Women's care of Florida Brandon and Riverview office had some of the best staff members ever. 2 of my favorite have to be CeCe the triage nurse and Dr. Stephen Zweibach. They took awesome care of me during my very difficult high risk pregnancy. CeCe answered all my questions and was so patient with and very kind to me. She actually went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Zweibach is so amazing. He's understanding, caring, extremely knowledgeable medical wise and very easy to talk to. I honestly love that guy. Cece I love you too if you ever see this message. Thank you for always being nice to me and being so professional. Shanika Sumlin

Dr. Sanchez outright dismissed the idea that diet and lifestyle could help a "skinny" PCOS patient with fertility which is a complete lie. A quick Google search proves otherwise. Instead of exploring alternative treatments, he pushed only birth control or IVF, as if those were the only solutions. He made me feel hopeless about my fertility without even checking my ovulation. I left mid-appointment in tears, and he couldn't have been more nonchalant and chipper about moving on with his day. He had the audacity to say, "If you were my daughter, I would put you on the pill immediately." Funny enough, he told my friend the exact same thing. Let me be clear: if this were my daughter, I would never let her step foot in this office. He was dismissive, condescending, and completely uninterested in anything outside of his rigid treatment plan. If you dare to question him, good luck....he clearly prefers patients who just nod along with whatever he advises. There was a female doctor in the room during my appointment, and the way he interacted with her made me uncomfortable. Honestly, if she had been the one in charge of my care, I have no doubt my appointment would have gone differently. If you want actual hope and a doctor who considers more than just IVF or birth control, save yourself the heartache and money and go somewhere else.

A very friendly expert in the field in Brandon, Fl told me the reason for my horrible experiences at numerous Women's Care facilities is due to how the company is owned and pushing patients for numbers to be met. He worked closely with Women's Care previously and succeeded further to open his own private practice, hence the tip he gave me about this specific business. *I had fibroids and endometriosis and they were trying to put me on a chemically induced menopause drug called Lupron at only 29 years of age with no children yet*. They told me if I didn't get on these drugs, I would potentially run the risk of my uterus being "Frankensteined". 3 doctors later, an MRI & news that if I were to take Lupron to "shrink" my 10 cm fibroid, I would have lost my hair and gone through menopause temporarily (hoping my period would come back) and go through absolute hell and it wouldn't have shrank because my fibroid was pedunculated.. An expert told me that Lupron doesn't shrink pedunculated fibroids. I do not believe this practice is professional enough or has expertise in such odd cases like myself. If you have endo/ fibroids go to Dr. Michael Stine in Brandon, Fl. He might be expensive but he is worth the relief you will get knowing the surgery you may need will be taken care of in the RIGHT hands who has done thousands of these surgeries, especially with odd cases like mine. As a patient of ~2 decades, it is disappointing to see how this is now run like a corporate office…read moreinstead of a medical practice. They no longer have sick visit slots. You get put in rotation with wellness visits. I called for a sick visit, and had to wait almost 2 months. At the visit they told me I needed a full exam, labs, an ultrasound, a mammogram, and a follow up appt. When I went to schedule all of those (except mammogram), I again had to wait more than 2 months. Taking almost half a year to diagnose a sick visit is wild. It took so long for the appointment, nearly all visible symptoms were gone. So, naturally, they were unable to diagnose the issue. I was told to just wait for it to reappear. Their pricing is so high, that even with insurance, my office visits cost shy of $400 each visit. I needed 3 different procedures from their office, and asked the doctor if there was any medical reason why I could not have them all done in the same day, and was told they could all be done in the same day. Got to the front desk, they told me it was not possible because 1 was preventive and the other 2 were diagnostic so they split them up into 3 separate appointments. So, I had to pay shy of $700 (for 2 office visits since only the preventive visit is fully covered) instead of paying for just one office visit. This is not only ridiculously expensive, but also extremely inconvenient for those that work the same hours the office is open. Then at my ultrasound appointment, my ultrasound tech, Georgette, was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was extremely upset that I was asking questions about the ultrasound, i.e. is the ultrasound internal, external, or both, what determines if a biopsy is needed, what is the after care, etc. She got so upset that she pointed to the ultrasound machine and said, "I'm gonna take that wand, stick inside you and it's going to take pictures!" and then slammed my file on the counter, said that someone should have already answered my questions, refused to continue the conversation and left the room to go get my doctor. Once the doctor came into the room and we proceeded with the procedure, Georgette kept sticking the wand in places that were no where near where it was supposed to go. I got confused and asked the doctor to confirm it was internal not external and it was confirmed it was internal. So, I told Georgette she was not putting the wand in the right place and was causing pain to the other areas she was jabbing it. She again got upset and said, "do you wanna just put it in yourself?". So, I ended up having to insert the wand myself because my ultrasound tech, who gets paid to do this......couldn't find the vaginal opening. I've had drunk guys do a better job at finding it. She remained rude throughout the whole entire procedure and at the end just left without saying a word. Not here's the results, here's what I looked at, here's what I found or didn't find. Nothing. So, in summary, it took a total of 3 visits, almost 6 months and almost $1,000 (after paying office visits, labs, follow up appts. etc) rude and unprofessional treatment from their tech, all to be told....they don't know and let it reappear. No, and thank you. After nearly 2 decades, I have left that practice.

For social distancing they require you to call when you arrive to "check in." They let you come in when it is time for your appointment. My most recent appointment was with Amanda (my previous Doc has retired) and I think she might be my favorite Doctor I have ever had. Her nurse was equally awesome. They were sooo supportive and still extremely direct and transparent with me. My appointment was for 9am on a Tuesday, I had calls lined up right away (cutting it a little too close, if I am being honest) and so when they requested blood work I panicked. Not because needles (watching my husband's cancer treatments has completely numbed me to any heebie jeebies from needles LOL) but because I am a busy lady! I asked if I could schedule it for another time in the week and they told me to just come back in at my convenience that same day! WHAT?! The Dr. told me to come at MY convenience?! You might want to read that again because I still cannot believe it myself. Anyway, I can't get over how great this practice is.

Very fucking disappointed with this office. Will have to find a new one.

I had my reversal in September 2014 with Dr. Edward Zbella with Tubal Reversal Experts in Florida…read more I researched my decision pretty thoroughly and took out a loan to cover the $6000 cost of the surgery. I signed a document when I arrived at the hospital saying that I was paying for the surgery myself but could ask for reimbursement from my insurance company if I chose to. I met Dr. Zbella the day of my surgery. He seemed nice enough. He had a lot of experience in the type of surgery I was to have. I wanted a reversal because of the problems I had with Essure and because I wanted the chance to have children with my now-fiancé. Dr. Zbella and I talked about my negative experience with Essure. He even told me that he was doing an Essure removal just before my surgery. He said that he was hearing more about women having problems with Essure. I told him about the Facebook group Essure Problems so he could reach out to our community and hopefully help more women. Six months after my reversal surgery, imaging showed that my tubes had scarred back closed. No guarantees were made to me about how long my tubes would remain open. I knew going into it that the surgery would not necessarily mean I would go on to have a successful pregnancy. All he said was that if I wasn't pregnant within a year to have the dye test redone. Once the tubes scarred back closed, the scar tissue continued growing and I ended up with stage 4 endometriosis, also called "frozen pelvis." No doctor I've seen since knows why this is. Those of us who have suffered through Essure know that it is possible that during my reversal the PET fibers inside the coils may have been left in my body. There is no way to know this for sure. In September of this year, I had surgery to remove the scar tissue and free up my internal organs. I'd asked Dr. Zbella to give me my coils once he'd removed them. He did. They were given to me in a clear plastic jar, kind like a prescription medication bottle. One was straight, the other was bent and a fragment had broken off. The insides of the coils were not present in the container I was given. This was pointed out to me by the Dr. I saw this past September. At that point I contacted Dr. Zbella's office to see what had happened to the PET fibers inside my coils. I knew from the description of the procedure that Dr. Zbella was supposed to cut the parts of my Fallopian tube that contained Essure out and then reattach the ends of my Fallopian tubes to my uterus. But where did the fibers go? And why was one coil in such bad shape? Dr. Zbella didn't contact me back, but his partner did. His partner said that the fibers were not left in my body, that they were probably washed away by the surgical assistant as she removed any of my tissue that was stuck to the coils after removal. This wasn't described in the surgical notes and the Dr. who called me back did not do my surgery. He said he felt bad that my tubes had closed so quickly and they offered me a year of free IVF to make up for it. I live out of state and my fiancé is Catholic so this offer is of no value for us, but I was surprised they were prepared to offer something so expensive when I had not been promised fertility and nothing seemingly had gone wrong. But I did wonder where those fibers actually were. I requested reimbursement from my insurance company. They were prepared to reimburse me except for one problem-Dr. Zbella did not mention my issues with Essure in my surgical report. I didn't think this was a huge deal, maybe he forgot or maybe it wasn't pertinent information for a surgical report. Either way, I contacted his office to get written confirmation that I'd had problems with Essure so we could be reimbursed the $6000 we paid for the surgery. This was not money coming out of Dr. Zbella's pocket, it was coming straight from the insurance company to me. He didn't place Essure so he wasn't setting himself up to look like he'd done something wrong by putting my problems with Essure in writing. Yesterday, I received a call from Dr Zbella's office manager. She sounded very annoyed. She informed me that Dr. Zbella would not correct my records to include the problems I'd experienced with Essure. I asked why and she said that they had no evidence of my having problems with Essure. I recounted my conversation with Dr. Zbella, pointing out that he had mentioned the lady having a removal prior to my surgery (how would that have come up without us discussing Essure problems?) and she firmly restated that my medical records would not be amended or updated. I asked if I could speak with Dr. Zbella, thinking that I could jog his memory about the conversation we'd had and she said Dr. Zbella would never be willing to speak with me, that my records would never reflect my problems with Essure and she hung up on me. I decided to warn people now about this practice because of their refusal to correct their mistake.
