From the moment that we first called Estep Brothers within the hour of our loved one's passing through our return from the interment at the cemetery, Estep Brothers gently held our hands throughout the entire process. My departed loved one looked so beautiful for the viewing and the service. The services were quite lovely. Estep went so far as to provide an organist and a minister as our departed loved one did not have a church home. When the minister could not make it to the interment, Mr. Hibner said the final invocation. It was beautiful! Mr. Hibner is an absolutely asset to the business. Estep Brothers worked with the cemetery to have our loved one buried close to the other dearly departed members of our family. The prices were extremely reasonable for the services. The funeral home is located in the Bolton Hill section of Baltimore - across from a park with a Key statue and lovely water fountain. The interior is absolutely gorgeous - harkening back to the beautiful brownstone houses that were characteristic of 19th century Baltimore. The home is beautifully appointed and was perfect for the viewing and the services. I could not have asked for more from a funeral home. Estep Brothers has served our family well for decades, and I see why now as an adult. Thank you, thank you, Estep Brothers!!! They did a wonderful job on my mom making her look so beautiful and peaceful. Everyone there were very nice, sympathetic, and professional. However, there were some confusion with the insurance policy (because Johnathan for some reason could not get the policy numbers correct no matter how many times it was given to him through email or verbally). Eventually, everything cleared up and the funeral home was paid. But during time he was unprofessional with a family member who was helping me with the funeral arrangements and dealing with policy. My family member decided to leave a review about their experience dealing with him and of course it was not a good one. Today, while I am still grieving the passing of my mother, Johnathan called me to question me about the review that my family had given and was very rude, unprofessional, and nasty. It's one thing to call to see what the problem was, how things could have been handled differently, or to just apologize, but to call and be nasty and rude about it and even threaten to respond back to review with a negative comment of your own is downright unprofessional. And from what I see there are other bad reviews here as well as on yelp. My mother is gone, and you are calling her grieving daughter about a review? Are you serious? By you making that call has cause more harm and good. The next time you decide to call a grieving family stop and think first about how that call can affect them and your business.

I was advised that ai go in the room. The room was a decent size and had seating all around the room. Now I will say upholstery seats should be cleaned if there are stains. One of the couches had a stain that should have been cleaned up before having a family gathering. For that I had to deduct a star. No one wants to sit on a unknown stain. The chapel was very nice for the service.

I hated to pick something so important practically blind. I knew that Ruxton Funeral Home had a good reputation, but was too far away. When I called them however, they gave me a recommendation for Singleton Funeral Home. I highly recommend this funeral home as well. Michael was a pleasure to work with, always understanding and patient and followed up everything he said he would. I believe he is related to the owner or manager of the Ruxton Funeral Home, which is where a lot of police funerals are held i hear. They were very quick in getting the obituary in the papers and online and also in obtaining copies of the death certificate. I was impressed with their ability to coordinate a large police officer funeral without a hitch (none that we knew about at least, which is how it should be). I was also impressed with their flexibility in coordinating with my sister (the police officer's survivor), myself, our mother, the police liaison, two different motorcycle club representatives, and the FOP chaplain. Michael was always very succinct in telling us the tasks we had to accomplish and the deadlines for them and made sure to double check anything he heard from anyone with my sister or mother, which we very much appreciated when someone told him something incorrect. I wish I could give Donaldson funeral home 10 stars…read more Our dog passed away yesterday and a friend recommended Donaldson funeral home to take our boy to be cremated. From the minute we arrived, they were so nice and caring We were able to have time with our dog before saying goodbye. The man we worked with asked us some questions about our dog to really get to know him as well as us. We were then taken into a room designated for pets. We were able to pick out an urn for our boy- there were like 20 to choose from. We filled out the paperwork and to our surprise we were told that we could come back that afternoon to pick him up. He also ensured us that he would be the one doing the cremation (individual cremation) We dropped him off around 10am and we had our boy home around 4 that afternoon. When we picked him up the lady that was there was interested in our dog. She again asked us questions about him and wanted to see pictures. It really showed us that they care about the families and the loved ones that passed. The level of service provided here was outstanding.

We chose the location for Donaldson in Odenton because we were very familiar with it, having lived in the area for over 20 years. We had had the opportunity to attend several funerals and viewings at Donaldson and had noticed how well they handled everything. Dealing with them in regards to making all of the arrangements for my brother was no different. The funeral director was very kind and patient. She was also very accommodating because I had some special needs and she went out of her way to work with me. My initial point of contact, Benjamin, was also amazing. He was friendly and kind and understanding. We never actually met in person but he is the one who answered all of my initial questions and got the process started. No matter what time it was, if I had sent him an email or left a message with a question, he made sure to get back to me as soon as possible. I will never forget his kindness. Making the arrangements for a friend or loved one after they have passed is never an easy thing. However, Donaldson did everything they could to ensure that the process was as smooth as possible.
