As much as I *love* organizing we were both feeling overwhelmed with the amount of items/smaller awkward space and didn't know where to start. I had never worked with a professional organization company and admittedly had all the nerves. It's a vulnerable process to have someone in your space with your stuff and everything (including us) was treated with care. The organizers were lovely to work with, so knowledgable, and non-judgmental. They made use of items we already had to help us save money, and provided some guidance to maintain the space. More recently I was faced with a complicated project involving many moving parts in a short time-frame (packing/inventory/coordinating delivery) to move some items out of my Dad's home...while he was terminally ill in the hospital. Now living an hour outside of the city and focused on my Dad's care, I had contacted a couple of different companies I found via Google search who were unfortunately unable to help due to the (understandable) time constraints. When one of them suggested calling Mission 2 Organize (having expanded their business far beyond organization in the years since we last used them) I was hopeful, but cautious to get my hopes up. From the moment I spoke to Maria it honestly felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of me. She was kind, compassionate, and worked hard to get me an estimate quickly and line up everything in the time that was needed. The organizers themselves were nothing short of amazing-thoughtful, efficient, thorough, and truly went above and beyond to (literally) lighten my load so I could stay with my Dad. And the thing is, it was no different than years ago when the stakes were lower and the timeframe was a non-issue. That service is a standard for them, not the exception. Having an interchangeable system really is nice and the ability to return or purchase more parts as needed. We only shop for Elfa during the yearly discount sale around winter time :-). Otherwise the pricing is definitely high for low cost IKEA type items. Staff is always friendly and helpful to custom design and point out options that we might not have thought of. Also purchased stand alone Elfa items and used the Bilt app to put them together. Very nice to zoom in and better understand how to put things together.

When you tend to be cluttered and organizationally challenged, getting some help is absolutely life-changing. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and had some great ideas! Before starting work on my cluttered office, Jan spent some time talking with me about what I use most often, what things make sense to put in a different spot, and what would be best to hide/store. As we organized, she frequently checked in with me on whether I liked where things were being placed, how they looked, and whether it would be easy for me to find and use. I will say that prior to her first visit, I did go through the office and try and put "like" things together, and I got rid of a lot of stuff I didn't need. This helped us maximize our time, and hiring her was a great way to motivate me to start making changes. She also worked with what I had available, so I did not need to go out and purchase a bunch of expensive organizing systems. The great benefit to this is that once you have your area organized, you can then decide and purchase exactly what you need for the space. I already had a bunch of organizing stuff from Ikea, and it all worked just fine. I started out with an office overflowing with books, office supplies, computer supplies, and hundreds of random things that I had stacked on bookshelves because I couldn't quite figure out where they should go. The end result was an amazing transformation. Not only is it visually appealing, but everything is easy to find and use. Her methods make sense to me and now I'm organizing more areas on my own. I was so impressed that I asked her back to help me organize my laundry room, which, you guessed it, had no useable counter space, and was cluttered with every cleaning and laundry product imaginable. The sales consultant was very nice, professional and did a fantastic job selling... but there's no way you can convince me that 2-3 sliding shelves should cost $1k per cabinet.... and these are just your basic run of the mill cabinets. I'm sorry... that's just ridiculous - and this is from someone who's had several closets done with multiple drawers, baskets and what nots. I don't care what they're made out of - it's literally a shelf. At the end of the day, step back and see what it is that you're offering. You could sell a lot more of these if you brought down your prices... I'm just mad that now I have to go figure out how to do this myself - when I really just wanted to pay someone to do it.
