This store has really gone downhill in the past two years or so.
My friends and I used to go in at least weekly but not nearly so often now.
It used to have a fantastic array of stuff.
Toys, books, jewellery, decorating pieces, home wares.
There are still some... but not nearly as many.
They had a huge picture gallery ... but the shelves have been filled with old bags and battered sports equipment, or rows and rows of bed linen... and door mats and cat balls made from recycled cloth from India!
Although there's a constant stream of people bringing in donations, a lot doesn't seem to get put out.
There were several friendly regulars who were putting out loads of new stock every day.
But now the few remaining staff are constantly being kept busy with banal tasks, moving things from one end of the shop to the other, taking down and re-assembling shelving, moving display cases again and again... or sorting books by COLOUR!!!
What a waste of valuable time!
The prices have also gone up enormously. Dresses for $60 that you get at Kmart for $25, NEW! A 2nd-hand saucepan for $35!
The whole idea of a thrift shop... is that people can get bargains.
It's not supposed to be a high-end boutique!
Very disappointing. read more
