns this shop works there herself, everyday behind the counter, and you can tell she knows almost everyone in the area, because every time someone walks into her shop she speaks to them like she's known them for years. She speaks to me like that too now, as she has a great loyalty card system, where the more you spend, the more gift vouchers you receive that you can redeem next time you come in! As if you needed ANOTHER reason to go back ;)

This store is incredibly disappointing. I purchased 6 pots, spending over $700. After getting them…read morehome, I found they were damaged. When I called the store a few days later, they advised me to bring them in for an exchange or refund. The receipt clearly states there is a 7-day refund policy for faulty products. I returned the pots the next day. First, a staff member tried to convince me to take a store credit because they didn't have the same pots in stock. When I refused and requested a refund, the manager David became abusive and tried to grab my mobile out of my hand. His behavior was unbelievable and unacceptable. He didn't even look at the pots and outright refused to process a refund. When I tried to explain that the pots were damaged, he became even more abusive and locked himself in his office. I then tried to speak to another staff member, but the manager rudely interrupted and told her to stop talking to me. I contacted their head office. Head office was useless and unaware of their own store policy, which I had to point out was on the receipt. I lodged a complaint with my bank and NSW Fair Trading. Flower Power even lied to my bank, claiming I had used the pots. The tags were still attached, making their claim absurd. It took 2 months, but my bank finally assessed all the evidence and refunded me. Despite having spent thousands of dollars at Flower Power over the years, I will never shop there again. They are overpriced, have a toxic company culture, and provide non-existent customer service.
