There is something about a clean home. As a working mom, I've been searching for a cleaning crew that could help me wrangle the dust bunnies that have taken over my home. After several failed groupon and living social deals, I turned to yelp for suggestions. I found Jeff and Anthony of Extreme Clean and couldn't be happier! Jeff was very responsive and accommodating from jump. He and Anthony arrived on time and went straight to work. My home looked and smelled great! I live on the south side, which apparently is an issue for many businesses, but clearly the owners of Extreme Clean understand that we have needs and money to spend too. After having a new baby, cleaning the house becomes an afterthought very quickly. After reviewing several housekeeping services, we agreed to give Extreme Clean a try... and we're glad that we did. Anthony M. and Valen were at our house within 48 hours after our initial call. The hourly rate for the initial cleaning was competitively priced against other cleaning services and the service was detail oriented, thorough, courteous, professional and all around excellent. We also have a 95 lb. dog which sheds quite a bit which was no problem for them. Our house has never been cleaner and we have agreed to a bi-monthly service going forward. Apologies given and accepted all around. :) Majorly disappointed. I have a nearly 2k sq ft place but it was certainly not a disaster area. I just wanted a birthday DEEP clean. I arranged with anthony well ahead . i have no furry pets. really easy job except for the sheer square footage! REally nice guys but arrived late for an 8am appointment, did call to let me know. However, I wanted a deep clean and what i got was a surface clean over 5 hours. True, baseboards are a little cleaner, but overall, they did something i could have done myself in five hours. Deep clean per anthony included fridge and oven but when he got here did not include INSIDE of fridge and oven. so what is the point? They barely mopped my beautiful hardwood floors, no oil or anything. they didnt vacuum all the rugs in the house of which there are not too many. i still have dust on my kitchen blinds and office baseboards. they did nothing about the splash marks left on walls. they scratched my hardwoods in the bedroom moving furniture. finally, they also did not put my home back together the way they found it.! the master bedroom was still all apart, (neatly apart, but still apart) from the mopping. unfortunately, they were too expensive for the lack of job done. I still have to clean the kitchen blinds which were still full of dust. i also still have to put back my house after they spent 5 hours dusting and vacuuimg? They didnt vaccum all of the carpets in the house and pretty much just moved stuff around and dusted. Disappointing. I did not have the heart to argue and haggle with them while here, was so disapointed --just wanted them to be done and gone. Anthony has a lot of potential!! He is polite, clean, courteous, and makes you feel at ease. He covers a large service area and brings his own rags which he DOES NOT REUSE!!! His partner Roy was nice and did a really good job on the spots i saw him do. I just dont think it was worth the $250 that I ended up paying only because they did spend a lot of time, the space is big, but I dont feel that I got what I paid for at all. UPDATE#1: After speaking with Anthony by phone to discuss my disappointment and a remedy such as completing the job at another time or renegotiating payment, he became very defensive,raised his voice, told me I can have my money and hung up on me. He was upset about this Yelp post and I conceded that I ought to have complained more loudly while he was here, however I had to move forward with my day and after Anthony's behavior over the phone, I am glad that I didnt engage him in my home ! This is rather unprofessional behavior for someone in the service business. Since Anthony and Roy spent 5 hours in my home, although it was not the quality I had hoped for for $250, I did want to reimburse them for their time. Anthony's unprofessional behavior with me on the phone, interrupting me, raising his voice at me, and finally hanging up on me, is simply unacceptable. We have been using Anthony's services for about two months now, and we are very happy. First - the house is perfectly clean. Second, and perhaps most importantly, we can completely, 100%, trust Anthony, which is no small thing. You let someone into your house when you aren't there and all... Most of the time we aren't home on the day Anthony is coming, so we don't particularly care exactly when he arrives, but on the rare occasions we are, he tends to arrive a bit later than he said he would. This makes so little difference for us, that we still decided to give a 5 stars, but, if that's really important to you, make sure you make it clear. Overall, it's a no brainer. We are very happy with the service, and highly recommend it. read more

*BE WARNED... DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH THIS BUSINESS* Seriously unprofessional experience which resulted in a waste of my time and money. Extreme was Complete No-Call, No-Show for our schedule appointment, causing me and my agent to waste time and efforts trying to do business with this company. After confirming my upcoming appointment with Anthony the night before, and scheduling an agent to meet with his team for the next day, I expected that all was confirmed and settled. Communication on address and time of meeting were explicit and clear. The morning of the appointment, I received a text message from Anthony requesting to move our scheduled time up by 30 minutes. Upon checking to see if this last minute change could be accommodated, I replied to him to confirm this would be acceptable. My thanks in return?...Their team never showed for the revised appointment time nor even the originally scheduled time. I called and texted to their provided contact number, leaving both voice and text messages. My agent followed up on the same separately. Still no response whatsoever and no show for the confirmed appointment nor any attempt to call or return my inquiries as to their whereabouts. Only hours later instead of respectfully return my call, I received a " I'm sorry" text message with an excuse about a phone being damaged/wet and that "if I was still interested" I could reschedule for a later date. Seriously??!!! Extremely poor way to conduct business. The minimum could have been to communicate the delay or inability to make the scheduled appointment. At the least return a phone call to a customer who had been adamantly trying to reach your business for their confirmed appointment time. Sadly, looking at other reviews posted here I see that this seems to be a pattern for this company. read more

Extreme Clean is awesome! Anthony just came to our home for the first time yesterday and it was one of the best experiences I've had with a cleaning service. Clean, clean, clean and Anthony is so friendly and wonderful to work with. 1. The house was clean and beautiful! No chemical smells or odors, but sparkling and beautifully clean. Items were were neatly placed on counters and not in radically different spots as I have experienced with other cleaners. I have a large condo, three cats, and two small children, so this was no small feat. 2. Anthony is positive, punctual, an excellent communicator, and friendly! He follows through on what he says he will do. He takes satisfaction in a job well done. I have had previous house cleaners who seemed to resent the job, or have some degree of negativity--verbal or nonverbal--in the process. With franchised cleaning companies, I have wondered if the workers were paid fairly. With Anthony, none of these issues were a concern. He was not rushed and took the time to do a thorough job. I also echo the previous reviewer's comment that Anthony is trust worthy. 3. The rate is very reasonable for such a good job. There are no required contracts for repeated cleanings--so you can truly customize what works for you, whether it's scheduled or a special one-time clean. And did I mention? Extreme Clean comes to the South Side! Woot! 4. Anthony stands by his work and is totally professional. I found the next morning my that digital kitchen scale had inadvertently gotten some water inside the LCD panel and battery compartment and no longer worked. Anthony cheerfully reimbursed me the amount to purchase a new one! No haggling, no claims, no guilt. I think this speaks volumes about his business practice and integrity. Not impressed. 1) Anthony could not provide me with an hourly rate. I asked him flat out what it was and he could not come up with one. 2) I asked him how long he had been cleaning homes. He said since August. Before that he was in real estate. 3) I asked him how well he cleaned his own home. He hesitated and said that after cleaning all day he didn't want to do it when he came home. But, he added, his cousin with whom he lives is very festitidious and keeps their home clean. 4) Lastly, this is what really left a bitter taste in my mouth, he lead me to believe that he had no problem cleaning a house where dogs reside. But here's what really happened: Anthony jerked me around. I had been looking for a cleaning service because I am having an important guest come to my home at the end of the month. I had a deadline. I emailed him and was VERY CLEAR THAT I HAD TWO DOGS. Anthony said that that was fine, that he loved dogs and had one himself. I told him I was looking for a cleaning service that was comfortable with dogs. Again he assured me that was ok. We communicated via email and telephone and there was no misunderstanding that I had two large dogs, and he was clear that he was ok with dogs. We set up a time and date for him to come over for an estimate. I took time off work so he could come to my house on a Wednesday morning. He came, saw my three bedroom house. Saw the dogs. My dogs were friendly and he seemed comfortable. I resumed showing him the rooms of the house and when I was done I asked him for an estimate. He couldn't provide me with a number. "How much do you charge per hour?" I asked. He had no answer, (RED FLAG!) just waffled. He said he would call me back with an estimate. Four days, two phone calls, and one email pass, and he did not get back to me. Finally I get this email from him: "Really sorry had an urgent family matter. Unfortunately my partner is not comfortable cleaning with the dogs present., so we will have to pass on cleaning for you. Much appreciate your interest in our cleaning service...." This was a complete waste of time and I had to scramble to find another cleaning service. He could have told me outright that he REFUSED TO WORK WITH DOGS, but he didn't. In addition, he could not provide me with a hourly rate! Completely unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. read more

What can I say?! I contacted Anthony last week to find out if he'd give me a quote to clean my Mom's house...he came the same day & today him & his assistant came & thoroughly cleaned my moms house. I was at work, but my mom kept me abreast & shared that Anthony was so nice & did a fantastic job! I was sooooo anxious to see myself & went straight to my Mom's after work. I TOTALLY agree! I own a business and I had some painters come in a left the place a mess. I had no time to clean it myself and it was late Sunday when the painters left. I reached out and extreme cleaner contacted me and we were all set to have someone come out the next morning. In came Maria prompt at 9am and went straight to work. When I called to inquire about services I didn't get an answer right away but he called me right back & even texted me to let me know he did receive my call & he was happy to answer any questions I had. Upon speaking to Anthony I was relieved to find out that he was familiar with my building (Del Prado) in Hyde park & had recently serviced clients in my building before. I couldn't wait to post an update to my last review because I couldn't be more thrilled with Anthony and his responsiveness to my concerns. As I had originally reported, there was a crystal candle holder that ended up broken when Anthony and his assistant cleaned my house. Upon bringing this to his attention, he immediately responded and did all he could to find a replacement. I was able to find the candle holder on-line and purchased and Anthony credited my last home cleaning for the amount of the candle holder. This was such a refreshing breath of air and a true lesson in customer service. He has now gained a long term customer and I will recommend him to anyone looking for a cleaning service. I started having Anthony's business come clean my apartment in Hyde Park when I moved into it in January, and he has been my go-to guy for monthly cleanings ever since! He usually brings an extra helper (often Tyra or Taylor) and they do an amazing job. It's very difficult to find a good, reliable house cleaning service in Hyde Park (I searched Yelp, Thumbtack, Amazon, pretty much everywhere online), and after reading all the reviews, I decided to give Extreme clean a shot and I'm so glad (and relieved) that I did. Almost instantly after I sent him a quote request on Yelp, Anthony gave me a call and I was able to set up an appointment for the next day at 8am! Was very excited to have found this service. Very tough to find a reputable cleaning company that will service the South Side of Chicago. Anthony can be very kind and professional when you do get him on the phone. But, I get the feeling that his company may have more clients than it can handle (again hard to find cleaning services on the South Side). One minute he says that he is going to clean my home, and the next you can't reach him AT ALL, and he's not returning my calls. He ended up cleaning for me once. He did a fairly decent job... Anthony came and cleaned for us every two weeks or so while I was pregnant last year. As other reviews have noted, he's pretty much the only independent businessperson I could find who would come to the south side. He is efficient and does an awesome job, even working around clutter, and his rates are super reasonable--last year, he was charging $60 for our (albeit small) 3-bedroom/1-bath/teeny kitchen apartment. He likes to make conversation, which should be a plus unless you're very very shy. It's a huge pain to park in our area, which sometimes meant he couldn't get here at the exact agreed-upon time, but he was always in communication and letting us know if he was running late. If you let him know that the time is firm, e.g. you have to get to work or what-have-you, he will make sure he's on time or early. He is also receptive to requests about things like what products to use if you are sensitive to fumes/smells. He brought a mop for use just at our house (we didn't have one as our areas of hard floor are so very small we'd just been wiping them down, but... probably not as regularly as we should... hence the need to hire Anthony!). He is great at leaving things tidier than he found them without "hiding" things where you can't find them later. If you want to hire a personable, trustworthy guy who owns his own business and will do at *least* as good a job cleaning as you could do yourself--probably better--at a truly reasonable rate, Anthony is the person you're looking for. read more

Anthony did a spectacular job cleaning our condo. He was here for over 4 hours cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, dining room and front room. It took that long not because my place is that palatial or I'm that bad of a housekeeper but because he did that thorough a job. We have two dogs, and frankly it can get a little doggy smelling, but when he was done you wouldn't know we had any pets. Everything sparkled. The Extreme Clean service is very reasonable for the amount of work that is done and well worth it, especially for the holidays. read more
