He sent us regular check-in emails and was always prompt and professional in response to our questions. Rick, aka DJ Superman, was our assigned DJ. He scheduled a time to meet us ahead of our wedding, which was great because then it didn't feel like we were strangers on the day. We had great conversation and spent time going over the plan and our playlist. We really appreciated Rick's attention to detail and making sure he knew what kind of vibe we wanted for the dance floor. On wedding day, Rick showed up and immediately brought the good vibes! He was hyping us up before cocktail hour even began and getting us excited for the night ahead. Cocktail hour music was a perfect rom-com vibe. We had a "Top Gun" themed grand entrance, he nailed the music loop and getting the room hyped up for us to walk in. Throughout the rest of the night, he did an awesome job getting the crowd out on the dance floor and participating! He walked around with the microphone getting people to sing along, urged people to get out there, and even made an impromptu karaoke performance for me and my husband to "Paradise by the Dashboard Light". Overall we were extremely happy with the service Rick (and by extension, Tim) provided. He went above and beyond to make our night epic and many people commented that our wedding was one of the best they'd ever been to. Rick even took some candid photos and videos that captured our night and shared the with us. 10/10 would recommend!

I highly recommend Tim. Thanks again for everything Tim!

Christopher photographed my wedding at the end of July. From our initial consult, to our…read morecommunication leading up to the event, to our experience on the day and the price we paid, I couldn't be happier with our choice of photographer. Chris did a great job of getting to know my wife and I before our ceremony date. He met with us to discuss what we wanted and to get a feel for our personality as a couple. We were a bit apprehensive before meeting him because neither my wife or I are very comfortable in front of a camera, but he really put us at ease, making us feel confident that we wouldn't feel overly pressured or "directed" working with him. Chris was very accommodating to work with, agreeing to a few different last-minute schedule changes when we decided we needed more time for pre-ceremony pictures. With only 90 minutes before our ceremony, he worked very fast to take a bunch of creative photos in different locations we'd chosen around town, getting us to the "church" with plenty of time to spare. He was also great at finding unique angles from which to photograph the ceremony (stealthily creeping around so we never even noticed him), dealing with our disorganized families to get group shots of everyone before the reception started, and capturing all the guests and big moments during the reception itself. The biggest thing I can say is that Chris listened to what my wife and I wanted and delivered! This is a strong contrast to our engagement session with a different (more expensive) photographer, which was overly staged and harried and resulted in "nice" pictures that nevertheless don't feel like "us." We are a laid back couple and had a very low-key wedding (no wedding party, few traditional elements), and Chris did an excellent job adapting to our personalities. In reference to the very negative review posted earlier, I can only say that we experienced no communication issues with Chris or his wife. Our photos were delivered to us more or less in the timeframe promised, and I appreciate that he gives you an entire disc of pictures rather than just a selected few.

My kids were sick most of the winter, it did not snow until it was February and WAY to cold to be outside for pictures so I did not even try to make an appointment until spring. When I did I had to work around my kids' sports schedules, their time with their dad and of course the photographer's schedule as well. We settled on a date that was outside the window but he graciously extended it. Fast forward 4 weeks, it was raining and has been raining for several days. We had to reschedule, again given our busy schedules we finally set a date about 5 weeks out. The morning of the photo shoot, it was overcast and looked like it was going to rain even though the forecast said nothing about rain but I waited and waited and just as it was time for the shoot the skies cleared up and the sun came out. Our photo shoot was at 6, so I was tired from a long day of work and the kids school but Christopher was great. He was able to get a ton of amazing shots. The photos took a little longer than expected to be received but after reviewing them they were well worth the wait. THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!

Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. A beautiful facility with friendly service and lots of space to move around make this a great gathering spot.

I will say that it is not easy planning a wedding where everything is 'A La Carte'. Thankfully my Mom helped with a lot but I would highly recommend that most couples (who both work full time) probably want to have a wedding planner. The Brix is helpful with their suggestion list (we used a lot of the vendors on the list) but I will admit it was more overwhelming than I originally thought it would be to manage everything. Also Binnys and their delivery service was a MUCH cheaper option than the Brixs preferred partner. Taking back the extra alcohol was not too much extra work especially considering it saved us almost a grand compared to prestige.

However, I was disappointed with the way the day went. With 8 hours of access we planned for an hour of clean up at the end with all guests out. The owner had my guests cleaning up the venue starting at 7:30 even though we didn't need to be out until 10:30. I understand asking guests to clean plates but my photos from the end of the night didn't have any of the decor because it was put away before my wedding was over. Truthfully it made me feel rushed to end my wedding which was very disappointing. The bartending service we hired also complained about being rushed and having their services disrupted by the owner.
