Being an Oxnardian, I really want to support this center! It is our community center, rundown and…read morein dire need of remodeling but it is what we have. It requires our support to survive. I attend events often. I recently attended Dia de Los Muertos and really enjoyed it. We were there for over 3.5 hours. I have also attended concerts, weddings and different events. Can't wait to see this place built up again! I will continue to attend as many events as I can! Excited for what this center can become for all of us.

Security was a joke. 1 guy on each end next to the pit looking at their phone or just standing there with folded arms. The venue was at best 1/4 filled, so it wasn't like there was a massive crowd to deal with. It got so crowded in the pit because everyone was leaving their seats and coming forward. It started to get confrontational. About 20 minutes into the headliners set, we went back 15 rows and watched the show. Hey A-holes who run this place, if you are going to have pit seats, then have your Security clear the aisles every 10 minutes to get people back to their seats. This is how professional venues operate to respect the ticketholders. But not this place, no need to pay for a front row seat. If you ever have the misfortune of going to this place, buy tix in the back row and help yourself to any seat in the place. Have been going to shows for over 40 years and this place was one of the worst ever. I want my money back!!!!

Tasting: $15 (return flight $9, because sometimes one flight is not enough)…read more Wonderful wines and awesome customer service sum up what this family owned/operated winery is all about. Two sisters (Elissa & Holly) married two brothers (Matt & Mike) and started this weekend project which has turned into quite a fun weekend escape. Elissa and her father, Walt, are usually manning the tasting room and are the most gracious hosts. It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. They don't offer food, but you are welcome to bring in your own snacks/charcuterie. Parking is plentiful, as the business park is mostly closed on the weekends. WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places. I think that their Sauvignon Blanc is a standard and we really enjoy it, but they also do a nice Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their "Speakeasy Wine Club" offers three levels of membership: "Blind Grape (6/yr)", "Bootlegger (12/yr)", and "Last Call (18/yr)", depending on the number of bottles you want per shipment/pick-up. Bottles currently run in the $38 - $50 range (before club member discounts). We love visiting the Lester Cellars family and highly recommend you stop in and check out their latest vintages. The service and wine are wonderful, and I'm betting you'll enjoy yourself as much as we do.

The limited hours of 9 to 12 on Saturday mornings hasn't worked for us in conjunction with other plans on the Oxnard Plain. I was glad to see that they were participating in Ventura County Farm Day, and staying open later than usual. We made it one of the definite stops we planned for the Farm Day activities. It was not what I expected. Good surprise! First, it's tucked into a neighborhood with green belts and a park, which gives a more spacious feeling than I was imagining. It's also not near any other farmland. What they do have is a number of vintage buildings, several plots where they're growing crops, some farm machinery, and more. There's a lot to take in visually. On Farm Day there was an added bonus that a gentleman was operating an old printing press, then giving away the bookmarks he made. They were literally "hot off the presses". He had a wry sense of humor, and it was fun visiting with him. We weren't able to pick up a stamp for the Passport 2 History program, as we never found the rep for the property. We were greeted by volunteers for the SEEAG group, the organization promoting Farm Day. Guess we'll have to go back to enjoy the surroundings one Saturday morning. I recommend this venue for families with kids, as there's lots to see, interesting backdrops for photos, and opportunities to talk about where food comes from, besides Ralph's!
