After waiting a significant time on hold when she answered she was immediately rude and condescending. I had questions about what type of appointment my needs would be and she scoffed at my lack of understanding. She then told me I would need to find my birth control records from over 10 years ago to even schedule an appointment. I asked why and she told me her providers are so booked in advance I should just try somewhere else and hung up. I'm sure the providers here are lovely but you seriously need a new receptionist. She's the first person people speak to so she's the face of your company and it's not a nice face.

With that being said, I called to schedule an appointment for her after being seen in the ER for a severe prolapsed uterus, and was told we can't schedule an appointment until the records are received and reviewed from the ER. Excuse me??? Then, the receptionist said it will likely still be February before she could be seen. No sense of urgency. No empathy. No let me take a message and have a nurse call you back to see if she needs to be seen/worked in.

My wife has been seeing a gynecologist here for 11 yrs whom she really likes…read more The problem is the lab!! Their lab uses Lab Corp. Our insurance uses Quest Labs. We used to have to absolutely fight them EVERY year to try to get them to send labs to Quest Labs. They simply refuse to honor her request. My wife showed her Quest Lab card each time. On two occasions over the years, they sent labs to LabCorp anyway and our insurance company had to pay the claim even though I made a complaint against the KC Women's Clinic Lab. For the last several years we have had to have my wife's doctor send the lab orders to another doctor or outside lab who will honor her request, thereby bypassing the Women's Clinic lab. So, the warning is- if you have samples drawn at KC Women's Clinic Lab and if your health insurance does not use Lab Corp- you are in for a fight and will pay out-of-network for the lab work.

I've been coming here since I moved back to Kansas City around 3 years ago and have felt not only comfortable but also confident that my doctor here knows her stuff and has a good grasp of my needs/wants. I feel like my standards for doctors are set higher after seeing Dr. Belieu over the past few years. I highly recommend this office and after the remodel of the waiting room, this place looks amazing also. I recommend anyone I know looking for a new doctor to KCWC.

Today, I want to thank Maryann, sonographer for the extra time she took with me to explain the entire process, just to put me at ease. Additionally, she also used just the right amount of gel for a flawless procedure. If you have a choice for your next ultrasound, she's the one to see!!

I am forever grateful for that and she was amazing for my first pregnancy. Second pregnancy came around and I could sense that something was wrong with baby number 2. Thinking back, I kept telling Jeane and she dismissed over and over the way I felt every time I came in and did not take my word seriously. I ended up, at 20 weeks going in to find the gender of our baby, only to actually find out he had NO Heartbeat. To make matters worse, after my choice of giving birth to him, she wrote him down as 17 weeks so he was not considered a real child, no death certificate or stillborn certificate and basically acted like it was a bother to go back and change records after I suggested so. I ended up going elsewhere to have a third child after two other miscarriages and it was the best decision. Please advocate for yourself and get second opinions if you feel like you are not being listened to.

I had to visit Kansas City Women's Clinic after I had a bad pap smear. I was given an appointment…read moreto see Dr. Maggie Smith. I am not a fan of doctors, so I went in expecting the same behavior as most doctors. They usually just do what they have to do and leave the room without ever speaking more than they have too. I was so wrong. Dr. Smith put me at ease. She had to do a biopsy and talked me through every step of the procedure. She explained everything she was doing and made me feel so comfortable. I waited for the results and was told I needed to come back and have the LEEP procedure. Dr. Smith remembered everything I had told her a month before about my family. She even remembered my husband was a boilermaker. I was shocked, as most people especially a doctor would not even remember. I had read horror stories about this LEEP procedure online, but with Dr. Smith it went very smoothly. She spoke the whole through the procedure once again and put me at ease. She even came back into the room to make sure I was okay. A few weeks after the procedure I was at Overland Park hospital to visit my daughter who had just given birth. Dr. Smith was there at the hospital and we waved at her. To my complete shock, she walked over and spoke to my husband and I like we were old friends. She is such an amazing doctor and an amazing person. I think if anyone is looking for a gynecologist doctor, that they should pick Dr. Maggie Smith. She is truly a one of a kind doctor!
