The new ownership has this course on the right track, you can tell he cares and more importantly knows what he's doing. Is the course perfect? Absolutely not. The course itself is probably 3.5 stars but if you compare it to what it was before you could give 10 stars. What's good: -There's actual grass on all nine greens. They're very slow and the fringe isn't great yet but compared to the dirt I played on two years ago this is great. -There are tee boxes and multiple tees -A lot of new golf carts and repairs to the old golf carts -New targets on the range and new range balls What's not so good: -The grass everywhere besides the greens is still pretty overgrown. The tee boxes were like teeing off from the first cut -Greens still need some work but it seems like they're doing all the things needed to improve next year -No real practice area or putting green on the course or at the range. They had a small area roped off on the first tee -They need to create a cart path or clear the trees around 7/8/9, getting to 9 is still weird Overall I'm very impressed with the new owners' progress on turning the course around. It isn't quite ready to be "good" but I'm optimistic to play it again next season and see. *My photos reflect what I believed to be the best and worst greens on the course.*

Highland Meadows sits on the best parkland site in northwest Ohio (yes , including Inverness). A…read morenatural river touches 7 holes and carves into the uncommon hilly topography. Highland was a great track when it opened in 1925 but it has been enhanced as a golf facility since the LPGA came in 1989. What pro golf left was a first rate course and practice facilities. After the complete bunker and hole redesign 4 years ago the Ross/Hills inspired routing is playable and modern. This is the best kept secret in the midwest and I hope I'm letting the cat out of the bag. First Rate!

Today OPGC is managed by Oliphant and has seen a tremendous turn around in conditions, the bunkers have been restored with a few eliminated, and the pride and joy of playing OP is back. At only 5079 from the blues, and 4700 from the whites, OP is very playable by the average golfer and still challenges the better players due to its design and character. Stop by during the week and play 9 holes to get a feel for this course, and make a tee time to play 18, you will thoroughly enjoy it. Let's go play OP!!!

With…read moreall of the racial tension going on in the world today the last place I thought I would experience this at was a golf course. We were minding our own business and not bothering anyone. A patron told us we were "slowing down" his game even though he was three holes behind us! Some guy with knee braces comes up to my brother and I on hole 11 and says "don't hit off the tee! you guys aren't following the rules." We were told each player must have their own clubs. (which is totally fine by us) The sad part is one of my high school teachers and her husband only had one set of clubs as well. Of course nothing was said to them. The two guys that were golfing in front of us only had a set of clubs as well. I didn't feel comfortable being here so I just decided it would be best if we leave. Apparently my kind isn't welcome here. No matter how respectful and kind you are.
