I went one time and saw mostly handmade crafts and trinkets. There was even a vendor selling visors for dogs. The memorable one for me was Lunar Crafts because her crochet work was so good. There are a handful coffee and food vendors but not much to get full. On the green there were what looked like to me people selling their closets. A lot of signs read "need everything gone" and "buy 5 for $5". They had mostly clothes but also shoes. It's fun to walk around and get views of the Anzac bridge, the Sydney harbor bridge, and the Opera House. Luna Park is not too far away. Parking - free and paid parking on the street.

I actually planned my vacations so that I could be here on the fourth Saturday of the month -- while both living in Sydney and visiting. I believe they have an extra market in December (or maybe they move the date?). It also happens to be located in one of the more picturesque spots in Sydney, great view of the Harbour Bridge! Anyway, it is conveniently located next to the Kirribilli train station and once you're done, there are tons of cafes to check out, grab a flat white and admire your wares.

They had a wonderful selection of beautifully hand painted miniatures! The market itself isn't too large. It took me about 30 minutes to view the whole thing and stop at vendors I wanted to see. There was a good selection of hand made goods, like totes, paintings and other goods. This is a wonderful spot to shop local!

Nevertheless, every few weeks I throw on a kaftan and a string of pearls and wander around Avenue Joffre because some of the stuff they've got in there is just so damn rad. I dig old, quirky, imported, *different* homewares and this place has a constant rotation of them. Like the old, paint-faded Indian doors for a cool two hunj (check out one of the photos). I don't know who their suppliers are - they could source from a Persian leper and I wouldn't much care - just as long as they keep slinging the quality that they have until now.

The shop oozes personality and you have to go in and smell the different candles. They smell divine. All their candles are hand made to perfection and are made out of Soy instead of paraffin. So they are chemical free and environment friendly. Not only that they also last longer than paraffin candles. There are lots of different products like candle melts, mini jars, travel tins, votive and other accessories. They do custom made candles for special occasions like christenings and weddings. Shine candles also do candle parties which are really famous these days. The staff is friendly and are not pushy about what you should buy.

Ici et la has beautiful old decoration objects from all over the world. From magical local shells to wooden and metal tables, chairs or lamp to handmade bags. Infact they have a seamstress in the store that creates blankets etc. with your initials. If I would live in Sydney, my interior design would be well influenced by this store.
