This B&B is everything a B&B should be (And I don't give five stars unless i'm really impressed!)
Its a little like visiting family. There's no TravelLodge emptiness, the house is lived in and full of lots of interesting books and antiques, and if you are looking for a hotel style (clean, white, pristine, nondescript) this is not the place for you.
John is a wonderful host, very easy to talk to, and if you have any problems whatsoever he does whatever he can to help. This is not just a business for John, this is something he enjoys doing, and that really shows. As someone coming to Winchester alone for the first time, not knowing anyone, his charming, chatty and knowledgeable nature was a huge bonus. I would DEFINITELY stay here again but I reiterate, this is a homey lived-in B&B, not a pristine but nondescript room. There are two cats, who are very friendly and have free roam, and a shared bathroom, which surprisingly was absolutely no problem in practice. IF there's any problems, I had none myself, John will certainly go out of his way to rectify them. Lovely little Bed and Breakfast, a home and host with a lot of charm and character! read more
