My son and I played Stone Ridge a couple days ago, and found the experience very head scratching…read more Here's how I rated my experience. The fairways are very nice, and the greens roll the ball very well. The down side was the greens were very hard and because they were small, we had trouble on approach shots. The course has to many sand traps, and the sand was hard as a rock so you couldn't get out of them as you do with proper sand. I didn't like that nearly every hole had numerous sand traps on them, so if you didn't hit a perfect shot you were in a trap. The course needs a Ranger. Play was very slow, particularly the last 3 holes where a party of 7 drunk players were playing/partying together. That's right, a sevensome! So, I rate the Stone Ridge Golf Course a 3. The price to play gets a 5, the fairways get a 5, the greens get a 3, the traps get a 0, the lack of a Ranger nets a 0, and the experience gets a 0 because of the drunken sevensome. Will I play Stone Ridge again? No, there are to many nicer places to play.

This is a Great Course to play on Fridays and Saturdays but avoid this place like the plague…read moreweeknights. Leaks take over this place Monday through Thursday and they are abusionally slow and the management refuses to do Anything about it. I get it leagues make courses money, but they open up tee times after leagues and we pay too. And I'm talking they won't even do basic little things like have someone go out there and enforce ready golf. That alone would make a huge difference. I managed to get in six holes in two hours and 15 minutes today. If you choose to go on a weekday or during the weekend, this is a Great Course the greens are fast and firm and the course is always kept in great shape, although they are doing some pretty significant maintenance work around some of the holes it's still extremely playable. When there aren't leagues around this is probably a four maybe even five star public course. If you make the mistake I did going out and wanting to get in some golf on league nights (M-Th) it's a one star course, just go somewhere else.

The burgers going by looked really good too. The two appetizers; jalapeño poppers, and pickle spares were really good. The service was decent. They had live music, unfortunately for us it was just too loud as the acoustics in the dining room do not support having a live performance indoors. Audrey was great to work with and the operations team executed everything within our contract without any hiccups or surprises. Food quality: 5 stars- everyone enjoyed the food that I preselected for a buffet style lunch. Banquet food has the potential to be bland and boring, but Fox Hills delivered resturant quality food that I would happily order again. Everything was set up at the desired time and the staff made it seamless, so as not to disturb our meeting. You can tell that they do a lot of banquets and have the details dialed in. Value: I priced out options from a few area venues before choosing Fox Hills. The menu of options and food are straightforward and good value. It's not cheap, but the quality for money made it a good fit for me. Not having for worry about separate vendors and invoices made it simple. I've planned a fair number of large events, and this is a bigger deal than most newbies think. Atmosphere: The venue is classy enough to host a formal reception and comfortable enough for business casual. I felt comfortable having my group of business owners use all of the facilities. The view from the rooms is beautiful. Golf: With multiple courses to choose from, this really makes Fox Hills stand out compared to the local completion. There is a scenic course for every skill level. Overall: I've hosted events at multiple venues, including Top Golf. While I've had good experiences elsewhere, Fox Hills checks a lot of boxes and I would recommend them to a friend. (The food is way better than Top Golf and I know a lot of people think Top Golf is pretty good) One local competitor, Saint John's, is undergoing a massive overhaul and rebranding. I'm curious to see how it stacks up to Fox Hills. It's nice to have so many quality options in the Plymouth area, including Fox Hills.
