Zero stars. 30 years later and I am still fuming about my engagement ring purchased from Mark (still have receipt and appraisal). Almost a carat marquis. After initial purchase we went back to have him appraise it for insurance purposes and it was a fabulous appraisal and true to what we thought we were buying. After getting it back there was a big black dot in the stone and incredibly foggy and questioned him about it. He was very rude and defensive and would not do anything about it. Shortly thereafter, believe it or not, I was I walking through Dierbergs and I knocked it on the dairy shelf and it cracked!. Contacted him again and he blew us off. We were very young (21 and 24) and very naive. Threatened a lawsuit (which of course we never planned on and he new it), and just learned to live with it. I'm embarrassed to wear it-and afraid to wear it should it crumble. It had lost all sentimental meaning. He may be more ethical now, but not then. Thirty years later and moving 1500 miles away and I'm still fuming. Will never forget his name! read more
