If you're looking for a kind, understanding doctor who listens to your concerns, DO NOT come here…read more If you're looking for a doctor with an ego bigger than the state of Florida, this is your guy. Dr. Sanchez outright dismissed the idea that diet and lifestyle could help a "skinny" PCOS patient with fertility which is a complete lie. A quick Google search proves otherwise. Instead of exploring alternative treatments, he pushed only birth control or IVF, as if those were the only solutions. He made me feel hopeless about my fertility without even checking my ovulation. I left mid-appointment in tears, and he couldn't have been more nonchalant and chipper about moving on with his day. He had the audacity to say, "If you were my daughter, I would put you on the pill immediately." Funny enough, he told my friend the exact same thing. Let me be clear: if this were my daughter, I would never let her step foot in this office. He was dismissive, condescending, and completely uninterested in anything outside of his rigid treatment plan. If you dare to question him, good luck....he clearly prefers patients who just nod along with whatever he advises. There was a female doctor in the room during my appointment, and the way he interacted with her made me uncomfortable. Honestly, if she had been the one in charge of my care, I have no doubt my appointment would have gone differently. If you want actual hope and a doctor who considers more than just IVF or birth control, save yourself the heartache and money and go somewhere else.

I had gone to 3 previous doctors and practically begged them to test me for PCOS and they all brushed me off. The very first time I met with Dr. Patel, she very aggressively tested me to pin point exactly what the issue was. I am so thankful for her thoroughness. After a couple months of testing, we met with her again. She made a plan for me that included several different oral medications. She was also very aware of my lack of fertility coverage through insurance. She worked hard to keep treatment as cost effective as possible. She hit the nail on the head! We got pregnant from on our very first attempt. My story doesn't end there, because I had two previous losses I was extremely anxious. She monitored me very closely with blood work and ultrasound. I was recently just released from her care with something I've never had before-a pregnancy with a strong heartbeat. I also cannot say enough about her bedside manner. Not only is she a gifted physician, but one of the sweetest people I have come in contact with. I never felt rushed with her and she always answered my hundreds of questions. She was very calming and was always to put my mind at ease. Dr. Patel's nurses were also extremely helpful and sweet. I called them constantly with questions, and they always called back in a timely manner. My only wish is that I could continue my prenatal care with Dr. Patel and CRM. Coming to CRM was an absolute blessing for us!

As a patient of ~2 decades, it is disappointing to see how this is now run like a corporate office…read moreinstead of a medical practice. They no longer have sick visit slots. You get put in rotation with wellness visits. I called for a sick visit, and had to wait almost 2 months. At the visit they told me I needed a full exam, labs, an ultrasound, a mammogram, and a follow up appt. When I went to schedule all of those (except mammogram), I again had to wait more than 2 months. Taking almost half a year to diagnose a sick visit is wild. It took so long for the appointment, nearly all visible symptoms were gone. So, naturally, they were unable to diagnose the issue. I was told to just wait for it to reappear. Their pricing is so high, that even with insurance, my office visits cost shy of $400 each visit. I needed 3 different procedures from their office, and asked the doctor if there was any medical reason why I could not have them all done in the same day, and was told they could all be done in the same day. Got to the front desk, they told me it was not possible because 1 was preventive and the other 2 were diagnostic so they split them up into 3 separate appointments. So, I had to pay shy of $700 (for 2 office visits since only the preventive visit is fully covered) instead of paying for just one office visit. This is not only ridiculously expensive, but also extremely inconvenient for those that work the same hours the office is open. Then at my ultrasound appointment, my ultrasound tech, Georgette, was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was extremely upset that I was asking questions about the ultrasound, i.e. is the ultrasound internal, external, or both, what determines if a biopsy is needed, what is the after care, etc. She got so upset that she pointed to the ultrasound machine and said, "I'm gonna take that wand, stick inside you and it's going to take pictures!" and then slammed my file on the counter, said that someone should have already answered my questions, refused to continue the conversation and left the room to go get my doctor. Once the doctor came into the room and we proceeded with the procedure, Georgette kept sticking the wand in places that were no where near where it was supposed to go. I got confused and asked the doctor to confirm it was internal not external and it was confirmed it was internal. So, I told Georgette she was not putting the wand in the right place and was causing pain to the other areas she was jabbing it. She again got upset and said, "do you wanna just put it in yourself?". So, I ended up having to insert the wand myself because my ultrasound tech, who gets paid to do this......couldn't find the vaginal opening. I've had drunk guys do a better job at finding it. She remained rude throughout the whole entire procedure and at the end just left without saying a word. Not here's the results, here's what I looked at, here's what I found or didn't find. Nothing. So, in summary, it took a total of 3 visits, almost 6 months and almost $1,000 (after paying office visits, labs, follow up appts. etc) rude and unprofessional treatment from their tech, all to be told....they don't know and let it reappear. No, and thank you. After nearly 2 decades, I have left that practice.

For social distancing they require you to call when you arrive to "check in." They let you come in when it is time for your appointment. My most recent appointment was with Amanda (my previous Doc has retired) and I think she might be my favorite Doctor I have ever had. Her nurse was equally awesome. They were sooo supportive and still extremely direct and transparent with me. My appointment was for 9am on a Tuesday, I had calls lined up right away (cutting it a little too close, if I am being honest) and so when they requested blood work I panicked. Not because needles (watching my husband's cancer treatments has completely numbed me to any heebie jeebies from needles LOL) but because I am a busy lady! I asked if I could schedule it for another time in the week and they told me to just come back in at my convenience that same day! WHAT?! The Dr. told me to come at MY convenience?! You might want to read that again because I still cannot believe it myself. Anyway, I can't get over how great this practice is.

They force the use of their patient portal on a level. Dr. Jaime (the young guy) was new to the practice and I did my best to assume the best. I informed him that's a strong opinion for something that helped me the entire purchase pregnancy I had stay hydrated. I dreaded every visit where I was scheduled with him and the last experience was me asking him NOT to perform a membrane sweep but to give a Bishops score. He proceeded to tell me he was checking my cervic (which is a part of the Bishop score) and then he proceeded to do a membrane sweep which risk my water breaking when I was already passed due, and it was something I had specifically asked them not to do. I felt extremely violated and was crying hysterically and luckily, my husband was with me and was able to go back into the office and have a talk with her office manager. They did their best but it was still pretty mortifying and not something that will allow me to return to the practice. Even the women there are phenomenal doctors it's not worth it to be in that practice for me when my opinions weren't just ignored but I ended up feeling physically violated. Highly recommend finding another practice.

Other clinics I've reached out to firmly told me no they couldn't help me due to my age and wouldn't schedule an appointment for me at all. I didn't realize how much I respected the upfront honesty until my appointment with Dr. Pabon. When I called to schedule I made it perfectly clear I wanted to try only once with my own personal eggs, whatever can be retrieved, and I would be paying for it myself through my trust. I spoke with the scheduler, who spoke with Dr.Pabon and they reached back to me and said, Yes they can see me, and we're good about what I discussed with them. I felt we had a mutual understanding that I only want my eggs. Yes I'm aware of the situation and the chances, I did plenty of research, and I wanted to try with that 1% chance. I ended the conversation feeling good our mutual understanding and felt comfortable with filling out everything and sending the 350 for the consult because I was left with the impression yes they will try it. I know that if it failed we could potentially lose far more than 350 but again that was my risk and I was searching for that one person that would help me take that risk and I made that perfectly clear on the phone. Well needless to say I was left with a huge no I won't do it, your age is an issue, your eggs are old, and look into a donor, and we can check your uterus so that you can carry the pregnancy on your own, along with your heart. I could've been told this before ever going and driving for almost two hours and spending 350 to hear exactly what the other facilities advised me over the phone. It's much more human decency to give someone the upfront no instead of giving a false hope that adds salt to an already broken wound. Going there was basically change in his pocket for golf outings. Maybe one day things can come about in science for woman such as myself who want another child but it won't come about until doctors have a will to try and make new innovative ways for us besides donors. Where there's a will to do something there's always a way but until then the only will was to hear what I had to say before scheduling, giving false hope, taking 350 dollars, and telling me exactly what the other facilities respectfully told me over the phone, which was NO WE CAN'T HELP YOU. If you're over 45 and are open to a donor and or surrogate by all means spend the 350 and go but if you're not save the heartache because the answer there will be NO.
