Excellent. Needed a throat culture. In and out in 40 minutes. Instead of 3 hours waiting at the pediatrician. Great staff.

The doctor seemed more interested in going back to her conversation with her colleagues than in trying to treat me. I went to a different urgent care after an agonizing few days since I couldn't take the pain and was tested positive for strep Throat. The staff here are unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I developed a nerve pain down my hip, butt and leg few weeks ago that would not go away. this was going on for the past few weeks. I guess I arrived at a bad time. They were getting very busy. It was 4 PM. I did not see the doctor until 7 PM approximately. Poor staffing equals long wait times. Equals unhappy customers. However, once I was in the care of Dr. Okazaki , my annoyance due to the long wait, was diffused. He quickly called the x-ray technician to come over from the other location (Wellnow locations share an x-ray tech). He diagnosed me with sciatica, ordered two medications for me and explained the reason why I should take them. His sweet nature, competence, and willingness to help, won me over. It's a few days later, and I feel much better. Thank you Dr! I should add, the receptionist was competent and friendly. The x-ray tech, as well.

At this WellNow, the receptionist told me to log onto the website portal at midnight to get an appointment for the next day. We followed her advice, and were able to get my dad a spot at 11am the following morning. I'm deducting a star because of the website misinformation that walk-ins are usually able to be accommodated. That does not appear to be the case anymore, nor can you get a call into any of these places to ask if there is any space when you need them. There should be a better online system for people needing care to know whether or not a location has room at any given time, since the nature of needing a places such as this is typically unplanned and, as the name suggests, urgent. But I am still giving four stars for the kind receptionist who helped us crack the code on how to get in, and the excellent doctor my dad saw once we were in. When we arrived for our 11am appointment, a text gave us a check-in link that confirmed our arrival and advised we wait in the car. We didn't wait long to be called into a room. The initial nurse was very friendly, and the wait to see the doctor then wasn't too bad. The doctor, Dr. Titus, was so very kind and attentive. He would be fantastic in his own practice, as I'm sure patients would love to see him as their regular doctor. He was very careful with my sore dad, very sensitive and warm. Ultimately we were referred to the emergency room, which Dr. Titus called ahead to expedite my dad's check in there. Dr. Titus was really wonderful! If you can actually get into this WellNow Urgent Care, you will be in great hands with Dr. Titus if you see him. All of the staff was great during our visit. But be advised that most urgent cares seems to be unavailable to walk-ins the majority of the time at the moment, requiring an appointment, which sort of defeats the purpose of an urgent care in the first place.

On Monday, November 24th, I went to WellNow for an ear irrigation (a warm water + peroxide flush)…read morebecause my right ear had started to ache -- usually a sign that wax has built up again. I've been through this many times before because my ear canals are tiny and narrow, and WellNow has always handled it just fine. This visit was the exception. The assistant who worked with me was wonderful. She was friendly, careful, and mindful of my weirdly small ear canals. She even managed to remove some wax without causing discomfort. Then Dr. Marc came in. I explained that my right ear was still throbbing and I didn't feel any relief yet. He attempted to irrigate it again, and I honestly have no idea what technique he was using -- but it felt rushed, sloppy, and almost like he was going in blind. His irrigation made me start coughing uncontrollably, and when he finished, I realized my ear was bleeding. Not a tiny spot -- actually bleeding. When I expressed concern, he brushed it off as "something that can happen" during irrigation. Well, Dr. Marc, I can confidently say this has never happened in all the times I've had this procedure done. I left WellNow in more pain than I arrived with, frustrated, shaken, and frankly irritated at the condescending explanation that followed. It felt like being mansplained to by someone who didn't know what he was doing and lacked any semblance of bedside manner. Update - Saturday, Nov. 28: I ended up going to the ER because the pain kept getting worse. The PA who examined my ear immediately noticed that my ear canal is inflamed, which pretty much confirms that something wasn't right with how that irrigation was done.

I completely understood the circumstances and that it was not the staff's fault the tech could not come. However, when I declined, NP Casey Renaud became blatantly rude and then questioned why I was being "rude." The interaction felt degrading and unprofessional. As I was leaving, she loudly told the other nurses to make sure they documented that I could not return, which was completely unnecessary and humiliating to hear in front of staff and my baby. No patient should be spoken to or treated that way. I do want to note that the front desk employee could not have been kinder and went out of her way to make sure I was okay afterward, so I truly appreciate her compassion and professionalism. Unfortunately, based on my own experience, I will never return and have filed a complaint with the New York State Office of Professional Medical Conduct regarding the incident.

I don't have time to wait 15 minutes for a receptionist to answer the phone. I can't leave a callback number as my work hours coincide with excelsior's receptionist hours. I don't have time to drop everything and answer my phone. I don't have time to sit around, if I'm home, waiting for a callback. Plus, I work in a noisy factory where I rarely hear my phone ring. So, this is a major complaint of mine about excelsior. I've spoken to my doctors there repeatedly but apparently, they haven't changed their phone answering system or hired more people to just answer phones and take appointments. 3 stars, simply because it's so hard to get anyone to answer a phone.
