Once again, at 6:30 a.m.- Brian immediately returned my call/text- assessed the situation via texted photo, arrived on site (same day) with the right team, the right equipment and took care of it. As this is the second time I have hired 5 Star Tree Services it is particularly worthy of also noting that Brian is very well experienced, knowledgeable and skilled with his array of equipment in addition to paying very close attention to the cosmetic appearance of any work he does whether it be a removal, trimming or an emergency response. When I asked what was going on, they said they were clearing a tree for the neighbor's service box. Even though they knew their work crossed onto my side, they left the mess. I also overheard a few of the crew making light of my questions, which was disappointing. Leaving debris on someone else's property, especially without asking, doesn't reflect well on how the work is done or how boundaries are respected. It shouldn't fall to the property owner to sort out cleanup for something they didn't ask for. I've documented what happened and asked for it to be addressed. I hope the company will take this seriously, ensure the cleanup occurs, and remind their crews of the importance of handling these situations well.

We have 2 big trees in our backyard and we noticed last summer that they needed some maintenance…read more There were plenty of dead branches and some of them were getting way too close to the house. We called Davey Tree Expert and shortly after George, one of their arborists, stopped by. We discussed what needed to be done and he sent an estimate soon after. We noticed that the leaves turned brown prematurely during the summer. George told us both trees needed fertilizing. He pointed out to us, which branches need attention, needed to be trimmed or cut off. He also pointed out a lot of dead wood that needed to be removed. Fertilization was done in October and they recommend you repeat it each year. The trimming was planned for February or March, they give you 10% off if they can do it during the winter months. The first date got cancelled because the job they were at, took more tome than planned. Yesterday, March 3rd, George called and said they had an opening and can they come over now. Sure. A crew of 4 with 3 big trucks showed up shortly. Our driveway was too narrow for the cherry picker, so 2 guys climbed the trees to do all the work. The 2 others handed them their tools, cleaned up all the falling branches and mulched them immediately. It was a fast operation, an hour and a half at most. They cleaned up the driveway before they left. If you need tree maintenance done, Davey is the company to go to.

He told us we needed to have our trees fertilized. Lack of fertilizer was the reason the leaves were turning prematurely brown each year, not because of the change in season. He also described which branches specifically had to be trimmed or cut off entirely. The Davey team came in October to fertilize our trees. They would return sometime in the winter months to do the trimming. Today, March 3, 2021, a team of four men came with their cherry picker. Unfortunately it seemed too close to the houses on either side of the driveway to get the cherry-picker up our driveway and so instead two men climbed the trees and sawed and cut branches; the other two men picked up the branches and sent them through the machinery to turn them into mulch. The entire job took approximately an hour and 1/2. The men used their blower to clean up the tree "crumbs" in the driveway. It was a very efficient operation, very neat and tidy.
