Perhaps the ongoing renovations will add some much needed light and life to energize the space. So it's a 5/5 for quality of PT sessions and 3/5 for environment--4/5 overall.

This required real detective work. I started working with Tom in July. We began examining symptoms and doing therapies. What made my case challenging was that the way the pain would present itself kept shifting. The only constant was I couldn't sit. But it started in May in my SI joint and then moved to other places. In September I finally noticed a big knot in my lumbar spine and that proved to be the key symptom which led to the curing treatment. What Tom did best was take time, listen and work with me through this challenge. That's also the nice part about PT is the length of time of each visit. It allowed me to share what I learned from my workouts and daily activity and give Tom feedback that he could explore. Then in one session, on September once we found the source symptom and figured out the cause, my pain went from a 10 to a 2 in one session. Further work has lowered to a 1. I still have other things to work on (more strength and stability) but Tom helped me get my life back. Awesome work.

She has a chronic problem, so there is no easy fix, but they took the time to really assess the problem and provided exercise to help. Lo and behold, I found myself in need of PT when the practice at my HMO was filled. I asked if I could go to this practice instead, and I am glad I did. They really take the time to understand the "why" of your problem. I appreciate that they do that and not just throw exercises at you. I am very pleased with my therapist, Connor, and already believe I am seeing progress after two weeks.

I came in for a consultation for sinus and gut pain, and Debra sat down with me and created a plan for my treatment. In addition to this, I appreciated her consideration of the medical care I was already receiving - always recommending I continue to stay in touch with my physician and continue on the course of treatment that had been helping. She stayed consistent week to week, listening to my feedback and tracking my progress. I have found that acupuncture with Debra has both helped relieve my pain on a short-term basis, but also led to much less pain long-term. In addition to my sinus and gut pain, I have found her acupuncture has helped so much with my stress levels and anxiety - I look forward to every visit as a time I get to finally relax and just take care of myself. Anywhooo I came here for two separate issues one a workman's comp issue, sadly enough I strained a ligament scraping gum off your a table where I serve.. please people don't stick your gum underneath tables I cannot believe I have a limp because of this! And then I had a separate knee issue from slipping on slippery leaves over the winter. They sublimely handled both matters! When I came in I was a little embarrassed because all the physical therapists look like Instagram fitness models.. and I look pretty much the opposite of one :-( however these folks made me feel so comfortable (no size shaming here) and so cared for! Yay Nick, my primary P.T but also shout outs to Lauren and Ben. They are so Dynamic in their approach to giving you care! I would not be working full-time again if it weren't for their incredible aptitude helping people recover from injury. A good friend of mine had it bad sciatica issue. I kept encouraging him to do pt to do pt and I was shocked that he wasn't getting any resolution.. he was actually considering surgery. He finally got some relief when he started doing yoga, I was shocked! Because here at Bay State Physical Therapy they are so holistic in their approach. They Incorporated so many different modalities I assumed that was going to be par for the course for P.T.. but NOPE these folks are very special. They really meet you where you at, kindness no eye rolling, impatience or intimidation, they emphasize strength training and stretching components plus some massage. They will guide you towards the appropriate home-based DIY care and structure your therapy in house to get you where you need to be. I couldn't believe that my friend had to wait to do yoga to really achieve relief. Had he gone to Bay State he wouldn't have had to wait for yoga for his pain to abate and his mobility and quality of life to improve. These tremendous professionals incorporate everything in their diverse skill sets and scope of practice to promote healing. The reason I say Nick was my primary therapist is because they are so flexible... and not just because of their athleticism but with scheduling too. If I couldn't make an appointment with Nick work they were almost always able to get me in to see another physical therapist who was just as Adept as the primary PT overseeing my care. She is not just knowledgeable and right on point about a treatment plan that has helped me me get stronger and in considerable less pain, but she really listens to where I'm at in this journey and adapts my routine and talks through the whole picture- not just pain, but what daily activities can be shifted and identified for me to feel better. Most of the physical therapy clinics I had visited were truly not even clinics, most of them just appeared to have a small room in a local gym with personnel that did not appear to be too professional. This is my second time returning here due to a an ankle injury I had from playing basketball. As much as I hate the recovery period, I am extremely happy to have found George, who is by far an amazing therapist. Believe me when I say "he knows what his doing". As a person, he is extremely welcoming on the phone (before I met him) and of course even a more welcoming attitude in person once I did meet him. With his great experience, you can tell after just a few visits that he is great at what he does. Over time, I have seen patients as young as 13 all the way till patients in there 70's if not more. As a patient, I am very comfortable and I found his clinic to be very welcoming as well. during the therapy, he surely keeps an up beat conversation with you and keeps you entertained in order to distract you from any sort of pain(therapy) which I find extremely helpful. The first injury I had from a shoulder dislocation required 3 months of constant therapy and almost a year later, I can say that I am extremely happy with the results. Just being in her presence makes me feel better. Raquel doesn't just treat the "problem." She treats the whole person and makes a point of getting to know you and helping you have faith in the healing process. She gives you exercises to do at home, so be prepared to put in work between visits to get the most out of each session. You also have to continue these exercises to maintain your gains. The office is clean and decorated with positive affirmations, which I love. Her office manager who answers the phone is extremely friendly and helpful and gets back to you right away. Raquel books several months out, but if you get on the cancellation list they will fit you in to ensure regular appointments. When I first came to see Raquel, I was unable to have sex at all due to severe vaginismus and vulvodynia. She gave me hope and was a bright ray of light during a very bleak time in my life. Now, thanks to Raquel, I have regular pain free sex with my boyfriend, which at one point I didn't think would ever be possible. I highly recommend her services and would give her more than 5 stars if I could do that on Yelp.
